Noble Pampering: Demon CEO's Relentless Entanglement
Chapter 1129 - 1125: Wherever She Goes, He Wants to Go With Her
Their days gradually settled into a kind of sweet calm; even their arguments had lessened a lot. Only occasionally would Sophie still act a little spoiled in front of Asher Land.
On Tuesday afternoon, the weather was lovely. Sophie’s plan had originally been to drive Alexander out for a small spring outing. But while she was still packing up, Asher called.
"If you’ve got something to say, hurry up and say it. I’m busy and don’t have time." Sophie turned on speaker, tossed the phone to the side, then went into the kitchen to hunt for food suitable to take on a spring outing. Alexander sat obediently at the dining table beside her, his little face full of anticipation.
"Busy? Busy with what?" Asher lounged lazily back in his leather office chair, eyes closed, head tipped up slightly.
These days the company’s affairs were anything but light. Luke Land used to treat the company like a three-day-fishing, two-day-sunning sort of thing; now most of his energy was focused on Eva Miller. Hah, when the baby in Eva’s belly was only one month along, Luke already treated her like some kind of goddess on a pedestal. Now at five months, whenever he saw Eva suffer even the slightest bit, Luke practically wished he could be the one giving birth himself...
"Alexander’s school had something today so he’s off, he’s at home. I thought he looked bored, so I’m taking him on a spring outing. So if you’ve got nothing else, just hang up. I’m busy packing."
The corner of Asher’s mouth twitched as he let out a cold snort. This woman—does he even exist in her eyes anymore? She’s going on a spring outing and doesn’t even bring him?
"You’re not allowed to go today." If they were going, they had to go with him. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"Asher Land, can you not be so domineering? Are you going to restrict my and our son’s personal freedom now?" It was just going out the door, did she really have to clear it with him?
Sophie couldn’t be bothered to argue with him; she simply hung up and tossed the phone aside.
Listening to the busy tone coming from the phone, Asher honestly had the urge to smash his phone onto the floor.
"President Land, we can start the afternoon meeting now. All the senior management have arrived and are waiting for you in the conference room."
"Got it." Asher replied, then pulled his chair back and stood up. He rummaged through his folder, but didn’t see the materials for today’s meeting.
Yesterday the secretary had already sorted the meeting documents for him, but when he got off work, because he wanted to add something to the meeting content, he took the files home and then... left them there.
"President Land, what’s wrong?" The secretary beside him saw Asher searching the folder and asked in puzzlement.
"The documents I need for the meeting are at home." His voice was low.
"We have plenty of time this afternoon, President Land. How about I go pick them up for you now?" Robert Williams took two steps forward and said.
"No need."
"Then... President Land, what about the afternoon meeting?" The secretary was getting a little anxious.
Asher didn’t answer. He just picked up his phone again and dialed Sophie’s number.
"What is it now?" Sophie pouted, sounding a little impatient.
"Go to the study and bring the black folder on my desk to Golden Era Consortium."
"President Land, there’s no need to trouble Miss Smith. I can go get it..."
Asher swept a cold look over Robert, and Robert shut his mouth tactfully.
"Exactly, Asher Land, I just heard Robert’s voice too. Just have Robert go pick it up, why drag me into it? I’m spending the afternoon with our son."
