A second chance with my billionaire husband-Chapter 1669 - 352: Rising Through Beauty, Met With Contempt (Part 2)
Doctor Hua carried his medicine chest and walked out the door with Yun Ya. There was a black sedan parked outside, and a man personally opened the car door with a humble gesture.
Doctor Hua tossed the medicine chest to Yun Ya, bent down, and climbed in.
"What are you standing there for? Get in!" Doctor Hua shouted to Yun Ya, who was frozen at the car door.
Yun Ya glanced at the man beside her and bent down to get in.
The man closed the door and opened the front passenger door to sit inside. The car slowly drove away, led by a car in front and guarded by cars behind, resembling a leadership parade, quite grand.
The car took a tour around Capital City and finally headed to the mountain in the West Suburb. The scenery here was beautiful, the air fresh. From the foot of the mountain, Yun Ya noticed that security was particularly tight, with guards and police dogs patrolling everywhere.
On the mountain was a large sanatorium. At the entrance, the man showed identification before the vehicle was allowed through.
Arriving at the sanatorium, the two got out of the car, and a man and a woman in black suits stepped out, following protocol to frisk the two. Doctor Hua widened his eyes: "What’s the meaning of this?"
The man waved his hand at them: "Doctor Hua, don’t be angry. These two don’t know the rules and have offended you. Please forgive them."
The two exchanged a glance and apologized to Doctor Hua.
"Forget it, can’t be bothered with you." Doctor Hua waved his hand, heading inside, but the woman suddenly blocked Yun Ya: "Doctor Hua can skip the frisking, but this woman must be searched. It’s our duty. If anything happens to the sir, no one can bear the responsibility."
Qiao Yi furrowed his brows, glancing at Yun Ya.
Yun Ya smirked: "You want to frisk me, suspecting I’m carrying dangerous items? You think I want to be here?"
"Uncle Master, play your own games. I have no leisure to indulge in such boring games." With that, she turned and walked away.
"If you don’t trust us, why call me to examine? Aren’t you afraid I’ll poison that stubborn old man? Hum... Yun Ya, wait for me." Doctor Hua snorted coldly and chased after her.
Qiao Yi glared at the woman: "No sense at all."
With that, he chased after them.
The woman bit her lip: "It’s our job, even if the Prime Minister comes, he must be frisked."
The other man glanced at her: "Forget it, Doctor Hua is the sir’s friend. The sir has said, if he’s here, don’t need so many rules. If the Divine Doctor wanted to harm him, he wouldn’t have lived until now."
"But that woman isn’t Doctor Hua, why can’t she be frisked? What if she’s harmful to the sir, or a spy from another side? We’d be too late to regret."
"You’re overthinking it, she’s the Divine Doctor’s person. You still don’t trust Doctor Hua?"
Qiao Yi caught up and after some convincing apologies managed to bring the two back, having the woman personally apologize to Yun Ya, thus settling the issue.
Thinking of herself as a senior agent in the National Security Bureau, having to apologize to a little girl? If word got out, where would her dignity go?
"Qiao Jiu...." Qiao Yi’s gaze sank, containing a warning.
Qiao San nudged her.
Qiao Jiu bit her lip, reluctantly lowered her head: "Sorry."
Yun Ya smiled, with an air of superiority: "It’s just your job."
Clearly not intending to quibble with her.
Qiao Jiu clenched her fists tightly.
After the few left, Qiao San stroked his chin: "That girl is really pretty."
Qiao Jiu glared at him: "Are you blind?" What’s pretty about her, all scheming and deceit.
Qiao San shrugged, glanced at Qiao Jiu, and said: "I’m not blind, but come to think of it, this girl looks somewhat familiar...."
Suddenly his eyes lit up: "I finally remember, she’s the Prime Minister Yan’s daughter-in-law."
Qiao Jiu’s brows furrowed: "Another one using beauty to climb up."
"To be precise, she’s the future daughter-in-law, recently engaged to Prime Minister Yan’s eldest son. I’m telling you, this girl has quite the background, she’s the president of Ji’s no less, and also a world-renowned Dr. Nyx, a high IQ beauty, hmm, I like."
Qiao Jiu had heard of this but paid no mind to it, unexpectedly seeing her in person today, scoffing at it: "I think it’s more of hype, what can someone so young do?"
"It’s really not hype, Dr. Nyx has been famous for so long, you dare say it’s hype? Even the international medical community openly praises her as a medical genius, a light of the world. Such extraordinary individuals can’t be judged by common sense."
Qiao Jiu snorted lightly, stubborn: "You just keep praising that pretty face."
Qiao San chuckled: "Women, always jealous...."
"Am I jealous of her? Ha...."
"She’s smarter, richer, higher-educated, more admired, marries better, and more importantly, more beautiful than you spanning a whole Galaxy."
With Qiao San’s words, Qiao Jiu’s face filled with anger, glaring at him: "You’re asking for it...."
Qiao Yi led the two to a room on the second floor, gently knocking on the door: "Sir, Doctor Hua is here."
A weak voice inside replied: "Please come in." Yun Ya heard a trace of hidden excitement in that voice.
Qiao Yi pushed the door open, Doctor Hua coughed lightly, striding inside.
Yun Ya carried the medicine chest and was about to follow when Qiao Yi suddenly extended his arm to block her.
Yun Ya raised a brow, Doctor Hua glanced back at her, signaling her to wait at the door, then walked inside with hands behind his back.
Yun Ya pursed her lips, sat on the sofa aside, while Qiao Yi stood straight guarding the door.
On the bed lay a lifeless old man, hair white, beard also white without a trace of black. At the sight of Doctor Hua, he half propped himself up excitedly: "You... you finally came to see me."
"Just checking if you’re still alive." Doctor Hua snorted lightly, walked over, holding his hand to take his pulse, pulled out a medicine box, and pushed a pill into his mouth.
"Temporarily won’t die yet."
With that, he sat down on the nearby sofa.
The old man coughed a few times, then looked at Doctor Hua: "Old Hua, all these years, how have you been?"
"Couldn’t be better, food tastes perfect." Doctor Hua raised an eyebrow.
"That’s good." The old man sighed, gazing at the ceiling: "Sometimes I dream about when we were young; back then you were impulsive, wanted to forcibly marry the girl you liked, scared her away...."
"How many years ago was that, is there really any point in talking about it?" Doctor Hua rolled his eyes.
"Last night... I dreamt of her." He suddenly said.
"It’s been years since I last dreamt of her... I can barely remember her face, she’s still blaming me... blaming me...." Saying so, he coughed heavily.
Doctor Hua sighed: "Alright, don’t talk so much, you recuperate, as long as I’m alive, I won’t let you die."
He suddenly grasped Doctor Hua’s hand: "I... I’ve lived long enough, I called you here, just to ask, where exactly is her grave?"
"Why, you want to die with her? Dream on...." Doctor Hua sneered.
"I just want to see her one more time, would you not grant me this one last wish?"
Doctor Hua shrugged: "Unfortunately, I don’t know either."
"Not possible, back then you were clearly by her side?"
Doctor Hua sneered coldly: "Qiao Bowen, you really are senile, even if I knew where her grave is, why should I tell you? You old scoundrel, if not for you, would she have died?"
