’Only a seven percent boost!’
Floki lamented inwardly as he carefully scanned the new title’s description.
He had half expected some sort of serious power-up to give him a proper advantage against these ugly monsters. But all he had gotten was a minimal increase in certain stats. He was clearly not impressed.
’What was I really expecting though?’
After all, his main quest was Hell-level. The system had even mentioned that he would not get to enjoy certain benefits because of the quest difficulty. This could very well be one of them.
CHEE... CHEE
BANG... SMASH
If he had all the time in the world, he would spend a minute or two debating with the system. But unfortunately, killing one of the goblin champions had riled up something intense within the other goblins, as they all began to grunt furiously, banging their weapons on the ground to create a destructive noise that could easily deafen the ears.
With a greatsword in his grasp, Floki struggled to remain calm as he observed all their movements, keeping a sharp eye out for which one of them would attack first.
Before he could even shift his gaze to his left, two of the goblin champions—one wielding a battle axe and the other wielding a heavy metal bat—lunged at him at once.
Their movements were so rapid that he only managed to throw his body in another direction at the very last moment, and even with all his effort, the impact of their heavy weapons still sent a painful force through his body, triggering every pain-receiving nerve.
He did not even get the chance to let out a cry of pain as the battle axe-wielding goblin champion struck at him again, not even considering the fact that he was already down.
Floki cursed his bad luck and then channeled all the strength he could muster to lift the greatsword and use it to block the incoming strike. Even though it managed to save him from instant death, the electric pain that shot through his body was completely unexplainable. For that brief moment, he felt like his entire being had gone numb.
But he endured through it and forced himself to stand up at the exact second the metal baton user smashed toward him again.
Floki resorted to only fleeing, as at the moment, he did not possess enough strength to attack, only to escape and survive.
’How am I going to really complete this damn mission on my own! My stamina is running low. I have insufficient experience points to level up, and I have no sort of assistance.’
He cried out loud, hoping the system would hear him and maybe, by some twist of luck, grant him a much-needed power-up.
BANG!
CHEE... CHEE
SMASH!
CRACK!
At the current moment, Floki could be compared to a rat being chased by an entire family.
Every new position he entered, there was always a goblin champion attacking him.
The others had even begun to partake in the fight partially.
When he got close, they would attack, and when he was not, they would switch to spectating and reacting, chanting angrily with their disgusting voices.
The scene in the cave could even be compared to a nightmare, where one faces a situation with no way out.
Unfortunately, this was reality, and there were only two ways out. The easiest being death, and the hardest and seemingly impossible one being managing to defeat the goblin champions.
Minutes went by painfully.
Even with his nimble movements, he was not completely safe from the goblin champions.
[ Opponent has entered [Exhausted] state, all opponent’s stats have been reduced by 50% ]
He received two different notifications at once, but the situation this time was much different from before. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
His stamina had dropped even lower, and his stats had reduced accordingly. Not only that, he was now up against two scary opponents instead of one.
’Can I exhaust them further?’
He wondered.
Fighting them, even now that they only had half their stats, was still suicide.
So he chose the only option available in his mind and resumed his desperate escape.
But it was not yielding any form of result whatsoever.

Outside the cave
"Young Chief!"
"Young chief! Please tell us you’re okay."
"Floki!"
Anton and Jabba’s voices spread across the bushes, their loud banging sending the small animals fleeing for safety.
Not too far away from the cave, relaxed on a random tree, was a figure clad in neat black clothing and flashy black leather armour that reflected the moonlight filtering through the branches.
A longsword with a peculiar insignia on its handle rested on his chest, as he appeared to be sleeping despite the noise and the dangers lurking within the forest.
HISS
From the branches of the tree, a terrifying shadow snake crept toward his position, its eyes glowing red in the dark and fixed on its prey.
As it lunged closer, it suddenly shot its fangs forward, ready to bite into the resting figure.
But before its fangs could get any closer, the figure moved abruptly and swiftly, gripping and swinging his blade in one clean motion, chopping the snake in half.
Because of the sudden series of movements, the branch he had been lying on cracked and became unstable.
The figure leapt down from the tree and landed smoothly on the ground beneath him.
He could hear the banging noises and the repeated shouting of a particular name that he was familiar with, or rather, was forced to become familiar with.
