A Transmigrated Princess's Guide To A Fluffy Royal Life!-Chapter 64: Not Without Answers
Chapter 64: Not Without Answers
"I said no boring drama," Fluffy replied, floating upside down.
’He shouldn’t know that stuff, Fluffy. I didn’t even tell you that story. The hair. The stars. That night.’
Fluffy grew quiet.
"That’s true."
’So what is he? A time traveler? An angel? A prince possessed by a ghost?’
"Or someone whose soul *matched* yours, once," Fluffy whispered.
That didn’t help.
It made everything worse.
Evelisse didn’t sleep well. Not because she was scared—because she was angry.
She didn’t want to be seen like that again. Not by anyone. Not even a prince with starlit eyes and polite bows.
Especially not him.
The next morning, breakfast was a royal event. Everyone had glowing pastries and floating tea cups.
Evelisse poked her syrup cloud.
"Someone woke up cranky," Jared muttered.
"I did not," she said, stabbing a marshmallow.
Caelith entered the room.
Everyone greeted him warmly.
Evelisse? She looked directly at her teacup.
"Princess Evelisse," Caelith greeted. "Did you sleep well?"
"Like a fox in a thunderstorm," she replied sweetly.
Fluffy cackled.
Lucien nearly spit out his drink.
"I’ll take that as a ’not really’," Caelith murmured, still smiling.
He sat beside her.
’Why me?’ she thought again. ’Why does fate keep targeting me?’
Because she was just a girl trying to earn affection points.
Not unlock interdimensional crushes.
Caelith reached for a bread roll.
She pushed the jam his way.
Silence.
Then he said it.
"Would you like to take a walk with me after breakfast?"
She stared at him.
He was calm. Casual. Like they were old friends.
Her heart did the thing again.
"No, thank you," she replied, as politely as she could.
Jared whistled softly.
Seraphina raised a brow.
Caelith simply nodded. "Another time then."
She wanted to scream. To vanish.
Instead, she reached for her juice and nearly knocked the entire table over.
Snugglewuff barked.
Lucien caught her cup.
"...You sure you slept at all?"
She exhaled sharply.
And the truth spilled in her head like ink in water.
That prince—knew too much.
And she wasn’t going to let fate tangle her in another web.
Not without answers.
So she made a plan.
After lunch.
After tea.
After she had exactly six cookies to fuel her courage.
She found him in the palace gardens, alone, standing by a reflective pond where silver fish darted beneath lily glass.
She stepped up.
He turned.
"Princess Evelisse."
She folded her arms. "How do you know what you know?"
Caelith smiled softly. "I was wondering when you’d ask."
She glared. "Don’t give me a riddle."
"I won’t. I’ll give you a truth. But it may sound like a lie."
"I can handle it."
He exhaled. "The night I was born, I stopped breathing. For three minutes, they said. I came back... different. I remember things. Lives. Pain. Joy. Some of it isn’t mine."
Evelisse stared.
"And sometimes," he continued, "I remember people I haven’t met. But should’ve."
Her voice was barely a whisper. "You saw a bald and weak girl."
"I saw you."
The wind shifted.
And the next words hit her like thunder.
"You were dying. But you kept dreaming. Of light. Of being free. Of living again."
Tears pricked her eyes.
Not from sadness.
From memory.
She hated how much it felt like the truth.
He stepped back.
"I won’t trouble you again. I only wanted to know... that you made it. That you lived."
And he walked away.
Evelisse stood there.
Heart pounding.
Tears falling.
Snugglewuff whined beside her.
Fluffy floated into view.
"I think you just met someone who saw the real you... even when you forgot who that was."
She wiped her eyes and let Snugglewuff wander out at the smell of some baked goodies.
And looked up.
The stars weren’t out yet.
But she could feel them watching.
The garden smelled of nightbloom petals and sun-warmed stone. Silver fish flitted beneath the still surface of the koi pond, scattering like droplets of moonlight. Evelisse rubbed her eyes with the sleeve of her robe, her emotions tangled like a bird’s nest.
She hadn’t meant to cry.
Not in front of Fluffy. Not in front of herself.
Not because of him.
But here she was.
Standing in a garden that glowed with fading dusk, confused, tired, and somehow cracked open like a diary someone else had read without permission.
She turned sharply on her heel.
’No. I need to end this confusion. Right now.’
Fluffy hovered at shoulder level, swirling softly. "He’s probably near the orchard. Royal boys with dreamy eyes always gravitate to flowers, you know."
’I thought that was just you.’
"Touché."

The garden path twisted through glowing vines, past a row of singing lilies and toward a smaller grove behind the courtyard.
There.
Sitting cross-legged on a bench carved from petrified wood, surrounded by floating petal lanterns—was Caelith.
His shoes were off.
His hands were full of wild blossoms.
He didn’t notice her right away. He was carefully weaving the stems together, brows furrowed in delicate concentration.
Evelisse stepped closer, then cleared her throat.
He looked up.
Not surprised.
Only warm.
"Hello again."
Her chest tightened.
"You’re always finding flower patches to sit in," Evelisse muttered.
Caelith looked up and smiled. "Maybe I was hoping one would lead you here."
Evelisse made a face. "You sound like you were raised by romantic poets."
"I might have been."
"I... was wondering if you’d explain something to me," she began, quietly.
"I thought you might." He nodded slowly, gesturing to the bench beside him.
She hesitated. Then sat.
Caelith held out a half-finished crown of soft pink flowers. "I was trying to remember how my nursemaid used to do this."
She blinked at it.
"Are you giving me flowers?"
"Technically, it’s not done yet," he replied, setting it aside. "But yes."
"...Why?"
He smiled gently. "Because I’m glad I got to meet you. The real you. The you who kept going when everything inside you screamed not to."
Evelisse looked away.
"That wasn’t easy," she murmured. "Being... her. And now being me."
"I know," he said. "That’s why I wanted to thank you."
She blinked. "Thank me?"
