A second chance with my billionaire husband-Chapter 1537 - 295: Unbelievable—The Yangtze’s Rising Waves (Part 1)
The doctor was stunned for a moment; it seemed the other party was an expert.
Director Zhang shouted, "What are you standing there for? Hurry up and go!"
The doctor quickly turned around and ran.
At this moment, the sharp sound of high heels "click, click, click" echoed on the floor, inexplicably irritating given the tense atmosphere.
"Why the panic? I’ll handle the surgery." Qiao Wen’er spoke up.
As soon as she appeared, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Dr. Qiao was an expert in this field; with her involved, there was definitely no problem.
Before entering the operating room, Qiao Wen’er glanced in Ji Yunya’s direction, a hint of provocation in her eyes. Urged on by her assistant, she turned and entered the operating room.
Yun Ya curled her lips.
Director Zhang coughed and said, "Dr. Nyx, you see...."
"Director Zhang, please carry on with your work. I’ll wander around by myself."
Director Zhang had many things to handle and, after saying a few words, left. Wei Qing whispered, "Let me escort you out."
Yun Ya found a chair to sit down, curling her lips, "Let’s talk later."
Wei Qing didn’t know what she planned to do, so he sat with her, noticing her gaze fixated on the operating room entrance. He furrowed his brows and asked, "Is there a problem with the surgery?"
Yun Ya slightly raised her eyebrow.
At that moment, a group of people arrived, all looking quite important; both the elderly and the young surrounded the operating room entrance and began chattering away. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"How did Xiao Wei end up like this? My grandson...." An elderly woman with gray hair cried out in despair.
"Mom, don’t worry. I just inquired; the lead surgeon is an expert in this field. Xiao Wei will be fine." The speaker was a middle-aged man in business attire, presumably the father of the patient.
"What do you mean by expert? Can you guarantee they will wholeheartedly perform surgery on Xiao Wei? These so-called experts are just fame-seeking frauds." The middle-aged woman, dressed opulently, presumably the patient’s mother, spoke up.
The nurse came by to remind them several times that noise was prohibited in front of the operating room. The middle-aged man responded with hostility, "My son is lying in there. Who do you think you are? Get your hospital director over here."
The young nurse, recognizing their intimidating demeanor, knew better than to provoke them and quickly went back to consult the head nurse. The head nurse apologized a few times and then hurried to consult the director. Upon seeing who had come, Director Zhang realized it was the hospital’s largest medical supplier, President Chen. Indeed, the Dragon King Temple is flooded, and he thought if only he’d known earlier, he would’ve brought in the senior expert. Qiao Wen’er was still too inexperienced; he wasn’t sure if she could handle it.
"Who’s performing the surgery on my son?" President Chen asked gruffly.
Director Zhang wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, "The surgeon for your son is our hospital’s best surgical expert, Professor Qiao. She not only returned as a top student from overseas but is also an absolute leader in this field. With her involved, your son’s surgery will certainly be a success...."
Mrs. Chen took out her phone to search, "What’s her name?"
Director Zhang replied, "Qiao Wen’er."
Mrs. Chen suddenly screamed, "A woman in her twenties, already a professor, who are you trying to fool? Can she save my son? If anything happens to my son, your hospital better be ready to close down." Her tone was intimidating, and Director Zhang lamented internally but had to carefully navigate the situation, relentlessly praising how excellent Dr. Qiao was to the point of feeling guilty. He was well aware of Qiao Wen’er’s capabilities—she might have gained prestige abroad and been lucky to participate in a project that succeeded, but she was merely a fringe player in it. Upon returning to China, she thrived under the hospital director’s connections and further embellished herself on a television program, appearing formidable. However, like a bubble in the sunlight—beautiful at a glance yet easily burst.
Both President Chen and Mrs. Chen were formidable figures; he hoped Qiao Wen’er would be cautious and not mess it up....
"Rest assured, Mrs. Chen, I guarantee with my life, your son will absolutely be fine...." Director Zhang nearly knelt.
But Mrs. Chen was unmoved, snarling, "Pfft, what’s your life worth? Can it compare to my son’s? Let me tell you, if anything happens to my son, your hospital is doomed."
Director Zhang nodded repeatedly, appeasing continually.
Wei Qing pressed his lips tightly; it was rare to see Director Zhang so subservient. Mrs. Chen seemed to be quite influential. Thinking of Qiao Wen’er’s typically arrogant demeanor, then seeing Yun Ya remaining composed, Wei Qing suddenly smiled.
Dongfang Yunzhan and Chen Xuan stood aside, hardly daring to breathe. Truly, Dr. Nyx’s reputation precedes; even though she said nothing, the aura she exuded was overwhelming.
Director Zhang stealthily glanced in Ji Yunya’s direction, thinking to himself that Qiao Wen’er’s reputation was somewhat superficial. It might fool the uneducated, but someone like Mrs. Chen, involved in the pharmaceutical industry, was all too aware of the underlying tricks. Qiao Wen’er simply couldn’t meet their standards.
But the name Dr. Nyx should leave them speechless.
