New World with Four Husbands
Chapter 708: Suit for the groom
After her talk with Cleora, Coco had moved on from the heavy feeling she felt that day.
Now, she’s at the heart of the city of Archesheen, her head whipping around as she walks with her husbands and her soon-to-be husband.
Coco has no recollection of how Coco Hughes got married to Zaque and the other three, so she has no reference whatsoever on what to do, but it’s okay, she doesn’t mind, she’ll just help Kairo look around for what kind of suit he might want.
"What color do you want, Kai?" Heiren asked, making the hybrid glance at him.
"I don’t really care what color is given to me." Kairo answered, making Coco turn to him as they walked. "As long as I get married to Coco.. That’s all that matters, honestly."
Coco felt her heart race at his words, her breath hitching.
Goodness, how could someone be such a heartthrob even though he’s already getting married to her in less than a month? Just thinking about him, even if he was standing right next to her, gave her that butterfly sensation in her stomach.
Kairo doesn’t know it, but he has that effect on her.
Coco was brought out of her thoughts when she heard a soft, breathy laugh beside her.
"You look so adorable. What are you thinking?" Zaque asked her, making Coco perk up and look away from the hybrid.
Coco blinked and glanced at the first husband, cheeks getting warm.
Zaque simply flashed his wife a smile.
Swallowing, Coco and her husbands, along with Kairo, continued to walk down the long city street in silence.
They could tell that their dearest wife was embarrassed, so they spared her and decided to just keep their lips shut, not wanting to make her blow a fuse.
The cobbled street and the vibrant stalls that lined the road are buzzing with excitement, each vendor shouting advertisements for their wares, with the smell of street food and city life lingering in the air which enticed some passerby to stop by.
As they strolled through the plaza, they eventually arrived at a small tailor shop on the corner of the street— the front window is lined with display suits in various cuts and styles.
Coco’s eyes went wide when she saw it, her face brightening up significantly.
However, that excitement died down when she shivered slightly as a gust of cold air blew through the plaza and seeped through under her clothing, her coat barely keeping out the cold.
Kairo and Zaque, who were standing on either side of her, noticed immediately, shuffling closer to her and sandwiching the woman between them.
Kairo reached out his gloved hand and gently took hers, the gesture a warm comfort in the cold air.
Coco froze and looked at him, eyes softening as she squeezed his hand back, her heart giving way to that familiar flutter once more.
The two walked closer than earlier, with Zaque not far from beside her.
The mediator wanted to make sure that Coco wouldn’t move away from the hybrid, so he stood close to her, ensuring that the two wouldn’t separate.
When all of them reached the shop, Kairo was the first to step forward and open the door, holding it open for Coco.
She ducked under his arm, her free hand adjusting her coat once she passed.
Kairo followed closely behind, slipping into the quaint building behind her and leaving the door in Quizen’s hand as Alhai, Heiren, and Zaque passed.
The inside of the store held several display racks filled with casual suits, jackets, coats, and formal suits.
Past the racks was an older man sitting behind the counter at the back of the small shop, his lips curled into a friendly smile as the six of them neared his counter.
The six of them approached the counter with slow pace, their presence filling the small space. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
The elderly man behind it straightened slightly— his eyes crinkling in a warm smile as he leaned his elbows on the glass countertop.
His gaze flicked to each one of them before he settled on Coco.
"What can I do for you, good sirs and madame?" He asked cheerfully, though his gaze flickered to Coco’s bright face and that grin.
She beamed at the old man, excitement sparkling in her eyes as she tugged Kairo closer, then she gestured to him with one hand, her words tumbling out in a soft rush of enthusiasm.
"Hi, sir! Good morning to you!" She greeted, shuffling on her feet. "We’re looking for the perfect suit for my groom!"
The man’s smile simply warmed more at her enthusiasm, if that was possible, his eyes flicking to Kairo as he nodded understanding before looking back at Coco.
"I see." He stated, nodding towards the racism "Well, we have plenty of suits to choose from. Is there a particular style or color you have in mind?"
Kairo pursed his lips, pressure settling over him when he felt and saw everyone turned to him to listen well for his decision, but truly, he doesn’t have a particular suit in mind.
He just wants to marry Coco, that’s all.
He let out a quiet huff, shaking his head slightly as all eyes landed on him.
He wasn’t used to being the center of attention, but he did notice the expectant looks on the group’s face.
"Uh.. Any color is fine." He mumbled, sending the old man a sheepish look. "I, uh.. I’m not picky."
The old man could only chuckle lightly, his smile knowing as he took in the silent communication from the handsome man before him.
"No worries, young man." He assured him, making Kairo loosen up slightly. "We have plenty to choose from— I’m sure we can find something to your liking."
Kairo nodded, his gaze softening for a split second as he looked at Coco, before looking back to the tailor.
"Thank you." He murmured, sighing. "I would appreciate it if the suit could match my bride’s."
