Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Where Have You Been All These Years?

The handsome man, one foot already across the threshold of the Ford Family estate, paused. His deep, dark eyes were frigid, and the corners of his crimson lips curled into a sharp, intimidating arc.

Behind Jasper Ford, Caden Chandler bowed slightly. "President, should you go in and explain things to the Old Madam?"

"There’s no need." Jasper Ford turned around, his innate, cold arrogance radiating an air of unapproachability.

As one of heaven’s chosen, he was destined for an extraordinary life from birth. Yet even Jasper Ford, who had dominated Crestfall’s business world for years and sat firmly at its apex, had his moments of powerlessness.

He stood inside The St. Declan Hotel, the most luxurious establishment in the very heart of Crestfall.

Jasper Ford gazed down at the Crestfall cityscape like an emperor. The hazy, beautiful silhouette from that one night surfaced in his mind. The exhilarating pleasure he had felt was unlike anything he had ever known—a sensation that could become an addiction.

There was no doubt about it. He had grown fond of that feeling—and only that feeling.

But every time he saw Wanda Quincy’s pretentious face, Jasper Ford couldn’t help but shudder, wondering how he could have possibly brought himself to sleep with her.

To compensate for the mistake of that night, Jasper Ford had bestowed upon Wanda Quincy the highest honors, transforming her from a complete nobody into the president of the Quincy Group. That compensation was more than enough.

"President, President King sent you a bottle of red wine. He said it was specially flown in from Fleuri. Would you like to keep it?" Caden Chandler asked, carefully holding the bottle as he stood behind Jasper Ford.

Jasper Ford glanced at it lazily. "Throw it away."

"Very well." Caden Chandler retreated respectfully.

Jasper Ford continued to gaze at the Crestfall cityscape, his mood souring. "Wait. Leave the wine."

Caden Chandler left the bottle and stepped out.

The wine’s aroma was rich and intoxicating. Not long after finishing a glass, Jasper Ford felt a wave of drowsiness. Having worked a long day, he assumed he was just tired. But as he turned off the lights, an intense heat surged from his abdomen, and a fierce look instantly hardened his cold, resolute face.

Jasper Ford was enraged. He couldn’t believe someone had dared to pull a stunt like this right under his nose. A murderous aura erupted around him. At the same time, a muffled THUD sounded from the balcony, as if someone was secretly breaking in.

Sure enough, a few seconds later, a slender figure in dark clothes stumbled in from the balcony and, with clear intent, crashed right into Jasper Ford’s arms.

The man sneered. ’This old trick again!’

His powerful hand seized the intruder’s wrist, and he heard the girl let out a muffled grunt. ’She’s a pretty convincing actress!’

Utterly disgusted, Jasper Ford suddenly tightened his grip, causing the girl in his arms to cry out in pain. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

"You’re hurting me!" Vivian Quincy, who had just escaped from the adjacent room, hadn’t expected to run into a violent maniac. "I was just passing through," she explained. "I’ll leave right now."

In the darkness, a flicker of imperceptible surprise crossed Jasper Ford’s bottomless eyes. ’That voice... it’s familiar.’ It seemed he had heard it before, but he couldn’t recall where.

The girl’s body was cold, and the small hand he held was delicate and smooth, causing the heat deep within Jasper Ford’s body to surge violently. He felt terrible!

’The girl in front of him... she smells surprisingly good!’

Vivian Quincy had assumed she could leave after her explanation, but she didn’t expect the tall man’s body to suddenly lean toward her, pinning her against the wall in a very strange position.

Vivian Quincy was dumbfounded.

’What is he doing?’

’I’m just passing through, buddy! What do you think you’re doing?’

Realizing the situation was dire, Vivian Quincy frantically pushed against the man’s chest with both hands. She had no idea that pressing her cold palms against Jasper Ford was like pouring gasoline on the fire already blazing within him, making it burn even hotter.

His once-clear eyes became clouded with a strange glint.

Vivian Quincy subconsciously tried to retreat but found she had nowhere to go. Her heart sank as she saw a slender hand sweep across the bar in the darkness and pick up a wine bottle.

Vivian Quincy’s lips twitched. ’Even if I snuck in, he doesn’t need to smash a bottle over my head!’

Mmph—

Just as Vivian Quincy was panicking, something cold and hard was shoved into her mouth. The strong scent of alcohol instantly snapped her wandering mind back to reality. This man had actually shoved the wine bottle into her mouth!

Not only that, but he was also roughly pouring the wine from the bottle down her throat!

Vivian Quincy was stunned. She angrily tried to slap the bottle away, but the man roughly grabbed her by the jaw. Instantly, she was unable to move. In a hoarse voice, she snarled, "You bastard! I already apologized! What more do you want?"

"Hah!" In the darkness, Jasper Ford’s deep eyes seemed laced with venom, cold and merciless. "First, you drug me, then you scheme your way into my room. You think I’m going to believe you?"

Vivian Quincy thought he was insane. "I didn’t! Let... Mmph! Bastard!"

She let out a few more muffled curses, but her feeble struggles were nothing against the tall man. He forced more than half a bottle of wine down her throat.

’This feels awful...’

Vivian Quincy’s struggling hands gradually lost their strength, and she slid down the wall to the floor. At the same time, the dark room was flooded with light. The psychopath had turned on the lights and was now on the phone, his back to her.

"Yes, it’s a thief. Have them call the police as well. Let her spend the rest of her life in prison."

’Thief, my ass!’

With a stomach full of wine, Vivian Quincy staggered to her feet, steadying herself on the corner of a table. The alcohol was already going to her head, and her vision was blurry. Unsure if it was the drug in the wine or sheer fury, Vivian, seeing red, grabbed the empty bottle he had tossed aside...

CRASH!

Jasper Ford collapsed to the floor!

The phone he was holding fell to the ground with him.

Vivian Quincy picked up the phone, which was still connected, and said, "There’s no need for the police. Just call an ambulance."

Caden Chandler???

’A woman’s voice?’

’What the hell? Did the President get into some kind of trouble while he was with a woman?’

"What happened?" Caden Chandler pressed.

Vivian Quincy hung up the phone and tugged at her stuffy collar. ’I feel awful.’

’I’d better get out of here. It’ll be bad if people show up.’

Vivian Quincy had just walked a short distance from the hotel entrance when she saw seven or eight police cars roar past, an ambulance close behind. The entire hotel was then sealed off. Thankfully, Vivian had gotten out early enough not to be trapped inside, but for some reason, her body was feeling worse and worse.

She had drunk plenty at business functions abroad, but it had never been like this. ’What’s going on?’

Before long, Vivian Quincy’s eyelids began to droop. She took a few dazed steps, completely unaware of the car approaching her. By the time she snapped out of it, she was already sitting on the ground.

A man stepped out of the black Ferrari. He wasn’t old, but he was exceptionally handsome.

At first, Vivian Quincy couldn’t see him clearly. It wasn’t until he was standing right in front of her that she realized who it was. Hayden Kaye!

’What is he doing here?’

"Vivian, where have you been all these years?" Hayden Kaye demanded, grabbing Vivian Quincy’s shoulders excitedly.

Vivian Quincy’s whole body felt feverish. Biting her lip, she forcefully pushed Hayden Kaye away. "Don’t touch me."

"I’m your boyfriend, why can’t I touch you! Tell me, why are you with President King? What did I ever do to you that was so wrong you’d treat me like this?" Hayden Kaye screamed himself hoarse. Six years. He had searched for Vivian Quincy for six whole years, and she thought she could just brush him off with a simple "Don’t touch me"?
