30 Days of Passion and Revenge-Chapter 60: Veiled Concerns
The male voice Alex heard on the phone had a very unfriendly tone, which made her question her decision to marry such a man.
Is he good to you? Is it good enough for you to give yourself to him forever?
Alex’s series of urgent and hurried words made Lily’s eyes red.
Her hand was still in his hand.
His palm had the warmth that belonged to him, and the mint fragrance on his body was light.
Give to him for a lifetime?
Give to whom for a lifetime? Ethan or Alex?
A lifetime of marriage.
She could never have a good marriage again because Alex’s fiancée was not her.
After a while, she looked at him with red eyes, forcing herself to choke, and asked expressionlessly, "Alex, you are also twenty-two years old; you are already engaged, then are you sure?"
Are you sure that Alice Johnson is the person you want?
Hearing this, Alex was stunned and let go of her hand.
Looking at her hand hanging down, Lily’s heart was empty for the first time, empty and pale, with nothing.
Alex’s face was also bleak and pale, and his tone was somewhat embarrassed: "I thought about waiting for you to return. I would not be engaged if I knew I could find you this year."
What if he found her? Give her an explanation? Tell her that he was going to be engaged.
Like what was written on the blackboard of the kindergarten classroom, ask if she would bless him and bless him with a happy marriage.
Looking at such an Alex, she suddenly felt very uncomfortable.
He thought that her dodging and escaping were all because he didn’t find her early, so he felt guilty and embarrassed.
But he didn’t understand; she had never been angry with him from childhood to adulthood, no matter what he did.
"In fact, so many years have passed, everything has changed."
Lily looked at Alex’s face, which was filled with self-blame and paleness. Slowly, she raised her hand with the ring. Her tone was somewhat indifferent, and her expression didn’t care: "I’m not getting married. I just wore the ring because it looked beautiful. Why does it have to have the significance of getting married?"
Alex silently looked at her, his face still pale.
Worried that Ethan would be in a hurry and something would happen, Lily wiped her tears and ran to the dining area. There was a French feast on the original seat but no figure of Ethan.
Lily was shocked and wondered if she had stayed in the corridor with Alex for too long and had been discovered by Ethan?!
Lily looked around in a panic, and suddenly, a familiar figure entered her sight.
She saw Ethan standing in front of the astronomical telescope with a slightly bent waist. His side face was perfectly curved, and he was attentively adjusting the telescope.
Lily patted her cheek and then walked over, asking in confusion, "What are you looking at?"
Stars? The moon? The Milky Way?!
Hearing her voice, Ethan didn’t lift his head and continued to adjust, but his voice was cold, "Why don’t you sleep in the restroom and then come over?"
She would be crazy to sleep in the restroom...
Ethan said ten sentences and nine and a half could make people angry.
Lily was too lazy to argue with him; seeing him constantly playing with the telescope, she could only stand quietly on the side.
In a glance, Alex came out of the corridor. His face was still pale, as if he was sick as if he felt something. Alex suddenly looked towards her side.
Their eyes met, looking at each other from afar.
No one’s gaze was taken away, and Alex stopped.
"Lily, look!"
Ethan suddenly roughly grabbed her slender shoulder and pressed her in front of the telescope, and his magnetic voice was excited, "See it?"
"What do you see?" Lily insincerely followed his words and asked, then looked towards Alex again.
Alex was still standing there, motionless, like a frozen picture.
"Lily, are you stupid or not?" Ethan was so angry that he slapped the top of her head. "Didn’t I adjust the position? Did you see Sirius?"
In the sight, Alex looked at them for a long time, then slowly turned around and left, never looking back.
Ethan’s angle was always tilted with his back to Alex.
She didn’t know if Alex had seen Ethan’s face and recognized Ethan.
If he did, would he think that the B.E.’s attack on Alex was related to her...
If so, would he... start to hate her.
"Lily, where are you looking?!"
Ethan just realized that her gaze was not on the telescope and immediately got angry and shouted, turning her gaze along her sight.
The hotel corridor was empty.
There were only a few floor vases.
"Lily!" Ethan shouted at her in dissatisfaction, and his irritable roar made the people dining next to them look back repeatedly.
"I’m looking."
Lily had to take back her mind and focus on the telescope. The direction Ethan adjusted was to the south.
The dark night sky was dotted with a few flickering stars.
Lily looked up blankly and asked, "Which one is Sirius?"
"You are foolish, Lily!"
After disgusting her, Ethan reluctantly said, "The brightest one."
Lily looked again and saw the most dazzling star among the few twinkling stars. It looked beautiful in the telescope but similar to other stars, and she couldn’t see anything special.
"I see it," Lily said lightly, reporting the task completed to him.
"Sirius is hard to find in this season." Ethan reached out from behind, hugged her waist, and said affectionately, "Isn’t it?"
"Is it?"
Lily’s reaction was insignificant; he didn’t want her to praise his ability to find stars, right?
"But..." Ethan kissed the corner of her eye, "The old man said that seeing this star is usually a sign of bad things coming."
Lily, who was staring at the telescope, immediately looked up and looked back at Ethan with an idiotic gaze.
He had been messing with this telescope for a long time to find this star that foretold bad luck and bad things coming?!
Has this man’s brain been shot...
"Lily! If you look at me like that again, I’ll strangle you here!" Ethan said fiercely, reaching out to strangle her, but he didn’t do it.
"Why look at an unlucky star?"
"What are you doing looking at an unlucky star?"
"Make a wish to it and see if it comes true?"
Make a wish to an unlucky star?
Will that bring even worse things to her? It shouldn’t be possible; her life couldn’t be worse.
"I don’t have any wishes to make."
"Make a wish!" Ethan’s tone was domineering and irresistible.
People still force wishes; Lily closed the telescope’s cover and said flatly, "I don’t have any wishes to make."
