Ichigo and his friends were indeed captured by the captains, but with many speaking up for them, they were ultimately let off the hook.
"What do you think Aizen will do next?" Yoruichi asked Shin.
"Why? Are you that interested?" Shin asked in return.
"Yeah, I’m actually quite curious. I wonder what that guy is planning. To be able to hide in the Soul Society for so many years... his acting skills are truly impressive."
Yoruichi had never suspected Aizen. His performance had simply been too convincing.
"What Aizen does next... you’ll find out if you just wait and see. Besides, I’m not Aizen. How would I know what he’s going to do?"
Shin rolled his eyes.
"Really? For some reason, I feel like you know exactly what he’s planning," Yoruichi said, eyeing him suspiciously.
"You should know me by now. If I don’t want to say something, asking is pointless."
Shin stretched lazily. He didn’t want to tell her, mainly because explaining it all would be a pain. Besides, Aizen was bound to make a move sooner or later. All they had to do was wait.
"I don’t think Aizen is going to let you off the hook," Yoruichi said, her gaze fixed on Shin.
Shin had easily defeated Aizen but hadn’t captured him. Aizen would definitely seek revenge. Though he hadn’t shown any open animosity towards Shin, Yoruichi’s intuition told her otherwise.
"I think you should take this seriously. Aizen is a dangerous man."
Yoruichi was saying this to warn Shin. If it weren’t for that, she wouldn’t have bothered.
"Don’t worry. No one takes Aizen more seriously than I do."
Of course, Shin took Aizen seriously—he even prioritized him over Yhwach. It was all for the Hōgyoku. Yhwach’s Almighty was tempting, as were the powers of the Sternritter, but the Hōgyoku came first.
"You say you take him seriously, but I don’t see it at all."
Yoruichi couldn’t see a hint of concern in him.
"My seriousness is all on the inside, not on the surface. Of course, you can’t see it," Shin said with a smile.
"I feel like you’re just making excuses," Yoruichi said, looking at him with annoyance. Here she was, trying to help, and this was the attitude she got?
"Don’t just ’feel’ like it. Shin-sama is definitely making excuses," Soi Fon couldn’t help but interject.
"Oh? Soi Fon, you’ve gotten quite bold." Shin reached out, pulled Soi Fon into his arms, and pinched her small face.
Being held by Shin and having her face pinched, Soi Fon’s cheeks instantly turned red.
"Don’t bully Soi Fon," Yoruichi said, glaring at Shin.
"If I don’t bully Soi Fon, then you don’t mind if I bully you, right?" Shin let go of Soi Fon, his gaze shifting to Yoruichi.
’Fine, I won’t bully Soi Fon. But I can definitely bully you.’
"Heh, you can try." Yoruichi looked at him provocatively, then immediately used Shunpo to escape.
"I thought you’d stick around after that challenge. Running away is no fun." Shin shook his head in mock disappointment, then turned his gaze back to Soi Fon.
"Shin-sama, you’re not going to bully me again, are you?" Soi Fon asked shyly, lowering her head as his eyes fell on her.
"Don’t worry, little Soi Fon. I would never bully you. I wouldn’t bully you even if I bullied everyone else."
Shin said with a smile. Soi Fon pouted slightly. She didn’t believe a word of that—he had bullied her plenty of times before.
"Soi Fon, come here."
Just then, Yoruichi’s voice called out from a nearby rooftop.
"Lady Yoruichi."
Soi Fon immediately ran towards Yoruichi, even managing to say that Lady Yoruichi was calling her as she slipped from Shin’s grasp.
But after escaping, her mood didn’t improve. In fact, she felt a little disappointed. ’Am I actually hoping Shin-sama would bully me?’
"What are you doing here?"
Just as Shin was about to go out, he saw Rukia Kuchiki arriving at the 2nd Division barracks. He was slightly surprised. What was she doing here?
"I came to thank you. Am I not welcome?" Rukia’s tone had become much more casual around Shin. Now that she understood his personality, she wasn’t so formal anymore.
"Thank me? You came empty-handed? You didn’t even bring a gift? I don’t see any sincerity in this ’thank you’ of yours."
Shin glanced at Rukia and pouted.
"What do you mean I’m not sincere? I’m very sincere!" Rukia said, a little flustered.
"Alright, I was just teasing you. I didn’t expect you to get so worked up."
Shin said to the anxious Rukia.
Rukia had wanted to bring a gift, but she didn’t have anything valuable. She couldn’t just offer him money; that would be an insult.
If Shin had known what she was thinking, he would have told her it wouldn’t be an insult at all.
"By the way, Teacher Shin, could you give me some pointers?" Rukia asked.
"Pointers?" Shin looked at Rukia. She seemed desperate to get stronger. He could understand why. After this incident, she must be craving power.
"Pointers are no problem, but I’m a bit short on cash right now. I’ll need you to prepare some tuition fees," Shin said with a smile.
Rukia looked at him, speechless. The last time her brother had asked Shin to train her, he had also prepared a lot of money. And now he wanted tuition fees again.
But Rukia didn’t refuse. Though she had come from the Rukon District and had no money, she was different now. As a member of the Kuchiki clan, she certainly wasn’t lacking in funds.
"Alright." Rukia nodded. She didn’t have the money on her, so she’d have to wait until tomorrow.
"Did Ichigo and his friends leave?" Shin asked Rukia. He hadn’t paid much attention to their situation, only knowing that they were safe now.
