A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 166: ZURI WAS MISSING
Chapter 166: ZURI WAS MISSING
Zuri spat out Rhett’s left ear and she started to laugh maniacally. She looked crazy, something was broken inside her. She was broken beyond repaired.
Her laughter fused with Rhett’s painful scream and a lot of more people came into the room, but Zuri couldn’t care less about them all. She kept laughing, even when they put her to sleep, she was still smiling.
Blood smeared on her lips, splattered on her face, dripped down from her chin. She looked like a menace. Even the guards were very reluctant to get closer to her, though she was still chained to the wall and was unable to shift into her beast.
Despite her corpse like body, she held so much strength, it was incredible.
Meanwhile, they took Rhett to see Glenda. One of the guards took the initiative to bring his cut off ear to the healer, in hope she could fix it.
Unfortunately, Glenda couldn’t. Rhett didn’t lose his hearing ability, but he lost his left ear. Thanked to his healing ability, he was not going to die because he lost so much blood and now, he stayed in the same room like Elijah.
However, the storm had not yet come. The real storm was in the form of the last lycan. Once he learned about Zuri’s missing, he tore the pack upside down to look for her.
Even the king was stunned when he saw his rage.
"I am not sure where the luna is, but we can make use of this situation," Rose suggested to Dacre when the king came to her with the news.
People was still not aware of the missing Zuri, they only thought Khaos and Rhett were trying to enhance the security of the pack after what Silas was trying to do.
"What do you mean?" Dacre narrowed his eyes, he watched how Rose beamed when she informed him about her idea. She looked brilliant and wicked at the same time.
"This is align with your majesty’s wish. You can attack alpha Khaos by tarnishing his name first. The universe is helping you, king Dacre." Rose talked very gracefully, as if they were not talking about the downfall of someone. "We can use the people to put down alpha Khaos."
Dacre could see the pattern in Rose’s plan, she tended to use public sympathy. It was good idea, but it was not practical. Dacre didn’t have the patient for that, thus he handed it over for her to handle. He gave her five warriors to run her errand.
And a week later, there was this strong rumor about Zuri. The rumor said that the luna fled to Great Lunar kingdom to see for shelter and she was actually involved in the coup and the destruction of their food supply.
Of course, this put Khaos in bad light.
Yet, the alpha had another important thing to do than to care to such rumor about him. On the second day Zuri was missing, he had Rhett to see him.
"What happened with your ear?"
"I was hunting and a monster attacked me," Rhett rehearsed the answer that he had prepared. "I am very lucky to be alive."
Khaos looked at him for a while and when he spoke, he didn’t take his eyes off him. "Where is Zuri?"
"I don’t know. I will have told you if I knew."
Both of them were currently in the garden, walking through the muddy ground, as the snow started to melt and new lives emerged from under the cold ground.
Suddenly, Khaos stopped walking, he looked at him closely, but Rhett’s expression didn’t betray anything.
"You know where Zuri is," Khaos said. That was not even a question, but more like a statement. Rhett was to calm for someone, who didn’t know where Zuri was.
Despite everything, he cared for her as an older brother and also as someone, who had been inflicting curse on her all these years.
"Where is she?"
"What do you mean? I don’t know where she is..." Rhett composed himself, he frowned, feigning innocent. "If I knew, I would have told you right away, alpha..."
Without shifting his attention from Rhett, Khaos talked to Gayle. "Call Dezgar here."

Zuri regained her sight again and now she could see her surroundings, she was inside a small room with a window, which was too high for her to see outside. There was nothing here, not even a bed or a table, or a single chair.
There was no fireplace, thus you could imagine how cold it was.
She was alone with her ankles and wrists chained to the wall with silver that burned her skin. She had stopped struggling to escape and now, she was rocking herself back and forth, hugging her legs, while talking to her imaginary person.
"So, what if the attachment between us doesn’t exist? Will we still feel this way?" she asked to no one in particular, but in her mind, Khaos was sitting there next to her. Khaos had been accompanying her ever since she opened her eyes.
Probably it was because of her strong desire to see him, that was why her mind conjured him.
"Do you think I will survive this? There are five more curses left. Do you think I will survive this?"
There was silent, as if Zuri was listening to Khaos’s answer.
"It hurt. It’s so painful... I don’t want to be hurt anymore... Yes... I don’t want to remember any of this... I don’t want to remember you too... Can you kill Rhett? I hate him, but I can’t kill him... He has been my favorite brother..."
Zuri patted her own shoulder, pretending Khaos was the one, who did it. It didn’t feel the same, but it was enough to soothe her.
"I think I bit off his ear though... I don’t regret it... I know you are not real... Khaos is not here... I don’t think he will find me..."
In the middle of her ’conversation’, a few people entered the room.
