A Wrong Surrogate for the CEO-Chapter 22: Trapped

It will take a lot of effort to put things straight and back to normal. But then, for the time being,she has to compromise to make sure others do not lose their jobs.

As they approached a roundabout, the chauffeur took a turn that led to a structure that she could sight from a distance. It’s a beautiful villa, with tall giant gates. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

The path that led towards the villa was tared and while still in admiration, she saw the giant gate was opened and the chauffeur drove into the vast compound of the beautiful villa.

She could see the finest of flowers, well trimmed and beautifully planted all over. Villa was situated in a strategic place on the land while there was a plantation, an orchard she could sight from the distance.

She couldn’t see beyond the extent her sight could capture. The villa was made of the best architectural design she’d ever seen. The walls were made of beautiful marble and Lara could only imagine the beauty of the interior.

The car came to a stop at a large spacious parking lot. The large area of land used as the parking lot was not too far from the garage where Lara knows without doubt, houses other cars.

The door was open and Lazarus Doe informed "I’ll take you to your quarters" he declared. Lara knows that the sight before her almost made her dwindle.

She followed him and he took her to a structure that appears to be an annex to the main villa. Is it a boys quarters or a smaller size Villa compared to the main villa.

"This will be your place for now, until Mr Curtis decides otherwise. Benny will help you settle in properly and whatever you need, don’t hesitate to contact me or Mr Curtis.." Lazarus explained.

He sighed softly. They’ve come this far. He hoped this stubborn woman would accept Mr Curtis Rodney’s generosity and let go of her temper whenever she saw him.

He stepped into the mini villa and paused in the sitting room. Did she even know him by name? He’ll do a formal, proper introduction before leaving.

Mr Curtis has hand picked Benny to be her personal maid. That woman is older and she has a great level of tolerance and patience. Only such people can be by Lara Edmund’s side.

Other people have been moved into the mini villa. She’ll have her meal specially prepared to nurse the well-being of his unborn babies.

Lara stepped in and momentarily almost lost her breath. Such a furnished sitting room? She glanced at the walls, the floor, the lightning, the furniture and as he swallowed hard.

She quickly looked away from the beautiful sitting room and focused her gaze on Lazarus Doe sharply. They mustn’t think she’s impressed with the expensive sitting room and its decor.

"How long am I being trapped in this enclosure?" Lara asked, her gaze not blinking at all. Someone who once got an instruction to shot her if he sight her anywhere around the Millennium entertainment center now brings her to a villa, she shouldn’t be smiling or give an impression of being impressed.

Lazarus Doe was caught off guard by Lara’s words? Did she say ’trapped, enclosure?’ What kind of a woman has Curtis encountered as his baby’s mamma?

Benny choked on her saliva. She coughed slightly. This woman is not impressed by these beautiful quarters Mr Curtis made for her?

"I don’t know. You can ask Mr Curtis when he gets back" Lazarus finally found his words. Looks like only Curtis Rodney can really deal with this woman.

"Fine. I’ll sit here until he comes. You tell your boss that I am waiting for him to talk, otherwise, I’ll step out and return to my apartment" she declared.

Benny stood by the sidelines. Wouldn’t this woman be a difficult client to work with? Why had Mr Curtis chosen to punish her by giving her another client besides himself?

"It’s noted ma’am," Lazarus declared. He hopes she doesn’t attempt something stupid because none of the security officials would let her out without an instruction from the boss.

With that Lara sat down on the exquisite sofa and she swallowed hard silently. It’s so cozy and soft. Awww, she looked like it.

"Anyways, you’ve not really known me. I’m Lazarus Doe, Curtis Rodney personal assistant and confidant..."he introduced himself.

Lara nodded and crossed her legs. She wants them to leave so she can have a proper look at the house.

Benny and Lazarus exchanged glances. Just a nod of the head after Lazarus introduced himself?

"I’ll be on my way then" Lazarus announced and stepped out. As soon as he shut the door behind him, he glanced back and sighed.

What would the nearest future be like?

Then Lara’s phone chirped. She glanced at it, it was Kayla. She sighed. Kayla must definitely have been worried about her all day.

"Hello Kayla," Lara said as soon as she answered the phone. She closed her eyes temporarily. How will she explain things to her about what happened that day?

"Hello Lara. Are you alright? You weren’t interviewed, Kasper Jalo just informed me that you came but evil people schemed against you. Where are you now, girlfriend...? Kayla stuttered.

Lara sighed softly. Which of Kayla’s questions does she answer first? A lot of them came at a stretch.

"Yeah, I was there but not interviewed. But I was attacked by Mike and Tolu and I ended up in the hospital...." Lara was saying when Kayla interrupted her.

"You were what, those good for nothing bastards attacked you? Do you know where they are, I’m going to fight them and break their nose.." she was angry.

"Just leave them alone. But if you can, can you help me get another interview in that company? I want to see Tolu lose face when I become a colleague of hers..." Lara Edmund requested.

"Sure, Kasper would help out. But don’t be so nice to those scumbags. After what they’ve done to you, you still wouldn’t want to fight back?" Kayla reprimanded her.

Oh goodness, a man cannot do that to her. She would jump on him and bite his genitals until it bleeds and scratch the woman’s face so that she wouldn’t step out of her door for many days.

"They don’t deserve my time right now. That time will come when I face them and call them out for a fight. But now, let me concentrate my time and energy on getting a good job to take care of myself and my un..." Lara was saying and suddenly paused.

It isn’t time for Kayla to know about the unborn baby. She shouldn’t disclose that information to her yet, especially now, that she hadn’t come to an agreement with Curtis Rodney.

"You’re a good person Lara. Send me your address, I’m coming over..." Kayla requested.

Lara suddenly went silent.
