A Child Turned Into A Soldier-Chapter 20: Stalker
Chapter 20: Stalker
After an hour of small talk, we finally arrived at the VIA's headquarters.
Luke parked the car in a parking lot and all of us exited the vehicle. Stepping outside, I was astonished by how large this headquarters was. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝙚𝒘𝙚𝓫𝒏𝙤𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝙘𝙤𝒎
This place was like a compound, multiple buildings could be seen standing over 20 stories high. Paved sidewalks were everywhere, connecting each of these buildings with the grass being cut to a perfect length alongside it.
We started to walk among the sidewalk, walking towards a building which stood out from its peers.
It had a massive fountain which was sculpted into a man riding a griffin, this was the symbol of the Volestian flag. The man riding this griffin was the first leader of this country and he created a path for the people of this country to walk towards.
The building itself was over 40 stories high, making me almost break my neck trying to look all the way up it.
After taking in the sights, we walked through the two massive front doors made out of glass and entered inside which I assumed to be the main building. The first floor was very simple only having marble flooring with a reception area in the front.
There were also these shiny metal doors spread across the first floor amongst the walls, but I didn't know what they led to.
People were moving around at a fast pace going to their destination, each of these individuals were dressed in the same uniform of a simple black suit.
We headed towards the reception area with Luke simply giving a look to the receptionist causing them to open one of the many metal doors.
Without even stopping we continued our way to the small room, as we entered, I was confused because I only saw buttons that went up to the number 45. I simply though this was a room, but I could feel it start to move after Luke hit the button with the number 37 on it.
"What is this thing? Why's the room moving?" I asked not knowing what was going on.
"What? Kid this is an elevator, it can take you up and down to each floor. Did you think people would actually take the stairs this day and age? HAHAHAHA!" Samual said while laughing his ass off at my stupidity.
This didn't get too me though because the place where I spent most my time was lacking in technology by a considerable margin.
The doors opened with the button glowing on the number 37, which I guess signaled what floor we were currently on.
We entered the floor and what greeted us was a large black table that contained 50 seats in total. However, there was one chair at the top of this table which a person was seated at.
I couldn't define anything about them though because when I tried looking my eyes became blurred, almost as if I didn't have the authority to look at them.
I knew this human was one that stood out from its peers, there are levels to everything and this one has reached the top.
"Sit." Their voice sounded which caused me to immediately take the closet seat to me. I had no control over my actions, this showed the level of this monster.
The same thing happened with both Luke and Samual, seems like even they had no authority as well.
"Let's not waste any time shall we, here are the documents going over everything you need to know for now, the rest you will have to find out yourself when you arrive at the school." The being said, while a folder containing papers appeared right in front of me on the table.
"You will be training here until you leave for school, although we can help you here, once you're on Fallen Empire soil there is nothing we can do. Other students coming from our nation also cannot help, you alone need to handle these tasks."
I just listened silently, although I did have a few questions, I wouldn't dare to ask them in front of such a monster. I will simply ask the old timers with me.
"That's all from me, I'll be taking my leave and I hope you find success in this mission Azrail.." The person said and when I looked over to their seat they were gone.
"Well then, let us show you where your room is and everything else you need to know." Samual said as we all started to get up and head over to the elevator. It was still there which led me to wonder how that monster left the floor.
I picked up the folder and started to follow both men. As they were giving me the tour of where I'll be spending most my time, I began to read the documents inside of the folder.
As I was reading through the pages both men could be heard talking about each area I would be using in the next couple of weeks.
I really couldn't care less about what they were saying because the documents had my attention. I simply couldn't hold myself back and started reading what they wanted me to do.
As I started to look over the information, reality started to kick in on how difficult even my first year was going to be.
The main points I had read so far were basically stating that I had to become a stalker. I had to find out almost every single detail I could about every race, but the Elves were priority, this meant more time spent towards stalking them.
Not only that, but I had to be a guardian angel to our own race making sure no one leaked any important intel. Obviously, we aren't the only ones trying to learn about the other side, so steps needed to be taken to make sure we were the ones coming out on top for this battle of attaining information.
It seemed like they wanted me to be solo the entire time as well, meaning trust was something they lacked. I couldn't blame them though considering we are teenagers in a way bigger picture.
I truly wondered how well I was going to do, my mind started to race with every possibility I could think of to prepare myself to achieve success.
