Above The Sky-Chapter 1907 - 395: Inega II
Ice Prison Calamity Ash?
Ian was momentarily stunned. He quickly thought that he had also obtained a bottle of Ice Prison Dust from the Guardian of the City of Knowledge... though scarce, creations of the Ice Prison type still exist in Terra today.
But he couldn’t help asking, "Where did you get it? From the City of Knowledge? Although Ice Prison Calamity Ash is powerful, trying to implant it into the body of a Fifth Energy Level being without them rejecting it is a big problem—my teacher was ambushed back then, and after taking the Ice Prison Calamity Ash himself, he was unable to remove it. Now, Axel..."
He looked at the Celestial Flaming Phoenix hatching in front of him, a state of full Aether True Body eruption that obviously couldn’t be easily poisoned.
"Not the Guardian’s version; his has already been weakened." Michael shook his head, "This is the most primitive and destructive batch of Ice Prison Calamity Ash, you could even say it’s the last bit, the same batch that harmed the First Knight back then."
"This is my final card. With the Dragon Power of Heavenly Law, I can suppress all changes in the Ether Sea for a short period, even fine-tune some constants of space-time to create a flaw."
"Thus, I can use my life as a price to send the Ice Prison Calamity Ash into my father’s body."
Ian was silent, somewhat understanding why in other worldlines, after Axel defeated Michael, there was silence and no news afterwards.
So it was the Ice Prison Calamity Ash.
Dragon Power of Heavenly Law and Ice Prison Calamity Ash, these are Michael’s cards, indeed possessing the ability to take down any Fifth Energy Level being in this world along with himself.
"Ian, whatever cards you have left, bring them out."
At this moment, the light around Michael grew even more dazzling. After a short rest, he recovered his state.
"Me?"
Yet Ian turned his head, looking toward Terra’s direction.
His final card...
At this moment, Silverpeak Domain.
Since the Calamity of Light erupted, and the natural disaster descended upon South Ridge, Adalbert had been ever-ready to initiate ’Crowd’s Heart’, connecting all residents of the Silverpeak Domain.
And when the terrifying psychic resonance swept through large parts of the continent, the Giant of Light had already taken shape, rising slowly in Xiahui City, resisting the soul citizens that swept across the continent.
Unexpectedly, the Giant of Light indeed could resist the soul citizens for ordinary people, but relatively, Adalbert had to endure millions of times the psychic resonance.
At that moment, the Giant of Light also received the consciousness of Inega II.
"Madman!"
Upon sensing this, Adalbert couldn’t hold back. Compared to Ian who had somewhat anticipated this and Michael who knew his father’s character, he truly couldn’t believe the Empire’s emperor would be this level of madman.
Compared to Axel, the Duke of Solin seemed like a normal person; at least the Duke of Solin was just so obsessed with protecting the populace that he killed them all, while Axel freely distributed his father’s consciousness for the sake of a perfect world...
No, both are equally absurd, what’s the point in comparing?
Moreover, Adalbert keenly sensed that Axel’s global mind control technology essentially followed the legacy of the Deceased Monarch, but ended up with an entirely opposite result.
The Deceased Monarch molded everyone as an accessory of one person, whereas mind control turned one person into a part of everyone.
The Imperial Capital’s shield was given away through various methods, traded out, influencing world affairs behind the scenes, everything Axel had been dormant for all these years was for today.
Whether it was the Thousand-Star Beast or Calamity of Light, things other countries would view as their ultimate cards were merely Axel’s distractions; no one could have imagined Axel’s true goal.
Additionally... all research conducted by the Empire, such as the resurrection of Chosen Psychic Power users, all occurrences in the Leyan Territory, were essentially about studying immortality.
Axel absolutely mastered a part of Inega II’s immortality, hence he could fully induce the other’s personality... this was a mental template created via ’incomplete resurrection’!
In other words...
"Ian!"
Enduring Calamity of Light and the endless psychic resonance mind control, Adalbert managed to communicate with Ian, "Axel’s mind control is essentially a continuous ’Chosen One resurrection’! He’s leveraging the Black Emperor’s immortality!"
"Find the method, counteract the opponent’s Spirit Energy ritual! At least you can interrupt this wide-scale mind control!"
Ian heard Adalbert’s voice and immediately understood what he meant: "I see, Axel’s reluctance for me to go to the Imperial Capital, it’s very likely because at the core of the capital, the carapace left by the Black Emperor is serving as the ritual center. My presence would disrupt, thwarting this broad mind control."
"I cannot go, but aside from me... there is another person who might have permissions to the Imperial Capital, even the innermost core."
"Yisen!"
Holy Mountain.
Yisen Gard, surrounding the Thousand-Star Beast, squinted, looking up at the bright New Moon in the sky.
