A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods-Chapter 550: Song of the Two Races

"[You might be wondering what I am talking about when it comes to this. It’s not obvious, right? But as you can see, the song you are holding is not complete. It is long, but it wasn’t complete in the slightest. It is waiting for the missing piece that will allow the song to be completed.]"

Elaina was surprised. Not in the slightest did she think that the long song written in the booklet was still incomplete.

"Does that mean you decided to complete the song?" Elaina asked, curious as to what the God of Music decided to do when he disappeared for a few days. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

"[Not really, no. I instead analyzed the song, played it, and determined the song’s use alone and if it is complete. I also analyzed the lyrics that were encrypted and hidden along the music sheet itself. One would think that this music sheet was only made by an elf, but after my analysis, I soon realized that wasn’t the main case.]"

"Don’t tell me the main author of this song is not actually an elf..." Elaina guessed half-heartedly, she doubts that is even the main case of this one.

"[Not this music sheet, but the incomplete part should be.]"

"Huh?"

"[The one written on the booklet is indeed written by an elf. However, the other half that would complete the song itself is not made by an elf. It is made by a different species altogether. It was a collaborative effort of two species.]"

"Wait...don’t tell me... The other half is a dragon?"

"[You guessed it correctly! A dragon indeed! But how did you know? I have to do some research to make sure I was right. But you did guess it. But how?]"

Elaina already got an inkling about it considering that the song itself is hidden in a hidden chest underneath the World Tree. If that is the main case, then the one closest to the elves at world tree is none other than the Dragon since the Pixies came a lot later than the dragon who is already a guardian of the World Tree. And Elaina suspects that the dragon that was meant to complete the song is none other than the Dragon Knight who almost killed the two world tree due to his blood.

"Just a hunch. So, it is a song of a dragon and an elf. But was that all there is to it? There’s no way this is made just for performing music when there is an effect like this."

"[Correct. There is indeed a deeper meaning on what they are trying to do. Right now, the song only shows changes in the surroundings and that is all there is to it and nothing else. However, because of my investigation, I did realize that there is indeed a missing piece that would trigger the song’s true purpose and the fact that the only missing piece is also the remaining half of the song is enough to say that this is something that is deliberately done.]"

Elaina nodded. Although it won’t be connecting her closer to the elves, just knowing that they left a legacy or some sort makes the search closer to the Elves. And who knows? Perhaps, the song itself is another missing piece that is needed to unveil the mystery of the elves.

"So, how do I complete the song?" Elaina asked.

"[Normally, you won’t be able to do it, but because I am here, I will give you the incomplete transcibed notes that can be worth to play with. It should be identical to the current music that is missing in this music sheet but due to the fact that I forcefully transcribe something and guessed a few parts to make it complete, the song’s true meaning won’t appear and won’t be showing signs of getting used. It will become a temporary template for the time being.]"

"Is there any clue on who this dragon was?"

"None that I can think of. The only thing that I know is that this dragon should know how to play a harmonica. Most dragons are not that knowledgeable in music instruments due to their abilities vastly focuses on stuff like killing enemies, monster slaying, and even using magic. Those are the usual masteries a dragon have but if that dragon knows how to play some kind of instruments and is quite proficient in harmonica, then perhaps you will find that dragon itself. The problem is...is that dragon still alive? And if it is, where would you even start when dragons have long been hiding from humans long ago?]"

Elaina smiled. "I do have an idea where to find one, the only problem is if I found the right one in the first place. Other than that, I don’t think it is a big problem at all."

The God of Music is impressed by Elaina. "[Well, in that case, let’s help you master your potential fast. A proper guidance is what you lack to fully prosper and become a proper musician. You got the fundamentals going but you lack the finese and techniques. Therefore, you will have to do some of these techniques with utmost proper way, under my guidance!]"

And so, before Elaina heads over to find the other half of the song, she started to get tutored by the God of Music about proper ways to play thr harmonica. Elaina has no idea what good does it do to actually play these music instruments in the first place but she didn’t decline learning on them. She is pretty much open about this topic and is willing to properly learn.

Two weeks after getting tutored by the God of Music, Elaina has become quite proficient in playing the harmonica. It was a very proficient way of playing that one would not think Elaina was a mere beginner that has not played the harmonica not even once in her entire life.

Now, Elaina plays the harmonica like an expert, she even got to play calm music all by herself without messing it up. She even managed to make her own way of playing some of the music she heard in bands by transmitting it on harmonica. In short, she has become the expert that she thought she won’t become.

The God of Music already ended her lessons related to harmonica as she have learned all the fundamentals and other harmonica expertise she should learn. According to him, he will return again to teach Elaina if she decided to learn to play another instrument once more.

Thanks to the great help of the God Of Music, the music sheet for the harmonica is now something that Elaina can play by herself and have the surroundings manifest the magic it conceals. Elaina even managed to pass the passage where Adelaide is having trouble with and finished playing the music all by herself.

However, like the God of Music have said, there is nothing special about the music at the moment. Not until the music sheet is complete. As it is right now, the music can manifest changes in the environment like a way to tweak the surrounding’s vibes and have it accompany the music. But that is all there it is to it.

One thing is for sure though, the music’s theme is sad. It starts off lively at first but the moment it passes the first stanza, the music dramatically changes its tone. From then on, melancholy is manifesting along the light rain whenever she plays the music’s latter part.

She wants to know what the music’s meaning is all about and how it somehow convey’s the feelings. She can feel the melancholy and sadness in the music but is that all there is to it?

Elaina decided that it is time for her to start the task. Days have already passed since the World Tree incident, by now, the Dragon Knight has recovered. If her assumption is correct, perhaps the dragon knight is the person she is looking for.
