A Favor Done, A Husband Won-Chapter 350 - 344: Only Mianmian Saw It
Outside the elevator, Jun would occasionally glance at the woman beside her.
Feeling the gaze coming from Jun, Shi Su ignored her. Suddenly, she heard a ding from another elevator behind her and directly turned around to walk in.
Jun glanced at her, barely audible sigh escaping her lips, and followed her in: "I’m telling you, little ancestor, you don’t need to avoid sharing an elevator with someone, right? The step you took back just now was too obvious."
"Aren’t we going downstairs?" Shi Su said emotionlessly, "That one is going upstairs."
"Is that the point? It’s your obvious demeanor of avoidance!" Jun rolled her eyes, "After all, Mr. Jing treated you well back then, genuinely and devotedly. And you, just when Mianmian got exposed, you announced publicly that you’re married. Where did you put Mr. Jing back then? Considering your relationship, after breaking up, he should be the one who’s more hurt and angry, right? Yet, why do you seem so keen to avoid any closeness? Is Mr. Jing a wild beast or something? What’s the real reason making you act like this? Can’t two people just be okay?"
"It’s been so long already. What’s the point of asking these questions now? I need to meet Mr. Han later, and also the app head responsible, I have to keep up a smiling face all night long. Are you trying to dampen my mood?"
"..."
How long has it been?
Only a year and a half.
Mianmian is still in kindergarten after all.
In novels and TV dramas, separations of ten or even eight years are common, and when they meet, sparks just fly again, right?
Shi Su, however, in less than two years, seems to have matured a lot, treating this year and a half as if it’s been ten or eight years.
Jun stopped speaking, only pouted and stayed silent. The elevator stopped at the first floor, accompanying Shi Su as she walked out.
Approaching the crowd at the exhibition center, Shi Su slowed her pace somewhat. Something seemed to have built up within her, held back for too long. At the moment when the elevator doors closed, the sight before her shattered like well-polished jade, revealing that all smooth facades were mere illusions.
She suddenly spoke in a low voice, only audible to Jun: "If you were an elder of the Jing Family, would you accept me and Mianmian?"
Jun’s expression paused for a moment, then turned to look at her.
Shi Su also looked at her, eyes meeting.
Jun said nothing, only gently patted her arm: "Come on, let’s meet the app head, focus on work."
Some things are hard to comprehend from one’s own perspective, but looking from another angle, no matter how appealing Shi Su is, familial connections and blood ties within wealthy families remain the highest wall.
A high wall that no one can break.

Shi Su’s current apartment is near Wanxing Building, still participating in events till late at night before returning home.
Upon entering, she found that Mianmian was surprisingly still awake.
Mrs. Qin and the newly hired Mrs. Zhang were also awake, holding some colorful papers, busy with something.
"Back home?" Mrs. Qin noticed that Shi Su returned home without removing her makeup yet, but her clothes had changed to her usual casual wear, "Go take a shower and rest early. Mianmian slept in the afternoon, she woke up now all energetic. She said her kindergarten teacher left origami homework, asking us to help her fold a paper lotus flower. We’re all checking online how to fold it."
"Paper lotus flower? That’s quite challenging," Shi Su laughed, walked over and took a look at the colorful papers in front of Mrs. Qin and Mrs. Zhang, and then looked at the phone placed in front of them. Indeed, it showed methods on how to fold, but the directions looked complicated.
She was very tired from smiling to everyone at the exhibition hall tonight and really didn’t have the energy to join in folding, opting instead to give up. She went directly to Shi Mianmian, seeing the little one kneeling on the carpet, with scissors, double-sided tape, and various colors of paper before her. The six-year-old Shi Mianmian was especially serious, holding a pencil drawing petals on colored paper.
For a preschooler, this is really hard...
Shi Su hesitated, picked up her phone and glanced at the kindergarten class group chat. Surely, she saw the teacher’s assignment, which was distributing ten pieces of colored paper and asking the children to work with their parents to make beautiful paper lotus flowers. After submission, they would be placed in the kindergarten exhibition area for evaluation.
Seeing those four words "parents," Shi Su paused for a moment.
She actually hadn’t been looking at Mianmian’s kindergarten class group chat much recently. Normally, she let Mrs. Qin and Mrs. Zhang handle these things.
Back then, she said Mianmian had a dad, but in reality, not to mention Mianmian’s dad, even Shi Su as a mom had less and less time for her child due to the busy work studio, often going days without seeing Mianmian.
She knew Mianmian wasn’t happy, but Mianmian didn’t show it.
The little six-year-old was so understanding that Shi Su often wondered what kind of blood flowed in this child’s veins.
Even if Jing Jihan no longer appeared in their lives, even if she forbade her from asking about Ji Han uncle, Mianmian never persistently asked that question.
Because back then, in that old house, the only one who truly saw Shi Su cry was Shi Mianmian.
"Mommy, what color paper do you think lotus flowers look best in?" After drawing her uniquely abstract "lotus flower" on a piece of pink paper, Mianmian turned to display it to Shi Su.
Shi Su suddenly sat directly next to Mianmian, took the indistinct flower she drew on the paper, and used a pen to help her outline the lotus flower shape shown on the phone: "If you’re folding it from paper, it can only look like this."
Mrs. Qin and Mrs. Zhang were surprised to see Shi Su just sit down like that, looking at her in astonishment.
Mrs. Qin: "Aren’t you going to take a shower and sleep early? Don’t you have things tomorrow?"
Mrs. Zhang: "Should I go prepare your bathwater?"
"No need, I’ll help fold Mianmian’s paper lotus flower first, then go shower." Shi Su took another paper handed by Mianmian, also searched online with her phone for folding methods, and after finding them, joined alongside to fold.
Mianmian quickly leaned into Shi Su’s arms, humming gently, "Mommy, if you are tired, you can go to sleep. Mianmian can play with paper folding with Mrs. Zhang and Mrs. Qin."
Shi Su leaned down, held Mianmian’s cheeks, and kissed them hard: "Mommy will stay with you."
Mianmian further snuggled into her embrace, "Can Mommy’s paper folding be rainbow-colored?"
Shi Su’s lips twitched, "I see you’re making things hard for me."
