Chapter 593 - Peng Luo Is Overjoyed

The sky above the Daxia Sword Sect had been sealed with several spatial barriers, and yet a large black tear ripped open overhead.

Ye Feng and Cao Yan, cultivating on opposite sides of the area, opened their eyes simultaneously. Two heavenly flames of different colors shot outward, sealing the space within a hundred zhang of the tear. Blue array patterns materialized, powerful spatial ripples radiating from them.

Lu Kangnian and the others rushed over as soon as they sensed the commotion.

Ye Feng rested one hand on the hilt of his sword, his eyes fixed on the tear. The space warped, and the emerging array patterns locked into place.

Buzz!

The space inside the transport array warped and let out a low hum. Everyone exchanged glances, then looked at the array.

Lu Kangnian frowned. “Why isn’t there anyone? Where’s Miss Meng?”

Ye Feng and Cao Yan’s chests tightened. Ye Feng could not help but murmur, “Could something have happened to her?”

He charged toward the array, but Cao Yan pulled him back without a word. Before Ye Feng could protest, ripples formed in the transport array. There was a white flash, and something hit the platform with a wet splat.

All eyes turned to the object that had fallen.

Ye Feng was startled to see what looked like an air-dried radish. He swallowed hard. “How did this even happen?”

Then another figure fell out of the spatial tear—Meng Wanshu. Her aura was weak. Half of her chest was caved in, and she was covered in blood. The blood made her hair stick to her face, and it continued to trickle down in fresh streams.

Nine Heavens was coiled like a dark strip of cane around her wrist, lacking its usual luster.

Everyone was shocked. Li Guanqi, deep in closed-door cultivation in the cave room, grew agitated for no apparent reason. He forcefully suppressed the turbulent energies within him. He activated his Spirit Platform, and his divine consciousness poured outward like a tidal wave, sweeping across the entire Daxia Sword Sect in the blink of an eye.

Upon witnessing Meng Wanzhou's dire condition, he was consumed by rage, and every ounce of energy in his body erupted at once. Thousands of lightning bolts shot out of him, piercing the cave walls. The surrounding space shattered.

Fury burned through him. He didn’t know what she had endured out there. She’d left to find a special immortal herb for him, but he hadn’t expected her to come back so severely injured.

His eyes remained shut, but his lips quivered, the veins on his neck pulsing. He clenched his teeth so hard his cheeks bulged, his eyebrows drawn together in a deep frown. He started to exude subtle murderous intent.

Watching the violent lightning rage across the back mountains, Ye Feng said, “Third Brother, go calm him down. Tell him Sister-in-Law is fine and that he doesn’t need to worry.”

Cao Yan nodded. He could tell that Meng Wanshu was only exhausted. Her injuries were manageable and not as serious as they’d initially feared.

Peng Luo, on the other hand, had been squeezed completely dry. If no one helped him soon, his cultivation level would regress. Ye Feng lifted Meng Wanshu with vital force and carried her to a cold lake in the back mountains.

Sun Miao, the peak master of Pill Peak, prepared spirit liquid and other healing supplies before flying out to meet them.

Lu Kangnian was torn between worry for Meng Wanshu and concern that Li Guanqi might spiral out of control. In the end, he chose to calm Li Guanqi first. The consequences of letting him lose himself could be disastrous.

Anxiety settled over the entire Daxia Sword Sect. The disciples didn’t know what had happened or why the sect master had grown so tense. They couldn’t understand why Li Guanqi had raged so abruptly, though they could clearly sense his suppressed fury blanketing the area.

The peak masters temporarily confined their disciples to their designated peaks, prohibiting anyone from leaving without a valid justification.

Qin Xian couldn’t bear to watch any longer. He scooped Peng Luo up and rushed toward Pill Peak. Along the way, the half-conscious Peng Luo kept muttering something, but Qin Xian couldn’t make out a word.

He was focused on getting Peng Luo some powerful healing pills. Peng Luo didn’t look like much of a fighter, but Qin Xian suspected he was actually far stronger than him. After all, Peng Luo was a true tier-six spirit.

As he flew toward Pill Peak, he glanced down at the shriveled Peng Luo and frowned. He muttered, “Should I soak this thing in water? Pill Peak is nothing but fire spirit force. Will that just make things worse?”

The thought hit him mid-flight, and he veered sharply toward a clean spirit pool at Heavenly Water Peak. Peng Luo’s hoarse voice grew louder. Qin Xian lifted him to his ear and finally made out the words.

“A-are... you... trying to... barbecue me...”

Qin Xian looked at Peng Luo awkwardly. He pretended he hadn’t understood and said nothing. Once he was above Heavenly Water Peak, he simply tossed Peng Luo forward.

Peng Luo had no vital force whatsoever, so being flung through the air with no control over his body made him want to explode with curses.

But he had no energy left to shout.

His head hit the water, and his whole body was immediately swept up in a warm current.

There was a huge splash, along with screams from a few girls.

“Ahhh! What the hell was that?”

“Ahhh! Something fell in!”

Peng Luo floated back up from the bottom and continued to soak in the pond, absorbing the pure spirit qi contained in the pool and started to heal.

His blurry vision gradually turned sharp, and some seagrass in the water brushed against his nose. All he saw was a mass of white.

Peng Luo’s eyes went wide, and he realized exactly where he’d landed.

“Old Qin! Old Qin!”

The moment he woke up, Peng Luo excitedly burned through the meager vital force his body had just absorbed. But instead of healing his injuries, he used it to restore his appearance.

His shriveled body swelled back to its fat, white form, emitting a milk-white glow.

The startled disciples returned to the water. They peered at Peng Luo, who was squinting and bleeding from his nose. One female disciple frowned at the white blood spreading through the pool. “Is it... injured? And why is there so much snot coming from its nose...”

Others noticed that the white liquid contained spirit qi far more concentrated than that of ordinary spirit liquids.

A beautiful girl eyed the white liquid, then the “unconscious” Peng Luo floating in the water. She grinned, baring her little canine teeth.
