Chapter 350: Rescuing Zhao Qing

Xu Mumu flicked a pebble from her hand, hitting Liu Laizi’s wrist directly. Zhao Qing immediately noticed Xu Mumu appearing not far away.

Unconsciously, he recalled a scene from two years ago when Xu Mumu single-handedly drove away those bullying Yin Yang.

Zhao Qing quickly picked up the dagger that had fallen from Liu Laizi’s hand, intending to run towards Xu Mumu. At this point, he couldn’t care less about maintaining any macho bravado; compared to being beaten, being a little cowardly didn’t seem like much.

"Qing, take care of yourself," Xu Mumu smiled faintly and then set her gaze on Liu Laizi. She had seen Liu Laizi a few times before, but not often. Every time she met Liu Laizi, his gaze made her feel thoroughly disgusted.

"Little girl, this is not a place you should be." Hu stepped back a little, looking at Xu Mumu with some trepidation. How could this be? The aura emanating from this little girl made him involuntarily take a step back.

This little girl was a trained fighter. He had never felt such a strong sense of threat from any trained fighter before.

"This is my friend; you shouldn’t touch them," Xu Mumu walked over calmly, though not slowly. The nearby delinquents saw Xu Mumu and immediately encircled her and Zhao Qing.

"Mumu, take this for protection," Zhao Qing directly handed the dagger to Xu Mumu. After all, there were several people here; two hands can’t fight four fists.

"No need, you keep it for protection," Xu Mumu shook her head calmly, dismissing the dagger as too worthless.

"Xu Mumu, you dare meddle in our Brother Hu’s affairs? Our Brother Hu happens to be unmarried," Liu Laizi said, his expression souring as Xu Mumu approached, his eyes darting around.

"Ah!!" As soon as Liu Laizi’s words fell, he was kicked two meters away, letting out a miserable scream.

"A foul mouth deserves punishment," Xu Mumu’s face carried a bright smile as she stepped on Liu Laizi’s mouth, only releasing her foot once considerable blood flowed out.

"So, are you still standing by Liu Laizi?" Xu Mumu’s gaze fell on Hu, noting that this area of the county wasn’t it supposed to be Baldy’s territory? These few punks were bolder than she thought; she might have to check with Baldy later.

"No, no, I don’t dare anymore. It was Liu Laizi who brought us here; it’s none of our business. Liu Laizi pushed us into this," fear flickered in Hu’s eyes. Given the strength with which Xu Mumu sent Liu Laizi flying, he knew he couldn’t measure up. Damn, Liu Laizi hit a brick wall and dragged them down with him.

Once this matter is settled, they’ll settle scores properly with Liu Laizi.

When did this county have such formidable people? Not a whisper about it, nearly got them killed by Liu Laizi.

"Tell me, what did Liu Laizi promise you?" Xu Mumu asked coldly, looking at the group. She was very pleased with her handiwork; all were intimidated.

Hu didn’t dare to conceal anything and promptly sold out Liu Laizi.

They were supposed to capture Zhao Qing, extort money from the Zhao Family. Liu Laizi’s family was so poor they couldn’t even afford meals and had to resort to petty theft. They planned one big score and even thought about forcing Zhao Guodong to write them a recommendation to escape far away.

Zhao Qing’s eyes reddened. His gaze fixed ferociously on Liu Laizi, gripping the dagger tightly. If murder were not a crime, he’d have already stabbed Liu Laizi several times.

The Zhao Family had helped them mother and son so much, yet he would sink to such depths; how could anyone not feel heartbroken?

"Don’t be rash. What he did is unlawful, and the law will punish him." Xu Mumu gently patted Zhao Qing’s shoulder, feeling intense disgust towards Liu Laizi.

"I know." Zhao Qing’s voice choked. He had always been well-protected by his parents; even after going to college and facing numerous challenges, he had never encountered anything like this. Liu Laizi might as well have written the words "treacherous and ungrateful" clearly on his face.

"All of this was Liu Laizi’s doing. We haven’t done anything yet; we haven’t broken the law," Hu’s expression turned grim as he looked at Xu Mumu.

"Ha-ha-ha, save that for the police station," Xu Mumu laughed coldly. This Hu looked fierce, but she’d seen many like him in a small base in the apocalypse. That base was a prison; he must’ve recently been released from there; otherwise, he wouldn’t exude such aggression.

"Little girl, leave room to maneuver; you may need it in the future," Hu gritted his teeth. Without even gesturing, his henchmen surrounded Xu Mumu, inching closer, ready to catch her.

Though they feared Xu Mumu, they dreaded a stint in jail even more.

"Just with you lot? You might pose some threat, but the rest are just a ragtag bunch," Xu Mumu smiled lightly and struck without hesitation.

Zhao Qing hid behind Xu Mumu, his emotions a swirl, watching as one by one, Hu’s henchmen fell. Hu, trying to flee, was directly captured by Xu Mumu, who dislocated his arms and jaw.

"What are you staring at? Quickly, find some ropes and tie them all up; take them to the police station," Xu Mumu clapped the dust off her hands and remarked that she hadn’t fought in a while and was thus a bit rusty.

"Ah, oh, okay," Zhao Qing nodded reflexively, realizing he had no choice but to obediently comply, feeling a deep sense of fear. If Xu Mumu hadn’t shown up, things likely wouldn’t have ended well.

Looking at his own skinny arms, Zhao Qing smiled wryly, thinking how weak he truly was.

By the time Zhao Qing led a chain of people out, Xu Minglei’s eyes nearly popped out. What on earth happened here? Were they all his sister’s captives?

"Sis, what happened here? That person looks like Liu Laizi," Xu Minglei’s gaze skimmed over the people and landed on Liu Laizi, dragged along at the end. Liu Laizi had a large shoe print on his face, bleeding terribly and looking quite miserable.

Seeing Zhao Qing unwilling to talk, Xu Mumu briefly recounted the story.

"Sis, you’re a real hero," Xu Minglei looked at Xu Mumu with eyes full of admiration, nearly sparkling.

"Silly brother, you can’t follow my example, understand?" Xu Mumu reached out to ruffle Xu Minglei’s hair. She didn’t want her brother emulating her, as not everyone had her kind of strength.

Moreover, meddling could lead to unforeseen dangers; although she taught them some self-defense skills, faced with real fighters, their showy techniques were useless. So, they shouldn’t dream of being gallant outlaws.
