Necromancer Of The Shadows
Chapter 1398: Ruler of Space (Part 3)
When Evan used the Realm Guardian Authority, he had expected Florita to emerge from the portal.
This was because Anastasia had instructed her essence clone inside the Primordial Shadow Realm to send Florita every time Evan used the Realm Guardian Authority.
The main reason she gave this instruction was to avoid an incident similar to the one that had happened inside the Tomb of the Ancient, when Evan used the Realm Guardian Authority for the very first time.
Back then, when he had activated it to save himself from Eldraker and Baphomet, the shadow undead that emerged from the portal was nothing more than a random low-level shadow undead.
The Realm Guardian Authority was a completely new authority that Evan had obtained because of the influence of the Realm Glyphs.
As such, even Anastasia’s essence clone did not know much about it at that time, and when Evan activated it, Valtair had simply sent a random low-level shadow undead through the portal.
To prevent something like that from happening again in the future, Anastasia had specifically instructed her essence clone to always send Florita, who was currently the only rank-six shadow undead that was not in slumber.
’What the hell is this thing?’
Evan shouted inwardly as he stared at a Worm, roughly the size of his arm, crawling out of the portal created by his Realm Guardian Authority.
’Don’t tell me some stupid low-level shadow undead passed through the portal before Florita arrived.’
Evan could not help but think this as he looked at the worm that had finally crawled out of the portal and was now staring directly at him.
The worm possessed a deep blue-colored body, with two ant-like antennae protruding from the top of its head.
Its two large silver eyes occupied nearly one-fourth of its face, staring at him innocently.
Just as Evan’s expression was turning ugly from the thought that some random low-level shadow undead had passed through the portal before Florita, his face suddenly froze because he realized something.
’Wait a second....this worm, why is it blue and doesn’t look like a shadow undead at all?’
The moment this thought surfaced in his mind, Evan immediately recalled Florita, who was also a shadow undead yet looked nothing like one.
’Only high-level shadow undeads can alter their appearance to resemble how they looked before becoming shadow undeads. Since this worm can do the same...’
"Master."
While Evan was still thinking, the worm had somehow already crawled to his feet and called out to him in a childish voice.
At the same time, Evan felt it.
A faint, yet unmistakable aura belonging to a middle-level rank-six core evolver emanated from the worm standing before him.
"The fu*k..."
Evan could not stop himself from cursing out loud because he had never expected this tiny worm to actually be a rank-six shadow undead.
"Master, I missed you very much. Even more than the space ore you used to feed me."
The worm completely ignored Evan’s shocked expression and continued speaking in the childish voice of what sounded like an eight- or nine-year-old boy.
"Missed me more than the space ore I used to feed you."
The moment Evan heard those words, he suddenly recalled one of the shadow undeads Anastasia had previously told him about.
From Anastasia, he knew that the strongest shadow undead inside the Primordial Shadow Realm was the Realm Devourer, and just like the other high-ranking shadow undeads, it was currently in slumber.
However, besides the Realm Devourer, there were several other extremely powerful shadow undeads as well.
"Are you, Draven?" Evan asked uncertainly.
"Yes, Master."
The worm rubbed its head affectionately against Evan’s leg as it answered him.
’It’s really him.’
Evan thought, and soon his heart filled with joy.
According to Anastasia, Draven was slightly weaker than Florita in a direct frontal battle.
However, unlike Florita, he was far more versatile.
Most importantly, just like Ashley, Draven was proficient in the Law of Space.
’My main priority right now is escaping from this place with Elora. I originally hoped Florita could buy me enough time to flee, but with Draven here, escaping shouldn’t be difficult at all.’
"Master, what kind of ingredients do you want me to collect this time? Just tell me, and I will mmediately go and bring them for you..."
Draven spoke while slowly rising into the air until he floated at the same height as Evan.
"It’s been a very long time since we last ate Dusk Crab from the deepest part of the Boundless Ocean. How about I go and catch one for us?"
Evan nearly choked when he heard Draven’s words and instantly felt speechless.
’Oh right, Anastasia mentioned that this guy was basically their personal toolbox for gathering food ingredients from all over the world.’
"I didn’t summon you to collect food ingredients, Draven."
Evan still had no idea why Draven had appeared instead of Florita, but he did not have the time to think about it right now.
"I need your help getting away from this place. There are many people here who are after me."
Draven’s eyes dimmed slightly after hearing Evan’s words, but he did not complain about it.
"It’s very easy, Master," He said in the same childish voice. "There is no one in this world capable of stopping me if I truly wish to leave."
As he spoke, Draven’s face displayed absolute confidence.
Evan nodded in satisfaction after hearing those words.
However, suddenly, he thought of something, and his eyes narrowed slightly.
’This entire area is currently filled with the Power of Destruction. Nothing exists here anymore. No space, no void space, not even the rules of the world themselves. Can he still fully use the power of space to take me away from here?’
Evan immediately voiced his concern to Draven.
In response, the worm merely smiled.
"I think you have forgotten my true powers, Master."
As he spoke, Draven revealed details of one of his authorities to Evan.
And the moment Evan saw it, his jaw nearly dropped to the ground in disbelief.
’This is fu*king insane.’
