"Kill, kill, kill!"
I must capture Erinaās embarrassing moments! That way, my embarrassing past can be exchanged for hers, one for one! Alice thought to herself.
Beside her, Ryo Kurokiba scratched his head, completely failing to understand why Alice was so resentful. Yesterday, she had clearly eaten Erinaās dish with immense satisfaction, wanting a second serving but holding back due to her pride. From Ryo Kurokibaās perspective, it was obvious she enjoyed it. Today, though, she was a completely different person.
"By the way, isnāt that guy the ramen shop owner from the āGodās Tongueā judging panel?" Ryo Kurokibaās voice was a little cold, his tone neither hurried nor slow.
"Hmm? You know him?" Alice asked curiously.
"Not really know him," Ryo Kurokiba replied. "It was on my first day in Japan. I suddenly wanted ramen, checked out ramen shops nearby, remembered that the last judging session was at a ramen shop, and then I found it and ate a seafood ramen there. That guyās opening hours are really inconsistent; he made me wait for a while."
"But, I really like his seafood ramen," Ryo Kurokiba didnāt hide his thoughts. "I went back a few more times later. His skill is very strong."
Those most familiar with cooking are undoubtedly the chefs themselves. Ryo Kurokiba, specializing in seafood-based cuisine, had felt the essence of the ocean in Renzās seafood dish, bringing out the pure taste of the ingredients. Ryo Kurokiba had eaten seafood ramen for several days straight; he adored this ramen shop. Who would have thought heād meet the ramen shop owner here?
Alice knew Ryo Kurokibaās personality. He wasnāt one to joke around; when he praised something, he meant it. For Ryo Kurokiba, a seafood specialist, to praise Renzās dish meant the other person had some serious skills.
So then, why was Erina out shopping with him? If their relationship wasnāt close enough, she wouldnāt have invited him along.
Could it be that...
"Erina wants to build her own team?" Alice narrowed her eyes, putting forth the most likely possibility.
Yes. Most chefs typically open individual restaurants. But some chefs form groups to open chain restaurants after graduation. At Totsuki Culinary Academy, this kind of teamwork was common.
Aliceās father had a world-class restaurant called āNakiri International,ā a place that specialized in Danish core concept cuisine, built around his principles. For Erina to start building her own team at this age made perfect sense.
However, to be worthy of the "Godās Tongue"... In Aliceās eyes, few people in Totsuki could match that standard.
"Never mind. Letās just follow them and see what happens."
---
At a large international shopping mall.
"Erina-sama, are we here to buy clothes this time?" Hisako Arato asked, watching Erinaās path and guessing her intention.
"Yes," Erina replied directly.
"Eh? You havenāt even worn the clothes you bought last time very often, have you?" Hisako Arato pointed out.
Girls, when it comes to shopping, seem to have an insatiable nature; no matter how much they buy, itās never enough. Sometimes, they arenāt buying clothes; theyāre just trying to vent their desire to spend.
Renz had no objection to this, as Erina was spending her own money. Although sometimes sheād use his, Renz didnāt mind. With shared marital assets, it didnāt matter whose money was being used.
Besides, this shopping trip wasnāt for Erina to buy clothes for herself.
"Who said I was here to buy clothes for myself?" Erina retorted.
Hisako Arato was surprised. She then looked at Mashiro Shiina standing next to Renz and immediately realized, "Oh, so youāre buying clothes for Mashiro?"
"Iām buying clothes for Renz, but if Mashiro wants new clothes, Iāll buy them too," Erina said, pointing at Renz.
Renz, with utmost helplessness, said, "Honestly, I think it doesnāt matter what I wear, but Erina insists on buying me clothes, saying itās for tomorrowās international student exchange competition."
"I donāt know why I need to buy a new outfit for a cooking exchange competition," Renz added. He was a straightforward man, and very much a typical "straight man."
A straight manās biggest characteristic is having no awareness or opinion about his clothing. He could wear anything, regardless of type or cost. During his student days, Renz wore his school uniform all the time. As a professional gamer, he wore team uniforms every day without considering other options. To him, as long as he had clothes to wear, why bother with more?
However, Erinaās idea was that Renz should dress more stylishly. Renz could understand thisāit was probably to make him appear more energetic and gain public approval.
"Do you still remember my size?" Renz asked.
A question mark popped up in Hisako Aratoās mind. No. You two are "love at first sight" lovers. Even for old couples, suddenly asking about sizes like that would be hard to answer, wouldnāt it? Arenāt you making it difficult for Erina?
"I remember," Erina said, placing a finger on her chin, deep in thought.
She had always helped Renz custom-tailor his suits, going to famous luxury brands for private commissions. She remembered his size very clearly because she had ordered custom suits many times. However, now that she was younger, the size might not be accurate; it might be slightly smaller. So, she had to say it a bit more cautiously.
And to be honest, Renz also knew Erinaās measurements very well. After all, sometimes he had to send her birthday gifts. If he were to send clothes, he needed to memorize her measurements.
"Then you pick for me. Iām not good at matching things," Renz decided to hand the opportunity to choose and coordinate outfits over to Erina.
Hisako Arato found another reason to internally complain. As if Erina-sama is good at matching! She only ever wears her school uniform and white chefās uniform at school. If you let Erina choose your outfit, itāll probably turn out terrible!
Indeed. In her early days, Erina was terrible at this. However, after taking care of children for a long time, Erina grew fond of dressing them up. Slowly, she began to study fashion taste. Now, Erinaās fashion sense was actually quite good.
"Alright! Leave it to me!" Erina said with a smile.
Hisako Arato realized that between these two, she couldnāt even interject, let alone find a moment to complain. They seemed to only have eyes for each other.
My role as a third wheel is such a failure! I canāt even fight back or influence the couple at all!
