100X Returns System: I Dominate the Age of Gods-Chapter 221. Chickens (demons) on the chopping board - 2
Inari remained collapsed on the ground until she felt the ground trembling under her. At first it was distant, like a low vibration traveling through the floating island beneath her. Then the tremors grew stronger; each tremble came heavier than the last.
The huge impacts of the colossal knight’s stomps woke her up. Her eyelids slowly opened, heavily and sluggishly. The world swam into focus through a haze of pain and exhaustion; she felt something digging into her head, something alive like a parasite.
As a few waves of golden shockwaves passed, the parasitic creature came off her head and crawled away before it could be hit even more.
Relief washed her up as she felt the pain leaving her body. Now her eyes opened up; she saw the sky was dim while a cascade of golden energy swirled in the air. The entire battlefield was drenched in radiant light mana. Golden light energy particles fell like snowflakes from the sky.
A few miles away, she saw a humongous halo of a golden knight slaughtering demons. The sight left her shocked and sent a chill up her spine.
"When did the academy get such means?? Why didn’t they use it earlier???" Several more questions popped up in her head as she looked at the colossal figure.
Suddenly Andrea appeared by her side and spoke, "Senior Inari, I need your help!!"
"Ugh!! What?" Inari clutched her head, but Andrea did not give her time; she immediately poured a bunch of potions on her head and some stamina potions in her mouth. The liquid splashed across Inari’s face and down her throat before she could even protest.
Andrea then picked her up and flew into the sky.
"Mghmm!!" Inari released muffled noises as Andrea’s potions almost choked her; her eyes widened as she found herself being piggybacked by Andrea.
Wind rushed past them as Andrea shot upward through the battlefield smoke.
A few moments later Andrea pointed at a portion on the ground. "Look, this bastard Bellial is trying to escape. Stop him, senior Inari, and bind him with your spiritual energy; let me kill him properly."
"Brat, release me first and let me fly on my own," Inari spoke, clapping Andrea’s shoulders hurriedly.
Andrea released Inari in the air and let her float.
Inari used her spiritual energy to float in the air before she looked down at Berllial with a sneer. "Khekh, bastard, your end is near."
In the forest below, Bellial was hurriedly trying to pen up an abyssal portal and escape. Dark mist gathered around his hands as he tried to tear open a gateway through space.
Even though he had no mouth, eyes, nose, or any other crease on his face, just his hurried moments revealed his desperation to leave and the fear he was experiencing.
Bellial waved his hands, and his position got camouflaged by an illusion; he took a sigh of relief and shifted positions by a few miles while keeping the illusion intact.
The forest distorted slightly as his illusion wrapped around him like a veil.
Yet a wave of light energy erupted again as the knight moved his other sword in a distant slaughter of Bellial’s demon generals.
The light wave tore through the illusion. He tried to set the illusion again, but this time the amount of light energy infused in the air hindered and stopped any illusion from activating. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Almost instantly Andrea’s and Inari’s figures loomed over him again.
This time not fearing his illusions, Inari just froze Bellial in the air.
Invisible coils of spiritual energy tightened around him, locking his limbs and suspending him helplessly above the ground.
Meanwhile, Andrea conjured a sequence of huge, sharp crystals.
Several crystal spikes grew from the ground like a bed of death and pierced his back.
One of them was conjured a few meters above him in the sky, started spinning, and shot towards Bellial, pinning him down to the ground against the sharp surface of the crystal bed from his stomach, almost making a mess of it. The crystal impaled through his body and buried deep into the earth beneath him.
Another crystal landed above, shattering the previous one, going further deep, and spilling its organs out.
Bellial screamed and squirmed under Andrea’s wrath.
Andrea, meanwhile, transformed partially into her dragon form as crystal scales, sharp, piercing claws, and ferocious fangs appeared.
Her nails elongated into curved claws while shimmering crystal scales crawled across her arms and shoulders.
She appeared beside Bellial while Inari restricted any movement from him.
Andrea’s other hand dug into the already cleaved stomach.
Like putting her hands in a bag searching for her key, Andrea searched Berllial’s chest cavity; there was no mercy, and his screams were ignored completely.
Warm demonic blood coated her claws as she tore deeper into his body.
Andrea searched Bellial’s demon core with the intention of destroying it and cutting off any chance of his revival ever in the future.
"Argghhhh!!!!" Bellial screamed and convulsed blood, but Andrea did not stop her gruesome ways. Several moments passed, but nothing came into her grasp.
There was no core at all in the whole body.
"Kheukk!!" Bellial spat a mouthful of blood before speaking. "Have you even killed a true-born demon before??" he chuckled.
"We demons are not limited and weak like you; we are built different, much more distant from your pathetic imaginations," Bellial spat and laughed with an evil expression as if relishing the sense of defeat on Andrea’s face, while half of his body remained split and splattered on the ground.
Andrea looked at him with wide eyes; a frustrating realization occurred to her.
She had never killed a demon lord; only the prime astral wardens had achieved that feat. Only they knew how to kill one.
"Hehehe!! What happened, Miss Principal? Do you not even know how to kill a true born?? Heheheh, too bad it seems like being an Astral Warden is a joke nowadays!!!" Bellial laughed again.
Andrea’s eyes went bloodshot. Her breathing grew heavier as anger and helplessness clashed inside her chest.
She had fought for hours. She had bled in this battle; she had risked her life countless times. Yet now, at the final moment, she realized she did not even know how to finish the enemy.
The humiliation and helplessness burned worse than any wound.
She did not want to lose after coming so far, yet she had no idea what to do, and she doubted the halo of the knight, who did not seem to have any consciousness of its own, would know.
Bellial kept laughing at her face while her frustration kept piling up.
His laughter became so irritating for her that in an instant Andrea’s claws sharpened, and she struck with her claws before tearing apart his limbs one by one.
Bones cracked as she ripped his arm away.
"Who allowed you to laugh, you worm?" she roared as her eyes glowed with anger.
Her claws traced Belial’s whole body and slit every piece of flesh she could find. Blood sprayed across the ground as her fury finally erupted.
"Fucker, die!!!" she screamed before slashing at his face.
"Andrea!!!" Inari’s voice sounded from behind.
Andrea, covered in demonic blood, stopped and looked back at her. Inari pointed towards a certain direction with a distressed expression.
Andrea turned to look at the direction she pointed to, only to find the colossal knight’s halo walking slowly towards them. Each step of the massive construct crushed stone and left glowing footprints of light behind.
He had wiped out every demon in a matter of half an hour. Now the only demonic presence he sensed was from the direction he was walking to, to end his quest and quench his thirst for demon blood.
Andrea, meanwhile, remained puzzled. She knew for a fact that if Bellial died so simply, then he would be able to revive unless his core was not destroyed.
That was the only way to kill a being above the true divinity realm of cultivation. Even though this knight might erase the current form of Bellial, if his core is not destroyed on time, then he will only revive again and regain his strength in almost a few years.
It won’t be long before he rebuilds an army and attacks them again with a much greater force.
And that thought burned in Andrea’s chest, making her restless.
