365 Days To Love-Chapter 175 - ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FIVE: Liar Liar,Pants On Fire!
She shouldn’t have taken that money from Hazel’s mother, because no matter how Susan tries to assure herself that what she did was right.
The guilty was still killing her,and did she forget to mention the part that she always sees that bitche’s face in her sleep?
She knew herself too well to figure out that she wasn’t the same susan she was, likewise the other sisters in the orphanage.
She was acting out of herself lately, being unnecessarily paranoid and so edgy that sister Jane couldn’t overlook her actions anymore, and had to confront her about it, regardless of their relationship.
"Susan!"She called for the third time this time around which seemed to work, because she jerked in shock and looked up at Jane who had an uneven look on her face. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
She didn’t look normal,if anything she hasn’t gotten a wink of a normal sleep these past few days, and right now the only thing on her mind was trying to reach out to the woman once again.
But that was not possible, because she didn’t take her contract that day, which was another problem that was eating her up.
What would her mother think of her if she confided in her about what she did?
Truthfully, she knew that she would forgive her,but the trust has been broken because she wouldn’t have imagined that her daughter would fall into such temptation,no,a sin!
Besides,Lady Morgana would be really mad at her once she knows that it was Hazel’s real mother, she loves Hazel so much that the thoughts alone were terrifying at her reaction if she gets a whiff of what was happening.
Which led her to no other option than to phone Hazel up,She had agreed to come by later in the afternoon,if telling Hazel about her real mother was what was going to give her peace of mind so be it.
"Are you okay?"Jane asked again, sitting down in front of her as she pushed the bible and chaplets close to her, which has been her company these days.
She had gone for confession with a pure heart, but yet the happiness and contentment she had before, wasn’t the same until she called Hazel this morning.
She had to do it, irrespective of the fact that she always has her head high and doesn’t tolerate bullshits from Hazel.
But now, things have changed, she owes it to her to tell her the truth and stop keeping her in the dark, but what she didn’t stop to ask herself, was if Hazel really was interested in finding her parents.
Recalling back to the first time her mother had this conversation with Hazel at the hospital, she had strongly declined the idea of doing that, which made her wonder if she was doing the right thing.
She doesn’t want to find her parents for reasons only known to her, which she doesn’t care to ask. That was not her business anyway.
Her business here now was to let know that her real mother came for her last week days ago,it’s now left for her to do something about it.
She wouldn’t tell her that she lied to her mother,no,she doesn’t trust Hazel, she’s too cunning.
Who knows if she wouldn’t put the blame on her,for keeping this golden opportunity to find her mother away from her and Lady Morgana gets to know of what she did.
She would have had to keep that part from Hazel, but the most important thing right now was letting her know for the meantime,so that she could have a relaxed mind.
God knows she would have thanksgiving, if this works out well the way she planned.
How do criminals sleep at night after what they do?
Honestly speaking, she hasn’t exactly thought that she would end up having a change of mind, and being frustrated for taking the money and lying to Hazel’s mother.
This was not the way Susan does things!
Not at all,she doesn’t know when she starts having such a good heart, she doesn’t know at all.
She had hated Hazel right from the first time she saw the way her mother treasured her, and throughout her stay here in the orphanage but here she was, trying to tell her something that would change her life for good.
She was already living a luxurious life being the daughter-in-law of such a wealthy family, was luck not on her side?
And now,her real mother who was dope wealthy was also coming for her. Well, she tried not to have a false impressession about the sudden change in Hazel’s life.
She’s lucky, and maybe deserved that happiness, all she had to do was to be happy for her right?
She should be happy because she’s not here anymore to get her mother’s undivided attention for herself, that had been the only thing she held against her.
She was a born star and always loved wherever she was,so,why does it sound as if she was a bit jealous?
Are you jealous Susan?
She questioned herself, still lost in thought that she didn’t see the annoying look Jane had on her face for ignoring her entire existence.
"Susan!!"Jane yelled, this time with a light slap on Susan’s face which brought her back to reality.
