Chapter 186: IT HAPPENED

"Because I cared about you. I know that you are thinking everything is a lie, that you have been lied to for your entire life, but what I felt. What happened between us was real. It’s real for me..."

Killian looked at Dacre, a great sadness in his eyes, as he spoke. In this life, there was no place for them to be together.

In this world full of betrayals and schemes, where people backstabbed one another, he wanted to make it right for Dacre, at least for one last time. He deserved this after everything that he had put him through and his betrayal.

"Don’t lie to me..." Dacre looked angry. He was disappointed.

"Khaos is unable to shift because it will show his lycan form. He has been planning everything since the very beginning."

"There is no way my father doesn’t know that he has sheltered a lycan child."

Killian shook his head. "The supporters of lycan’s empire are everywhere, just because you don’t know about them, it doesn’t mean they are not existed." Killian then talked hastily. He told him about everything that he knew and he hoped this amount of information wouldn’t overwhelmed Dacre and he could grasp everything, since he didn’t think he would have the second chance to have this moment with him again.

Killian then talked about the beauty blood...

"Beauty blood?" Dacre furrowed his brows. He tried to understand what he was talking about, but everything came in rushing inside his mind, as if he was listening to a few people talked at the same time, the information he got from Killian was too much. He didn’t even have time to think whether he could trust it or not. "What do you mean with the beauty blood?"

Killian told him everything that he knew about the beauty blood.

This was why Khaos told Bryden to kill Killian, because the amount of information he had could be a danger for them once his loyalty was swayed and Khaos was right.

However, Bryden made a little mistake. A big one, if one could say. He didn’t order the murder right away. His exact command was for the other man to wait, to see whether he could break Killian out of the cell, or there was a way to salvage his situation.

Because in Bryden’s eyes, Killian’s position was too important. They got a lot of information from him, important and critical one, they also had nurtured him for years to be one of Dacre’s trusted person, someone that he had affection with.

It was a waste if they had to kill Killian, yet, Bryden made a big mistake with his own judgment. He closeness with Khaos made him see the alpha as his friend, just like how Ezra saw Khaos as his own son.

That kind of feeling could be a dangerous thing, since they used a sense of famiality in their relationship. It would only mess the order.

"No way." Dacre gritted his teeth. "You are imagining thing." Khaos’s scheme was too great for Dacre to accept, because it meant, he had been fooled thoroughly and he couldn’t accept that, also by accepting what Killian said, it meant he was a cornered dog in the mercy of Khaos’s hand. It was humiliation.

"You need to announce the existence of the lycan. You need to gather your power and join in with the other two kingdoms to go against him. You don’t have any idea his true strength. The supporters from the old dynasty are still loyal to him."

It was Killian, who was talking the whole time, telling him everything that he knew, anything that he thought it could help Dacre to win against Khaos, even though he knew the chance was very slight, but he wanted Dacre to have an element of surprise, so he could have an upper hand in this battle.

And all Dacre could see was his voice, he didn’t know when he walked out of the cell and went to the queen palace, because when he snapped back to reality, Nycta was cradling his face, staring at him with concern in her eyes.

"What happened? You are so pale. What’s going on?"

Her voice was very soft and gentle and Dacre was too exhausted to comprehend everything else, but her presence. He needed his mate. He needed the comfort, even though it came from someone that had betrayed him.

"Why did you betray me?" Dacre didn’t know why he asked this meaningless question. Whatever the reason, he was not going to forgive her. He was not going to forgive him too. "I have never harbored any thought to be with Rose, why do you think I will be with her?"

He had been loyal to the two of them, he had been loyal to Rimera too when she was alive, he thought he was a better mate for them, but they betrayed him.

"I am sorry..." Nycta cried, she asked for his forgiveness relentlessly. She allowed him to hurt her when he vented out his frustration, hurt and anger when he fucked her roughly.

He kept asking her why she betrayed him when he was inside her, but all Nycta could do was crying, which only angered Dacre even more.

Nycta was in pain and she thought it was better than him ignoring her, she hoped it would offset her betrayal.

However, when the next day came, thing did not become better for Dacre.

There was this urgency in the way Leonard knocked on the door, it was still early morning and Dacre was still disoriented from the overwhelming emotions from the previous night.

Beside him, Nycta was sleeping, she was naked and the room filled with the smell of blood and sex.

Putin on his robe, Dacre went to the door and opened it to find Leonard’s aghast expression. "What is it?" His voice was heavy and hoarse.

"Killian is dead."

If before, Dacre still doubted what Killian said, he believed him now.
