A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality: Immortal Realm-Chapter 1310: Foul Mood
Chapter 1310: Foul Mood
The man standing atop the giant whale's back had a very pale complexion with a head of long and slightly curly blond hair.
There was a hint of redness in his eyes, making it appear as if he were in need of some rest, but his aura was extremely formidable, putting his late-Great Encompassment Stage cultivation base on full display.
"By big fish, are you referring to me or this spirit pet of mine?" the young man asked with a cold grin.
Despite his rather effeminate appearance, his voice was quite masculine.
"You can think of it as whichever one you like," Han Li replied in a casual manner as he took a glance up at the sky.
Just as he had feared, Violet Spirit and Shi Chuankong were unable to get away, having been stopped in their tracks by a spirit domain and several hundred Heavenly Court cultivators, all of which appeared to have been immortal envoys.
"Whichever one it is, it doesn't change the fact that you're going to be gobbled up like a small fry," the young man said in an indifferent manner.
"May I ask your name, Fellow Daoist?" Han Li asked.
"My name is Shui Changtian, and I've been ordered to capture you. Are you going to surrender yourself or make me capture you by force? Before you make your decision, let me tell you that not a single person that's been captured by my water prison hasn't lived to regret it," the young man said with a smile.
"That's a fine name, fit for a fine burial at sea," Han Li remarked, [1] then swept a sleeve through the air to release his seventy-two Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords, all of which came raining down onto the sea below.
Countless arcs of golden lightning erupted out of the swords before coming together to form an enormous sword array with a sea of lightning crashing and churning within.
A deafening thunderclap rang out as countless pillars of lightning as thick as water vats came crashing down from the heavens, and the giant whale let loose a low call as it reflexively sank a little into the water, seemingly quite fearful of these pillars of lightning.
"There's no need to fear, it's just a bit of Cardinal Heavenly Lightning," Shui Changtian said in a reassuring manner, then released his spear before thrusting a palm down toward the surface of the sea below.
A burst of dull rumbling rang out from the seabed, and all of the seawater within a radius of hundreds of thousands of kilometers instantly converged toward this area in a frenzy.
Countless swirling water spouts rose up around Shui Changtian to clash against the pillars of lightning crashing down from above, and a string of deafening explosions rang out as the entire area was filled with violent seawater and explosive golden lightning.
Shui Changtian looked up into the sky to see a dazzling ball of golden light, standing within which was Han Li, who had his arms crossed and was looking down at Shui Changtian with a cold expression.
He then took a glance in Violet Spirit and Shi Chuankong's direction, and at this point, they had already flown to hundreds of thousands of kilometers away, with all of the Heavenly Court cultivators hot on their trail.
With both of them a safe distance away, Han Li turned his gaze back to Shui Changtian as he said in a cold voice, "I'm in a very foul mood right now, so you've come to me at a very unfortunate time."
Immediately thereafter, he swept a sleeve through the air to release his time spirit domain, which encompassed the entire surrounding area within a radius of thousands of kilometers.
A bright moon and a bed of stars instantly appeared in the sky, while an enormous mountain range rose up from the seabed. Growing atop the mountain was a lush forest, and there was also a winding river that flowed into the sea.
However, the water in the river was fundamentally different from the water in the sea, and the former floated on top of the latter like a layer of oil on water.
Shui Changtian's brows furrowed tightly upon sensing the tremendous might of Han Li's Oneness Tier spirit domain, and he realized that he wasn't as well prepared as he should've been.
Having said that, this was hardly his fault, given that he had been told that Han Li was only at the early-Great Encompassment Stage, when in reality, he was clearly at the pinnacle of the mid-Great Encompassment Stage.
"I'm surprised that our Heavenly Court has allowed you to cultivate the laws of time to this extent, but unfortunately, you were doomed from the moment you embarked on this path," Shui Changtian said as a layer of blue light appeared over his body to ward off the power of Han Li's spirit domain.
He grabbed onto his spear again before swinging it through the air in a fluid motion, and his movements didn't appear to have been hampered at all by Han Li's time law powers.
With a flick of his wrist, the tip of his spear gently tapped against the surface of the sea below, and an enormous, blue halo instantly appeared before proliferating outward in all directions.