"What the..."Susan didn’t finish her statement when she recalled where she was, looking into the smiling face of Jane who was happy for what she did.
"What was that for?’’Susan snapped at her,she wasn’t in the mood to talk to her,not when she would be the gladdest of all to know of what she did.
She would run off and spill everything to get mother, despite the fact of her telling her to keep it a secret.
"That was to bring you back to reality, what’s with the going on and off recently"Jane asked, although she was happy to slap her because she wanted to do that for a while now.
God forgive her soul!
"I’m fine,Jane"She admitted, looking away from her scrutinizing gaze that was trying to figure out what it was that was bothering her.
"No,you are not,and you Susan, you know that you are not fine,do care to tell your sister what’s wrong with you?’’She asked, perching down on a nearby seat to give Susan a listening ear.
Looking into the desperate eyes of Jane, who wanted to hear what it was that was making her act this way for quite some time now,she questioned if she was really concerned about her or was it just an act?
They might be nuns and work for the love of humanity, but they are still human beings and human beings betray each other.
Is it a good idea if she tells her about what she told Hazel’s mother, and how she had been having insomnia for days, and seeing Hazel’s face constantly in her sleep?
Would it be a good idea to tell her?
She needed to let this burden of her shoulder, and needed someone to assure that what she was about to do by letting Hazel know was not a bad idea.
Jane,a fellow nun like her, was willing to listen to her, while others have chosen to gossip with her name rather than trying to know what’s wrong with her.
She knew.
She knew everything that was going on,the gossips, the constant stares they give her whenever she’s in sight as if she was losing her mind and was on the verge of going crazy.
She knew all of that, not that it was the least of her problems at the moment, maybe telling Jane about what she’s about to do won’t hurt, rather than using the excuse of taking chances and falling into whatever game Jane was playing by agreeing to listen to her.
She would twist her words, and not give her any room for suspicions, she had to be careful.
"I committed a huge sin,Jane and it’s eating me up. ’’She opened up finally, with folded arms on the table as Jane moved closer to her.
"Did you kill someone?"Jane whispered, which made the two burst into laughter.
Seriously?
Jane was more dumb than she looked, how could she actually thinks she could commit murder?
"How could you mind reach to that extent after hearing i committed a sin?"
"If i can recall correctly, you called it a huge sin, what exactly do you want me to think of aside from that?’’Jane asked, clumsily, not believing she was having this discussion with Susan.
She had made it clear to her on countless occasions that she was nothing, but a threat to her,but here they were, talking to each other about what was wrong with her.
"You are unbelievable"
"Then,"moming closer to face Susan"I guess it’s about the woman who came to visit last week"
"How do you know that?"
"It’s obvious, you started behaving strangely ever since she came,so,what is it about her that have you behaving like a zombie"
Breathing in one last time after gathering courage to tell her what she’s been keeping a secret.
"I lied to you"
"Lied to me about what?"
"The last time you asked what she wanted,I told you her child was dead,"Susan said, rubbing her arms in a soothing manner to look into Jane’s eyes.
"Yes,so what do you lie about?"Jane queried, scratching her hair.
"Her child is not dead"
"What! Susan how could you?’’Jane flared up in astonishment, she didn’t see Susan as someone who could do something like this.
"Jane please,I told you this because i couldn’t live with the guilt anymore"
Looking at her sides to check if anyone was eavesdropping on their conversation, and found no one,she turned to her.
"What are you going to do now?she looked really rich and influential, what if she finds out you lied to her"
"That’s what I’m afraid off, that why i need to let her child know before it’s too late"
"Wow,you knew her child but lied to the mother that she’s dead,Susan you really did commit a huge sin!"Jane figured out the reason why she called it a huge sin.
"I know, but you can stop acting up?you are making me nervous about meeting her child"
"Fine,who’s her child?"
Looking at Jane, while debating if she did the right thing telling her about this, she swallowed her pride and looked into the anxious eyes of Jane.
"It’s...Hazel ’’She muttered and saw the horrified, may be surprised look on her face.
Girl,you are in trouble!
