Academic gathering with a lich-Chapter 151 - 144 Cooperation Hunt
```
"Your bodies are fragile. In comparison to the profound wisdom and stubborn souls, your remains are clearly flawed. Do not fight with brute force and recklessness, you will find it to be very...inefficient."
Mr. Giant Dragon stood on a platform, introducing the philosophy of Andrey’s Spirit Summoning Studies to the guests below. They might have once been his students, or they might have embarked on different paths, but the Giant Dragon didn’t mind letting more people understand this discipline that aligns closely with the Liches.
"This exam embodies our teaching philosophy. Do not risk your own safety to attempt danger; you must first learn to protect yourself. In this age, every creature with a brain diameter larger than ten centimeters knows to bypass creations and attack the Spirit Summoner’s head. Those Spirit Summoners who did not die in the sea of skeletons are only those who jumped too eagerly. Our true strength lies in the creations you shape and the cool-headedness stored within your skulls."
"However, Mr. Giant Dragon, how are those students, who are barely able to protect themselves, going to obtain their own creations? Nowadays, all the materials are on those monsters in the White Bone Forest."
Several floating spirits placed a huge stone slab in the groove prepared earlier, and with the input of mana, some bright, web-like structures appeared on the slab; it was a map of the White Bone Forest.
When the web-like structures were outlined, various skull markers appeared at different locations on the map.
"These are the existing monsters, also the targets for the students."
The Giant Dragon scanned it over, "It seems no student has succeeded in hunting; we look forward to the upcoming developments. They should soon discover the next principle we wish to teach."
"A Spirit Summoner must learn to use everything around them."
......
"The area near the trees is an absolute safe zone; it seems to be because it’s inherently a pivot of the White Bone Forest, those creations won’t come close to here."
Mr. Shiny exchanged some useful information with Lyle, trying to get him to let down his guard.
"That is not the reason you came to find me, Mr. Shiny. Your relaxed demeanor suggests that your creation is already taken care of?"
"A bit, let me get straight to the point. Mr. Plague Doctor, let’s cooperate, finish the hunt together. We can’t deal with those creations on our own, but together we might be able to take down one, and then we’ll have the materials, right? As for why I sought you out, of course, it’s because I am well aware that Mr. Plague Doctor’s cursing ability will definitely not drag us down."
"What do you say, shall we join forces?"
It was a rather good option and a chance to study the opponent’s abilities but can Andrey’s people be truly bound by the spirit of the contract? Let’s give it a try first.
"I am not your first collaborator, am I?"
Mr. Shiny seemed a bit embarrassed, his scales clinging to his face, his voice becoming muffled, "Actually, the first choice was Mr. Plague Doctor, but on the way, I ran into Mr. Control and Mr. Flexibility, so we teamed up, after all, there’s strength in numbers."
Lyle casually exposed another of his thoughts, "After all, since they are two brothers, to ensure a balance of power, you plan to pull in another person to stand on your side."
"Hahaha, you got me there. There’s no helping it; being at a disadvantage, I had to think of something."
"I understand. I choose to cooperate, Mr. Shiny. Pleasure doing business."
```
......
Mr. Flexibility and Mr. Shiny wore identical gray robes; the only difference was probably the black and white masks on their faces. Mr. Flexibility’s had a crescent-shaped upturned corner, while Mr. Shiny’s was a silent horizontal line.
Upon seeing Lyle and Shiny’s arrival, Mr. Shiny left the twisted wood he was leaning on. Mr. Flexibility grabbed his arm, the two brothers exchanged a look, and Mr. Flexibility, rubbing his hands together, stepped forward to greet them.
"Welcome, Mr. Plague Doctor."
"Thank you for the invitation, Mr. Flexibility."
"Let’s cut to the chase, Flexibility," interrupted Mr. Shiny, gesturing with his hand, and the four of them headed toward the target area.
A scattered area lay before them, the soil upturned, its white sandy surface torn away to reveal the light gray sickly soil underneath, like a deep, bone-exposing wound in human flesh. Lining the sides of this vast chasm were cylindrical pits the size of water tanks.
Lyle quickly identified the owner of these large footprints; its body seemed magnified in his mind across the unobstructed clearing.
A skeletal mammoth.
A white bone creature, its body’s large animal ribs thrusting diagonally into the soil, leaving behind the tracks of its movement. Its two massive hooves, made up of repeatedly crushed bone residue, made a creaking noise when sinking into the soil. The small skull at the front end had no mammoth tusks but bore three distorted oversized vertebrae, like the prongs of a trident pointing ahead of its line of sight. The active vertebrae swept around like antennas, with the bones on either side of the vertebrae forming a hollow round stick, which occasionally moved with a vivid sound, vivid enough to imagine your own bones being crushed by it.
"This is the prey Flexibility and I have chosen; it has a hard skeleton and considerable attack power, a huge mass, a moving fortress. It’s not fast, and its soul perception is pretty lousy; it even needs additional components to scout now, a low-intelligence creation. Without a controller, its combat power is pathetically low. But it is still a huge problem. Flexibility and I have tried some things; Element attacks of the Second Lock level, it can nearly ignore. Any swing of those three vertebrae is enough to fail us in an exam. Now, the only potential weakness is its skull, where the soul fire is hidden. We need to be able to attack its skull but must get close and dodge those three huge swinging sticks."
Mr. Shiny then offered a part of his abilities, his fingers condensing into ice blades, "My ability level is Second Lock, a Mage with a background in Spirit Summoning Studies, an Ice Elementalist, I can slow it down and throw ice blades to divert its attention." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Mr. Flexibility followed, "Second Lock, a Mage with a background in Spirit Summoning Studies, my Element is frost and fog, I can create a hazy field, making decoys to disrupt the target."
Next came Mr. Shiny, "Second Lock, majoring in Spirit Summoning Studies, and as a personal hobby, I’ve studied biology. I can provide various scale props, defense, Magic Resistance, Mana Recovery, Enhanced Perception, and so on."
Before Mr. Shiny could continue speaking, Nia popped out from Lyle. Her large eyes looked at Mr. Shiny and she extended a black tentacle, waving the sucker side in front of Mr. Shiny.
"Shiny, let Nia try the scales."
Mr. Shiny generously handed over a handful, "You should apply these scales to..."
Squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak, squeak.
Nia quickly swallowed the pile of scales, and as the four watched in stunned silence, from within the wriggling black sphere came a sound similar to chewing potato chips.
After a gulp, Nia was full of vitality.
"Jordania, majoring in Spirit Summoning Studies, my dream is to be an Evil God that rules the world, I’ll be responsible for smashing that skull!"
