Chapter 59: Chapter 59- Volta Died

Volta’s plush lips parted in a soft sigh, her chest heaving heavily and straining the front zipper of her suit as the hum of power ran through her veins. She didn’t flinch as the villains’ dark presence pressed against her.

However, their presence here, arriving at this exact moment, made it clear that whatever Darithi said was correct.

These villains, definitely from the Villain Syndicate, had some deep connection with the dean of the hospital, as the way they spoke made it evident that they were here to act as bodyguards for someone.

"Your mistake," she said, her husky voice steady, "is thinking you can match me."

The wind surged violently, whipping her hair, and the taller villain stepped forward, his form melting into the air itself. "You may be S-rank, Volta," he hissed, "but no one stands against us."

In a blur of motion, he thrust his hands out, sending a wave of twisted metal toward her—a spray of jagged shards shot forward.

Volta’s emerald eyes reflected the metal shards as she created a small one-meter radius domain made out of her pure power. Her athletic thighs braced firmly apart, enhancing the alluring curve of her hips.

She didn’t dodge; she absorbed.

Every shard that flew toward her beautiful face halted just a few inches from her body, as if its kinetic energy completely vanished and got absorbed directly into her humming core.

The attack only fueled her hot veins—and also told her that these villains were of A rank.

The shards, like empty motionless objects, fell one after another to the concrete ground.

"You’re going to regret this." With a violent motion faster than the eye could follow, Volta hurled herself, her powerful thighs launching her forward. She charged with raw kinetic energy toward the villain who was trying to prepare another metal storm.

Her supple body reinforced by kinetic energy, arriving just a meter away from the villain, suddenly sent his shard’s kinetic energy straight into his body. The sheer force of it was enough to crush his heavy armor, sending him careening backward, crashing into the rooftop with a deafening crash—the speed was the exact same as that with which he had fired those shards earlier.

She just gave him a lethal speed he couldn’t control with enhanced kinetic energy.

"Arghh!" His eyes rolled back as he fell down on the roof, but the thick cement railing, already hit by such devastating force, crumbled entirely.

A thick cloud of dust billowed into the night sky.

Far below, glass shattered from the sheer force, raining down onto the busy street.

"Ahhh! Get back!" someone screamed in terror.

"Mama, the building! It’s breaking!" a child cried.

"Run—RUN! It’s gonna fall!"

The second villain, quicker than his companion, darted toward her exposed flank.

He let loose a screeching howl, his fists tearing through the air, sending jagged shards of broken metal from the surroundings to wrap around her like cruel chains. The rough metal momentarily bound her, pressing tightly against her lush curves, biting into the soft flesh of her waist and thighs for a split second.

Volta’s eyes flickered, her voluptuous body momentarily shrouded in a hot veil of pure purple energy as the chains struck her—only to instantly lose all motion and fall uselessly at her booted feet.

"Pathetic," Volta sneered. She leapt forward, her heavy breasts bouncing against the tight confinement of her latex, but while doing so, she noticed a peculiar thing: both of them were able to use each other’s attacks—maybe some kind of dark ability both possessed.

Her energy surged hotly, her every fluid movement using a huge amount of force akin to a train collision. Now that she saw the elongating fight severely endangering the innocent people down the streets, she threw a devastating, full-body punch toward the villain.

His broken body slammed violently into the rooftop wall, leaving a deep imprint of his form.

"ARGHH!—thud!" The sickening crack of his bones was drowned out by the shattering glass and groaning structural pillars around them.

"Please! Someone help!"

"We’re trapped under the debris!"

Volta’s breath hitched for a frantic moment. Her wide eyes darted to the side—to the panicked street far below.

There were two massive disadvantages she currently had. The first one was how, while fighting Ryken that night, she had aggressively used up most of her kinetic energy reserves, which was far more than necessary to subdue him. The second was the fragile people around her.

She saw it then: massive chunks of the rooftop, dislodged from the brutal impact, falling rapidly toward the crowd gathering at the base of the building.

No time to think.

She vaulted off the rooftop, diving like a comet of glowing purple energy, the wind roaring past her curves.

She hit the side of the building mid-fall, violently redirecting herself, slamming her soft shoulder into a massive falling slab of concrete.

"GET OUT OF THERE!" she bellowed, her face flushed with extreme exertion.

She barely managed to redirect the heavy debris just enough for it to crash into an abandoned vehicle instead of the scattering civilians.

A searing, blinding pain shot through her delicate side—ribs cracked dangerously, her shoulder dislocated with a wet pop—due to using most of her absorbed kinetic energy earlier. Falling unexpectedly and taking the blunt force, she severely injured herself. The violent impact tore a gash in her tight suit, exposing a strip of hot, bruised skin along her ribs.

Bright red blood spilled past her plush lips as she landed hard, her body rolling across the rough pavement to break the impact.

"She saved us..." a man whispered in utter disbelief.

Volta staggered weakly back to her feet, barely upright. Blinding pain radiated through her entire beautiful body as she propped her back heavily against the nearby wall, her chest heaving in ragged, desperate gasps.

Above her, looking at the dizzying height toward the broken railing of the building, she saw both of those villains slowly standing there. Their bodies were heavily injured, yet both of them grabbed each other’s hands before slowly looking down toward her ruined form.

As she, with her fatigued, sweating gaze, looked upward at them, they created a huge, dark black spear. Its deadly radius increased rapidly with each passing second. Before looking down at Volta’s panting figure, they declared: "You’ll break before we do!"

BOOM!

The single, deafening sound of the spear resonated before the massive energy ball arrived directly an inch away from Volta. Her emerald eyes widened as the sharp metal grazed her soft cheek, spilling warm blood down her skin. As she swiftly charged the residual kinetic energy she absorbed while falling down and hitting the rubble, her body glowing one last time, she desperately tried to use it against the spear to nullify it and in a single, explosive attack to kill those two.

But—

’!?!’

’What?’ Her eyes widened in absolute horror the moment she felt all her hot, protective energy completely vanish. The purple aura scattered instantly as she felt that chilling new aura wash over her naked vulnerability. Her pupils trembled as she realized in that particular moment, looking toward both villains, that the other one—whose abilities unlike the other wasn’t the metallic type—had the power to share, freeze, and completely strip others’ abilities.

SCKHLT!

"Khuckh!—" Ytrisia’s eyes widened the exact moment the massive, dark spear directly pierced her chest, tearing brutally through her tight latex and completely obliterating her solar plexus. Her beautiful eyes bloodied instantly as she exhaled a wet, choked gasp, looking up at the night sky.

’I...shouldn’t have let my guard down...’ Before the completion of her final thought, she felt her eyelids becoming impossibly heavy as her racing heartbeat abruptly stopped.

She died.
