Chapter 210: Chapter 210: YOU DON’T DESERVE HER

Orson left the main courtyard with a regretful expression on his face.

He didn’t have a chance to talk to Calista or his daughters. Although he was certain that they were faring well, not being able to see them really hit him hard.

However, he couldn’t forcefully see them. That would only make Calista hate him, and he was suffering so much already.

Everything that he had learned, all that steadiness he had prided himself in having, was all nothing when he was facing her. She had always had such a great impact on him and with everything happening; it seemed to be growing.

Walking towards the gates, Orson spotted a familiar person. Someone he loathed greatly at this moment.

"I was waiting for you. We need to talk!" Hayes called out, as his lips curled upward as if ready to mock Orson.

Orson’s eyes narrowed as he emitted an aura. Orson’s aura was very strong. However, when compared to Hayes, who was used to having such kind of people like Orson, this didn’t seem like a thing.

Even if the other person wanted to scare him, what was the use?

"What do you want to talk about?" Orson asked coldly, as he glared at Hayes.

Hayes shrugged his shoulders as a smirk formed on his lips responding, "About her. Who else?" letting out a scoff at the end.

Upon hearing that, Orson turned to look at the main courtyard and, seeing no one coming out, he shifted back to Hayes and nodded his head.

"Sure, let’s talk as we walk," he agreed to Hayes’s offer.

He didn’t want to talk about whatever was brewing in this yard. If she happens to overhear it or those two beasts feel like attacking him, something that he was certain they had been eager to do so from the beginning, he wouldn’t know how to defend himself.

For now, getting himself away from her house and then planning on how to forge forward was of greater importance.

In the meantime, he would listen to Hayes and see what he wants from him.

"Have you ever regretted it?" Hayes asked as they walked towards the gate without looking at Orson, not in the mood to see his expression.

Orson didn’t expect to be asked such a question, honestly. So, he was taken aback when he heard it.

Did he regret it?

Of course, he did, but only when he learnt that the medicine, he had taken wasn’t the one that would have treated his daughters.

If his daughters were well, he would have forgotten her over time. It’s not like she was the first person he had been entangled with these years.

For his people and family, he had done so many things that he couldn’t even mention name by name.

Being tied emotionally was too tiring.

But who would have expected that there would be such a twist in the end?

If he had known that he would need her help again, he would have done better.

Hayes snickered when he saw that Orson was taking his time to respond. He didn’t know what kind of answer the other had in his mind, but he knew one thing for certain. He was the most thick-skinned person he had ever seen.

And he wasn’t going to let him go easily like that.

"When your daughters are well again, what do you plan to do?"

"When they are in the process of getting treated, what do you plan to do? Have you ever thought of where you will be living or anything?"

"Knowing fully well how crazy she can be. How did you even bring such a person like that brain-dead fan of yours? Were you trying to see if Calista could get jealous and if she still has you in her heart?" asking that question, Hayes couldn’t help but clench his fists as he glared at Orson.

"Before coming here, have you ever thought about her feelings? Or you were just selfish, thinking from your own perspective."

"She is a human being as well. She has feelings. She can be hurt and doesn’t deserve to have you flaunting yourself in front of her like this."

"If she was just a weak woman, she would be dead right now. Thankfully, she isn’t!" Hayes said that as a smile broke out on his face, feeling proud that Calista was strong and didn’t need as much protection as he thought.

Orson, all this time, didn’t get a second to respond. All questions were stabbing him, pointing out some of the things that he never thought of before and the more he listened, the more he felt embarrassed about himself.

So how could he even respond to anything that Hayes was talking about?

Hayes stopped at the gates as he looked at Orson, who had not responded a single word and said to him, "You don’t deserve her at all. I don’t know what happened between the two of you before I arrived, but you are a coward, an irresponsible man and a father. You should have known that she was pregnant, but what did you do?" every single word continued to jab Orson’s heart.

Hayes sighed as he rubbed his hair frustratingly, keeping his eye on Orson. With him not answering, Hayes just wanted to beat the crap out of him, but the other was obviously stronger than him. So, he couldn’t do anything.

Besides, the beating was for Calista. He would leave that to her.

Feeling frustrated with Orson, Hayes scoffed at him before he walked away.

He wasn’t going to bother himself with talking to a mute person.

’I wonder how she is right now!’ he wondered as he moved hurriedly towards the main house, hoping to come across someone who could tell him what was happening there.

Meanwhile, after Hayes left, Orson dazedly walked out of the village, feeling very lost and full of mixed emotions. He didn’t bother to look at the villagers who kept looking at him.

He wasn’t interested in what they were saying or thinking about him. He just wanted to find a way to make things easier for everyone.

It was only after being confronted three times that he realized the kind of damage he had caused to her.

How was he going to deal with that?
