Abyss Sequence-Chapter 378 - 35: Signs of Spatial Fusion
Catastrophe Level really has its own horrors.
Yevgenia can create gravity distortion points, and Yan Luo can punch and destroy the head of a demon that even a gravity distortion point can’t break.
If there were a high-rise building in front of his punch, it would likely be shattered too.
Yan Luo led a group of Hunters to dissect the corpse of the Rock Armored Wolf, and the hunters discussed it excitedly.
This is the corpse of a Disaster-level Demon, something never seen on Blue Star before.
Abyss substance materialization has only recently occurred, before this, even if a Disaster-level Demon was killed, no corpse would remain.
The corpse of this Disaster-level Demon brought back to Blue Star will certainly attract the attention of many scholars.
Sasa has already decided; she wants to use the corpse of this Disaster-level Demon as a key point for recruitment, allowing any related scholars to join her lab to research the corpse.
After all, the corpse weighs several hundred tons, nearly a thousand tons; if not for the Space Box and other spatial artifacts, recovering this corpse would require using dozens of large trucks to move it back and forth.
A single move could even require the simultaneous use of fifty large trucks!
Yan Luo and Yevgenia, as the slayers of the demon, share ownership of the corpse, while Sasa is indeed very important to both of them.
Needless to say for Yevgenia, any request from Sasa would be agreed to, and for Yan Luo, he would probably only think a little before agreeing to share some of the Disaster-level Demon’s flesh with her.
This is ’networking’!
When the convoy set out again, Sasa was still immersed in her beautiful imagination, unable to resist smiling.
A few minutes later, Sasa came back to herself, crawled to the rear of the armored car, and started her experiment.
She is also a scholar researching demons, now that a Disaster-level Demon’s corpse is in her hands, how could she let it go?
Sasa quickly exhausted all her strength, and by the time the convoy reached the next city, she had rested enough.
She didn’t get out of the car but stayed inside continuing her research.
It’s fortunate that the exoskeleton has the function of regulating the inside environment; otherwise, Sasa would sweat profusely and catch a cold.
This city happens to gather teams from surrounding cities, so the merchant convoy cleared all their stock here.
After clearing the goods, the convoy rested in the city for a night, and returned directly the next day.
Everyone returned fully loaded, whether it was the elves coming together to buy goods or the human merchant convoy.
On the return journey, Sasa kept repeating experiment, rest, experiment, rest.
Although it seemed tiring, Yevgenia could tell with a glance that Sasa was genuinely happy doing the experiments.
Only when they returned to Gass City did Sasa break out of her experiment and rest cycle.
Not because she was tired or bored, but because she knew she had to balance work and rest, so she temporarily stopped experimenting for a good rest period, and the remaining research can be done back on Blue Star.
In Gass City, Sasa took off her exoskeleton and strolled the streets with Yan Luo, taking some photos as souvenirs.
Although Yan Luo didn’t feel tired at all, everyone else needed a good rest, so he went along with the flow and started resting.
Having nothing to do, Yan Luo went out with Sasa to stroll.
"This photo is nice, I’ll use it as my room’s background when we get back."
Sasa flipped through the photos she took, nodding with satisfaction.
When they returned to Blue Star, she planned to project her best-taken photo onto the ceiling.
While walking, they arrived at the front of the Gass City Library.
Sasa and Yan Luo exchanged a glance and headed towards the library.
Since they were here, and having personally seen the strange changes in the Crimson Abyss before coming to Alfheim, now is the perfect time to investigate whether there are books explaining the abyssal mutation.
Yan Luo and Sasa are honored guests of Gass City, and they can enter and leave the library without prior notification. The administrator was surprised to see them.
Before, usually, it was Sasa who came to the library to read; they had never seen Yan Luo here.
Sasa went to the counter to ask the administrator, "Could you tell me where the books about the Secret Realm are kept?"
The administrator pointed her in a direction, and Sasa led Yan Luo over.
The Gass City Library looks just like the traditional libraries on Blue Star, with large spaces filled with bookshelves, and the shelves packed with books.
Gass City has existed as long as this library, with some books traceable back to when Gass was built.
Sasa and Yan Luo navigated through the forest-like densely packed bookshelves, looking up at the labels on the shelves.
Soon, Sasa found her target.
She glanced left and right, raised her hand to point to a book high up, "That one."
Yan Luo reached out to pull the book down and put it in Sasa’s hands.
Sasa opened the thick book, copied its contents every ten lines, then searched keywords to find content potentially related to the abyssal mutation.
Yan Luo was not idle either, doing the same work as Sasa.
Soon, Sasa found the answer she sought in a book recording the Secret Realm’s history.
"Secret Realm space begins to connect with other Secret Realms because the Secret Realm intends to merge into the real world. Once the situation stabilizes, the Secret Realm will fully open, no longer needing portals, and one can enter and exit the Secret Realm just by crossing its boundary, traveling between the Secret Realm and the real world... Damn!"
Sasa didn’t expect the ultimate result of the abyssal mutation to be the abyss merging completely with Blue Star.
Though it’s not like the abyss directly descends onto Blue Star, what difference does it make?
She showed Yan Luo the description in the book, causing Yan Luo to furrow his brow.
"The abyss should indeed be annihilated!"
This seems to have heightened Yan Luo’s loathing towards the Abyss.
No wonder the Alfheim Wilderness no longer has ordinary animals or mutated beings; originally, Sasa thought it was due to the high concentration of Magic Power, with all ordinary creatures turning into demons.
Unexpectedly, it was the Secret Realm’s complete fusion with Alfheim, resulting in materialized demons escaping from the Secret Realm and reproducing offspring in the real world.
Thinking of the abyss fully merging with Blue Star makes Sasa’s scalp tingle.
The knowledge Yan Luo acquired from the Evil God’s Mark told him merely that ’the abyss is a trial,’ but didn’t reveal what the abyss ultimately becomes.
Even long-lived elves have grown accustomed to ’demons existing in the wilderness,’ but because Blue Star experienced a long period without abyss or Magic Power, Sasa and Yan Luo both feel resistant to the complete fusion of the abyss and Blue Star.
Once abyssal mutation starts, they can no longer stop the fusion of the abyss and Blue Star.
In fact, even the elves have no way; they don’t know how to prevent such an occurrence.
Will humanity have to learn to coexist with demons in the future?
Sasa thought about it and looked up at Yan Luo’s profile.
Just as she expected, even knowing this, Yan Luo showed no expression, merely furrowed his brows previously.
Even knowing their ancestors coexisted with the abyss for a long period, Yan Luo doesn’t waver in his resolve to completely annihilate the abyss. Now, knowing the abyss will merge with Blue Star, causing a massive emergence of demons in the wilderness, Yan Luo is even more determined to eliminate the abyss.
"Your intuition was correct..." Sasa said softly.
Yan Luo previously discovered several grains of sand on the armored car console, believing they came from another abyss; now the elves use past experiences to confirm that the abyss indeed has irregular connectivity phenomena.
Until the abyss fully merges with Blue Star, this phenomenon won’t disappear.
Such occurrences are because each abyss and Blue Star overlap in space coordinates, occasionally contacting other abysses when the abyss draws itself closer to Blue Star.
Initially, it’s just an environmental mutation, nearing the late fusion stage, one might unexpectedly cross into another abyss.
These matters, once returning to Blue Star, Sasa will have to report, so people can make preparations in advance.
