A Wrong Surrogate for the CEO-Chapter 24: She’ll Ruin Him

Lara was suddenly quiet. She stared at him for a while. Is he saying that idiot hurts her that much? No, he might not have loved her but he definitely wouldn’t have prevented her from getting pregnant.

But...Lara remembered something and gazed at Curtis Rodney sharply. Her eyes went moist and she remembered a few things. Was he saying the truth?

"What...are you...saying?" Lara stuttered. At this time, her eyes had gone reddened. She blinked, trying to hold back her tears.

"Only my sperm was capable of getting you pregnant. He’d poisoned you to the extent that you have almost lost your ability to be a mother.

And your ignorant mind would prefer losing the pregnancy? Do you know the efforts I put into place to have that sperm produced in its highest viable state, do you?

They both almost made you lose the pregnancy a while ago. Wouldn’t they have succeeded in making you a childless infertile woman?

I won’t stop you anymore, go out and do whatever you want. But in a couple of weeks, I’ll have another sperm inseminated into a more decent woman of my choice" Curtis seethed.

He suddenly decided to act gentle with her because she’d suffered a lot of injustice from her ex husband and friend. He witnessed a little of it that day.

And she goes about, thinking of herself too highly than she should. She’s not even a pure woman, she’s not extremely fertile and innocent.

Lara didn’t say anything. Curtis Rodney stood up, "It’s late tonight, tomorrow tell me your decision. I will stick to it, that’s my decision" and strode away.

That night, Lara couldn’t sleep. She felt sickly all of a sudden. Her body shook from the pain of betrayal. Is that why they think she couldn’t have a child, that she would never have a child in this life.

Yes, he would offer her a glass of tea after sex sometimes. It’s not often, but at least twice in a week except they didn’t have sex. Was he destroying her uterus or making his sperm die off too soon?

Lara agreed and got into the room. She got in and found a king bed with a beautiful pink flowered bedspread.

The room was large and at the extreme was a sofa, big enough for her to pass the night as well. At the other end was the closet. She stepped closer and opened it to find the latest limited edition of designers hung there.

She closed it back. Who was this meant for? Has he always brought women to live in the mini villa?

"Has someone lived here before?" Lara asked. She turned away from the closet and was thinking of how she’ll get a dress to change into after taking a bath, at least a night dress.

"No, you’re the first person who is going to stay here" Benny responded. She folded her arms behind her and followed Lara around, perhaps she would need something or have a few more questions to ask.

Lara paused when she heard her. She turned and gazed at her with an unbelieving stare. How can she say nobody ever stays there? Then whose clothes are these?

"Believe it or not, Miss Lara, Mr Curtis made this place but we don’t know who and why he did it. You’re the first person to occupy this mini villa" Benny explained.

Lara shrugged and went to stay before the transparent glass window. Then she asked again "Whose clothes are these in the closet?"

"They’re yours ma’am. Mr Curtis had an expert pick these clothes for you and said we must ensure that you are comfortable" she replied.

Lara stiffened. He did all that because of the babies?

Next morning, Curtis stepped out of the villa when Benny went to him, to inform him that Lara wants to speak with him. He glanced towards the mini villa and saw her standing by the door, staring at him.

With an expressionless face, he nodded. Lara walked towards him, she cannot help but agree that he is stunningly cute and charming.

He was cladded in a black tuxedo, surrounded by his bodyguards and Lazarus Doe holding his briefcase. His scruffy beards added more cuteness to his chiseled jawline.

The bodyguards all stepped aside, and Lazarus Doe did the same. Curtis Rodney waited, his eyes drifting to Lara’s belly. The thought of being a father soon excited him.

"Good morning Mr Curtis"Lara said, her tone calm and her looks composed. She appeared to be different from that feisty woman he’d known.

"Good morning" he replied, feeling a little impatient. He has an important meeting that morning. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"You and I need to talk," Lara requested. She has come to a compromise. She needs him to get back at those who destroyed and wasted her time and love and he wants her as his baby’s surrogate mother.

"Alright. But, can you meet me in the office before noon?" Curtis requested and Lara shook her head. "No, I can’t make it. I have an appointment"

Curtis squinted but didn’t enforce it on her. "Then maybe tonight. Be careful you should spend more time resting now" he insinuated.

"I’ll be careful, promise" Lara assured. Curtis Rodney nodded, and Lara turned around, walking back to the villa.

Lazarus Doe swallowed hard. Looks like taming this woman was not as difficult as he had thought after all. Mr Curtis knows just how to tame this fiery woman.

A gush of relief flushed down Lara’s spine. Somehow she felt relieved. Maybe she should just remain in the house, sign the contract but refuse to take anything with her.

Quickly she took a bath and picked a dress from the closet. She glanced at herself in the mirror and was amazed at the stunning woman that stared back at her.

She saw herself but beyond that she found that beauty that appeared lost all these years. Looks like it’s time she gets herself back to who she used to be.

She’d lost herself in love. She forgot herself and only prioritised Mike Blake and his desires above hers. What did she get in return, backstabbing and the most inhumane treatment.

Did Mike ever love her in the beginning or was she too blinded not to notice it or see how fake his claims were back then.

How could she be this gullible and call it love?
