Abandoned by the Alpha, I Became the Lycan King's Mate-Chapter 379 Common Stomach Disease?
[Margaret’s Perspective]
"But this Brand guy..."
Levi, with one hand pressing Brand, who struggled aimlessly on the ground, started to say something, but the next second he was abruptly interrupted by Henry’s harsh voice!
"I said, leave him alone! Go quickly!"
Hearing this, Levi looked up at Henry. Despite his deep dissatisfaction with Henry ordering him around, seeing me in severe pain, sweating profusely, and curled up, he held back his anger and stood up to head toward the door.
With no one holding him back, Brand quickly got up, approached me with a worried tone, and asked, "How are you, Margaret? You... "
"Get lost! Stay away from her!" Henry glanced sideways at Brand and commanded in a grim voice.
I lacked the energy to respond to Brand; all my strength was consumed by enduring the severe pain in my lower abdomen.
I bit my lip to keep from crying out in pain, but I didn’t realize that such an act was useless, for anyone could see how much pain I was in from the cold sweat on my face and my pained expression!
At this point, Brand dared not say much more, as he could see I urgently needed the Medical Practitioner. As for whether the Medical Practitioner would discover my secret, he could not worry about that now.
It had only been a few minutes, but it felt like several centuries to me.
The Medical Practitioner, brought in by Levi, nodded slightly to Henry and then knelt down to carefully analyze my condition.
After a moment, the Medical Practitioner looked up at Henry and bluntly said, "It looks like an acute stomach ailment. I recommend taking the patient to the hospital for treatment, otherwise she will continue to suffer like this!"
"Can’t you treat her here? Does it have to be the hospital?" Henry asked the Medical Practitioner with narrowed eyes, his tone oppressively inquisitive.
The Medical Practitioner bowed his head affirmatively, "Yes, young master, this kind of ailment can be minimally or highly dangerous; it’s urgent. I suggest you make a decision immediately!"
After the Medical Practitioner had spoken, Brand cast a deep glance at him from the corner of his eye before finally turning back to look at the silent Henry.
"You must have known Margaret for a long time? You should know what kind of person she is. If she wasn’t truly unable to bear it, she wouldn’t show weakness like this! Please, help her, I beg you!"
Brand spoke earnestly, his gaze filled with pleading as he looked at Henry.
Henry, who had been ignoring Brand from the start, snorted softly in response and then immediately bent down to lift me from the ground, his voice cold as he told the Medical Practitioner beside him, "You’d better pray that your judgment is correct, or else you know what comes next."
The Medical Practitioner, hearing this, quickly nodded in respect and hurried to match Henry’s swift stride as they left.
Seeing this, Brand’s spirits lifted. He was just about to get up and follow but was stopped by Levi, who was beside him, "Do you think this is your backyard where you can come and go as you like? Stay put and don’t move, or I’ll kill you!"
After speaking, Levi also turned and left, leaving Brand alone in the basement, standing there seemingly lost in thought.
Later, the hospital’s Medical Practitioner told me that when Henry carried me out of the basement, I had passed out from the pain!
At that time, I just listened quietly without saying much, thinking disdainfully in my heart: If I had been conscious, I wouldn’t have let Henry come even a little close to me!
The hospital on Poison Snake Island is not very big; it’s rather like a well-secured courtyard than a hospital.
When Henry got out of the car, he held me in his arms again, with Levi following quietly behind until the Medical Practitioner brought out a crash cart, then Henry finally let go and placed me on it.
"She is a very important captive; watch her closely! If she escapes, everyone in this yard will be buried with her," Henry stated, looking at the Medical Practitioner who had made the suggestion, his eyes cold and frightening.
The Medical Practitioner swallowed hard at these words and nodded, uttering a ’yes’, before he and the nurse quickly wheeled me away!
"What in the world is going on here? Didn’t your people just take her away? How did it come to this in such a short time?"
Levi’s voice, filled with confusion, sounded as he stood by Henry, his gaze towards the hospital doors.
Henry slightly exhaled and, after a pause of 2 seconds, turned to face Levi and explained, "It wasn’t my people who brought her here; I guess it was Lillian, though she must have been used by someone else too."
Henry’s eyes dimmed as he spoke, and after pondering, he continued, "Did Margaret get hurt when she came over from the sea? Don’t you think this stomach disease struck very suddenly?"
"Didn’t you just say it didn’t seem like an ordinary stomach problem? I thought you already had a diagnosis; didn’t you?"
