Archer and Hemera entered the Last Resort Inn only to notice it was busy with people all over the place drinking and talking loud which annoyed him thanks to his hearing, causing the couple to glance around for somewhere to sit.

The blonde elf grabbed his hand and dragged him toward a nearby table. They sat down as an older man approached them with a friendly smile. ''Evening customers. How can I help you today?'' he greeted in a professional tone.

Hemera's yellow eyes gleamed as she scanned the menu, a spark of excitement lighting her gaze. She turned to the worker with a bright smile after deciding what to eat. ''Can we get two of everything, please? One guard recommended this place for its food.''

The worker glanced at Archer, who nodded in agreement, fishing a few gold coins from his Item Box. ''Two of everything, as the beautiful woman said,'' he confirmed, sliding the coins across the table.

When Hemera heard this, her smile grew wider as the man picked up the payment before rushing off toward the kitchen while the surrounding people looked at the couple with wide eyes.

Archer chuckled when seeing her dark cheeks grow even darker. Following that, he asked her about the projects she'd been working on back at Draconia. ''So how's the work with Llyniel coming along?''

''It's going well, to be honest,'' the young woman answered while sipping some ale he gave her. ''We're working on a way to grow crops during the dark winter months, which are slowly approaching.''

Archer sighed when hearing that as he muttered. ''I hate winter. It's always so cold and snow is everywhere. I bet it slows down the war effort and it all grinds to a halt.''

Hemera giggled before nodding. ''Well on Avidia, it's warmer, but the snow still comes and I think the Alliance will pull back to their castles as it's too dangerous to march as storms could suddenly appear,'' she revealed.

''That's good, I suppose. It will help us regroup and come up with a better plan,'' he commented before looking at the young woman. ''When do the storms start? I tend not to pay attention to such stuff.''

The sun elf giggled as she answered in an amused voice. ''I believe a month is when the cold arrives. The snow comes a few days after that. So we have four weeks to take Duskfire or wait at the river that splits the northern part with the rest of the empire.''

Just as Hemera finished speaking, Sera's excited voice echoed in his mind. 'Sweetheart! I've got us a new maid and she will be extremely loyal as I put a slave collar on her.'

When Archer heard this, he choked on the ale he was drinking, which caught the elf's attention, causing her to ask. ''What's wrong, handsome?''

He shook his head before answering with a chuckle. ''Somehow Sera has found us a new maid. I don't know what she's been up to, but she amuses me to no end.''

After listening to her explanation, he sent another message to the dragon woman with a mix of exasperation and curiosity. 'What trouble have you gotten into this time? And who's this new maid you mentioned?'

Seconds later, a voice brimming with cheer echoed back. 'Don't worry, handsome! I'll take the old Coya Empress back to Draconia. Aisha and Ella can question her. It'll be fine!'

Archer's eyes widened when hearing this causing him to ask. 'You enslaved her? Why not just kill her?'

'Would be a waste husband,' she replied in a confident tone. 'I want her to see how my life unfolds when I finally have your hatchlings!'

He couldn't help but smile when hearing Sera's explanation, which made his heart race as he responded. 'I love you Seraphina. I'll come see you soon.'

Moments later, a sudden ripple in the air beside him. The dragon woman burst through a portal, her arms swiftly encircling his shoulders as she pulled him into a fiery, passionate kiss that sent a jolt racing down his spine.

Hemera and the nearby patrons froze, wide-eyed at the brazen display unfolding before them. The blonde elf broke the tension with a soft giggle, her voice light and teasing. ''Hello, Sera! How's my favorite girl doing?''

The redhead stopped kissing him and looked at the sun elf as her face lit up. ''Hemi! I haven't seen you in ages.''

Following that, Sera joined them at the table as she continued with a giggle. ''It's good to see you with Arch. You're always in the lab with those crazy bitches.''

''Bitches?'' Archer asked with a raised eyebrow.

''Yes, Llyniel and Halime!'' the dragon exclaimed. ''They are always trying to catch me for their tests! I've had enough of it!''

Hemera started laughing as she questioned in a knowing tone. ''Sera, it's not exactly like that, is it?''

''Oi!'' the redhead huffed, her face twisting in mock offense. ''You're supposed to be on my side here, Hemera, not those devils!''

''Let me guess, this little gremlin was terrorizing the two while they were busy working and they snapped and captured her?'' Archer asked.

Sera nodded, causing her ponytail to fly everywhere. ''Yes, they made me eat some horrible foods while whispering to each other. They're pure evil, I tell you, they make tyrant rulers look friendly!''

''It was pure torture, husband! Please tell them to stop,'' she complained and pleaded in an annoyed voice.

Archer started laughing, which caused Hemera to join in as she commented with a giggle. ''Well, you're notorious for annoying people, so they have to come up with ways to deter you, Sera.''

Following that, the older man returned with two other servers who were wheeling three carts full of all kinds of meals toward the table before placing plates on the table. ''Here you go, young man, some of our best food,'' he said before leaving.

When Sera saw all the food, her ruby-red eyes widened in surprise as she looked at him and asked. ''Can I join you two, please? This place smells delicious.''

Archer nodded and looked at the blonde elf, who had a big smile. ''Yes, I'd be happy for you, too. We can rarely spend time together.''

Afterward, the trio started eating as the dragon woman explained that she was going to kill the Coya Empress but decided against it so she could suffer. Hemera was curious, causing her to question. ''What do you plan to do with her and this, Duke?''

''I'll kill him. He's useless, after all, but Xochitl will be an excellent maid. She offered to become one when witnessing me skinning her father,'' Sera answered casually before eating a slab of meat.

Hemera looked at the redhead with wide eyes until she started giggling as Archer shook his head. The three continued eating as more people poured into the inn, causing three Oathkeepers to appear from the Domain.

Thalion bowed to him as his deep voice rang out. ''My King, it's getting busier and you need protection. Three of us will stay here to keep people in line.''

Archer nodded. ''Thanks, commander. I noticed more eyes were turning to us,'' he replied while looking around the inn.

Fenris and Valek stood on watch as Thalion scanned the place, causing the people to grow even quieter. A group of drunk merchants from the northern islands took offense and tried to say something.

He was moments from unleashing Mana Manipulation on the fools when Valek strode forward, planting himself between them with his sword and shield raised, which caught everyone's attention.

''Move along,'' he growled, his voice deep and menacing as it reverberated through the air. ''This is the king you're approaching, human.''

A tense silence blanketed the inn as the drunks eyed the scene with skepticism. One of them swaggered forward, jabbing a finger into the giant's broad torso, his voice dripping with arrogance.

''I'm Theo Morrison, son of the renowned Duke Morrison from the Avalon Empire. Queen Leira lets my family do whatever we damn well please—our contributions to the homeland earned us that right,'' he declared with confidence.

Archer's ears twitched when hearing his woman's name, causing him to vanish only to reappear in front of the human. He grabbed the young man by the neck and lifted him into the air while growling.

''Keep my woman's name out of your mouth, liar!'' he warned before opening a portal.

Moments later, the purple-haired cat woman stepped through it and beamed when spotting him. ''Husband! What's going on here?'' she asked with a confused expression.

''Do you know a Duke Morrison?'' he asked.

Leira nodded with a cringe. ''Yes, he's annoying and tried to offer his son to be my sister's husband, but she rejected the offer,'' she explained.

He let out a low chuckle at the exchange before fixing the noble with a steely glare. ''Keep my woman's name out of your mouth, or I'll skin you alive. Got it?''