In the blink of an eye, the turbulent sea had become completely still, as if an almighty, invisible hand had just smoothed over its surface.
At the same time, the air currents flowing over the sea fell completely still, and even the flow of the world's origin qi in the area had become stagnant.
Han Li made a beckoning motion, and his seventy-two Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Swords instantly flew back to him before combining into one, and there were still arcs of golden lightning flashing over its surface, as if it were raring for more.
"Impressive. Somehow, you're able to emulate the power of spatial laws with your water law powers," Han Li remarked.
"I have the advantage of the natural environment on my side. This Black Wind Sea is far smaller than even the smallest sea in our Middle Earth Immortal Region, but I can still make use of it with my sea law powers, and it'll be more than enough for me to bring you down," Shui Changtian replied with a smile.
He then pointed his spear directly at Han Li from afar, and the entire sea was instantly split into two halves. The sea on Han Li's side remained as calm and still as before, while gargantuan, cataclysmic waves had appeared over the surface of the sea behind Shui Changtian, and they were crashing directly toward Han Li.
Han Li remained completely unfazed as he took a step forward before sweeping a sleeve through the air, and the massive mountain range behind him instantly rose up from the surface of the sea, then flew over his head before crashing into the oncoming barrage of enormous waves.
The waves crashed into the lush mountain range, and Han Li's time law powers instantly took effect, suspending the waves in mid-air to form an overhanging wall of water.

Immediately thereafter, Han Li rose up into the air to land on the tallest peak in the mountain range, then launched himself forward from there as he swung his Azure Bamboo Cloudswarm Sword through the air.
An enormous bolt of golden lightning came crashing down from the heavens, then transformed into a golden lightning sword projection that was dozens of kilometers in length before crashing down onto the surface of the sea below.
The sea was instantly parted down the middle to reveal the seabed below, and the golden sword projection didn't stop there as it cleaved an enormous, bottomless trench into the seabed, while gargantuan waves swept over the sea in all directions, quickly reaching tens of thousands of kilometers away.
The Heavenly Court cultivators had just surrounded Shi Chuankong and Violet Spirit, but their formation was thrown into a state of disarray by the oncoming waves.
Shi Chuankong and Violet Spirit immediately pounced on the opportunity to slay several immortal envoys and break free from the encirclement.
Violet Spirit took a glance in Han Li's direction to discover that an incredibly dense cloud of water vapor had taken shape in that direction, making it impossible for her to see him.
"Fellow Daoist Han should be fine on his own. Compared with him, we're the ones who need to be careful," Shi Chuankong cautioned.
Violet Spirit knew that he was right, but she still couldn't help but feel a little concerned for Han Li. Ever since they left the underworld, she could sense that he had been in a rather tumultuous state of mind.
Despite her concerns, she didn't dare to allow herself to get distracted, and she returned her full attention to the battle at hand. Otherwise, if they were overwhelmed and required Han Li to rescue them, then they would only be placing him in even more peril.
The sword strike unleashed by Han Li was extremely formidable, comparable in power to what he had previously been able to unleash using the Almighty Sword Array, but it had failed to strike its target as Shui Changtian was suddenly nowhere to be seen.
At this moment, it felt as if the entire sea were filled with Shui Changtian's aura, making it impossible for Han Li to track down his precise location.
Right at this moment, a gargantuan vortex suddenly appeared over the surface of the sea directly beneath Han Li, and it was giving tremendous suction force.
Han Li immediately rose up higher into the sky, but the vortex rose up along with him, threatening to devour him like the mouth of some colossal predator.
Swept up in the vortex, violent currents converged toward Han Li, exerting compressional force upon him from all directions.
A blue vortex had appeared around each of his hands and feet, and they were so powerful that Han Li was unable to struggle free from them. At the same time, the blue vortexes were moving away in different directions, attempting to tear his body apart.
Furthermore, tiny, corkscrew-shaped streams of water were surging into his orifices in a frenzy, and he was able to close his eyes and mouth to shut them out, but he was unable to cover his ears and nose with his hands, so the streams of water were able to force their way in.
Han Li felt a sharp pain in his ears and nostrils as streams of water that were imbued with sea law powers infiltrated his body.
1. Shui Chuangtian's surname 水 literally translates to water, hence the comment about how it's fitting for him to meet his demise at sea. ☜