The battlefield of Ian, Michael, and Axel is there.
Although his power had rapidly improved, he still couldn’t join such a battlefield.
The psychic resonance couldn’t intrude upon the Holy Mountain area protected by the Huai Guang Swarm, but Yisen Gard was different. He could clearly sense that within him, his bloodline was resonating with distant wills, even if without resonance. As more and more people worldwide possessed the consciousness of Inega II, the memories within him also grew clearer.
"It seems that I’m the experiment subject in this area."
Without any resentment, Yisen Gard merely pondered: "In a sense, I’m the bloodline inheritor of my great-grandfather. My existence proves that powerful Spirit Energy Users can revive after death, and their thought patterns can be replicated... That’s all that’s needed, grandfather doesn’t need any extra functions."
"Hence, I haven’t become the base for Inega II’s revival... Grandfather’s ambitions are grand, and it saved me a life."
By now, he completely understood why Axel’s attitude towards him was indifferent yet somewhat attentive. His existence inherently held certain privileges of Inega II, and involving him in many matters would instead cause variables.
Theoretically, Yisen Gard should have long been considered an accidental factor to eliminate, but because he was somewhat similar to Inega II, Axel did not make that choice but instead expelled him from The Empire like he did with Mahdi (Ian).
Could this be said to be a mistake due to excessive kindness?
When Yisen Gard heard Ian’s telepathy, knowing he had the possibility to go to the Imperial Capital to interrupt this widespread brainwashing, the first thought that emerged in Yisen Gard’s mind wasn’t any sense of danger or hesitance about dying, but a simple sense of relief.
"Finally, I can do something."
He told Ian, who was somewhat worried: "Don’t bother saying ’if you feel it’s dangerous, you don’t have to go’—where in this world is there a place more dangerous than where you are facing the Fifth Energy Level powerhouse?"
"I will depart now."
Before leaving, Yisen Gard gave Ian a hint.
"If Axel’s brainwashing truly relies on immortality to perform."
He speculated: "Then, perhaps the immortality of great-grandfather still retains considerable vitality—part of it in the hands of the carapace, part within me as a bloodline inheritor, and another part probably drifting across this world."
"Trying to connect to this immortality might yield wondrous effects."
Due to Yisen Gard’s previous, highly reliable speculations, especially the likelihood that his thought pattern was the experimental result of replicating the Black Emperor’s thought pattern, Ian chose to believe it.
Coupled with Adalbert’s earlier speculations, Ian came up with the best method to directly connect with the possible immortality of ’Inega II’.
That is, to be brainwashed himself!
Meanwhile.
Canaan Moore.
Ian’s avatar, located in World Tree City, suddenly awakened.
"Ian?"
Observing Ian’s duel with Axel in the sky, Anfa was surprised to shake her head. The Elf Princess had never imagined her friend could both confront a Fifth Energy Level opponent and transfer consciousness to her side.
But knowing Ian well, she quickly calmed down: "Is there anything I can help with?"
"Take me beyond the sheltering range of World Tree City."
Awakening, Ian’s avatar moved his joints a bit; although his avatar’s strength was minimal, he suppressed the transferred power to the lowest: "Make it as fast as possible..."
Crash!
Accompanied by the crisp sound of shattering glass, Ian was carried within the embrace of Anfa, who expanded her Dragon Wings, flying at ten times the speed of sound and accelerating further, bursting through the Ashlight Family’s window and smashing through World Tree City’s observation wall, straight towards the edge of Gaia Plains.
Without the slightest hesitation, Anfa completely trusted Ian’s choice, so she acted immediately the moment she spoke.
It wouldn’t be this straightforward... But it’s fine, as long as the results are good. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Soon, Ian arrived at an area not sheltered by World Tree City, a vast hilly region.
He separated from Anfa and stood alone on the hill, sensing the continuous Spirit Energy resonance.
Ian’s consciousness submerged into the Spirit World, deep within the Domain of Void.
Like a universe, in the pitch-black sea of the mind, a cyan sun was quietly burning, emitting its light, illuminating the void, while layers of seven-colored rainbow light flowed like the Milky Way streaming in deep space.
Ian’s consciousness delved into this Milky Way, seeking to trace upstream and find the possible ’Inega Immortality’.
At that moment, the Guiding Star started rotating.
[Pioneer Platform] began resonating too.
Cyan light suddenly illuminated, and Ian, shocked, gazed at the void.
Because he sensed—Ian sensed his Aether True Body, Pioneer Platform, had found a ’Suitable Candidate’.
A ’Pioneer’.
The vague Spirit World lightly trembled, and Ian turned back.
Then, he saw.
Saw a slender figure with golden hair.
