My Tribrid System: More than a Monster
Chapter 311: Skeletal Creatures (2)
Chapter 309
The sound of bones grinding against each other spread through the lands as more skeletal creatures were rushing to a specific location and at an astonishing rate.
Two young Aspirants could be seen in the middle of this mess.
Fighting as hard as they could and with all their might.
Inside a bone cave, a girl could be seen sniffling when the sound of battle and something clashing with each other reached her ears.
"Huh?"
Lifting her head up, she realized she was alone in their temporary shelter.
"Guys?" She muttered as she wiped her face dry and then picked up her bow and shifted her quiver of arrows before rushing towards the entrance.
’What’s going on? How long was I deep in thought for?’
The moment she slid outside, that’s when her gaze sharpened immediately as she spotted hundreds of skeletal creatures and her friends were battling with them.
Quickly boosting herself with her telekinetic ability, she landed on the spine of the shelter they had been in.
This granted her a vantage point where she could see hundreds more of these creatures rushing towards her friends.
"The hell is going on?!"
Quickly nocking an arrow into her bow, she aimed and let loose, sending the arrow flying.
It crashed into the skull of one of these creatures then exited the other end without causing any damage as the skeleton continued with its full speed as if it hadn’t encountered any hindrance whatsoever.
’Huh? That didn’t work?’
Chloe looked at her bow and then back down to see Ray dodging attacks fluidly while bashing the beasts, shattering their bones with each punch.
Trisha, on the other hand, moved with feline grace.
Her ice sword broke through bones while ice spikes fired out, shattering skulls as she continued onward.
Chloe clenched her teeth as she squeezed her hands tightly across the bow while an image flashed in her mind, followed by a voice and then words.
— Useless. Absolutely worthless. I regret ever birthing someone as weak and talentless as you. Get lost!
Gritting her teeth some more, her eyes burned with a deep-seated fire before she kicked off where she was and landed into the midst of battle with a graceful landing.
Adjusting the strap on her quiver, the girl lifted her bow up and watched as more of these creatures began heading towards her.
’I refuse to be useless anymore. I won’t sit back and watch people I care about get hurt. I-I-I won’t drag them down.’
The first creature to reach her, she immediately ducked under its swing then proceeded to bash her shoulder into its body, sending it sliding half a step back.
Enough time for her to shoot upright while lifting her bow above her head.
Clang!
A sword crashed onto the bow, causing her hands to shake for a moment.
Tightening her jaws, she pushed the sword backward then drove her foot into the creature’s chest, sending it almost flying.
Pushing her hand forward, her ability activated and soon, the creature was floating above the ground.
With a twirl of her hands, she sent the skeleton spinning through the air and colliding with the others of its kind, dismantling them all.
More than twenty skeletons fell from her singular attack.
And many more were rushing at her now.
.....
With a cold look on her face, Trisha’s ice sword hit the skeleton’s sword, sending it shooting upward from below for a moment.
Then she seized the hand that held the sword and pulled it off from its shoulder before swinging her hand backward, smashing the creature’s hand in her grip into the chest of another.
Before proceeding to knee the creature in front of her in its groin area, sending it crashing backward.
Whirling around, she lifted her ice sword and snapped it in place as a bone spear smashed into it and luckily, didn’t damage it one bit.
Yanking her hand backward, she grabbed the beast by the neck and impaled its skull into her sword which she drove upward, splintering the skull in two.
Still holding onto the creature’s neck, she spun around with it before driving her foot into its chest, sending the body blasting backward and crashing into three of its comrades and went scattering away.
Before she could even move forward, something hard held onto her ankle, stopping her movement.
Looking down for a moment, she could see a disabled creature holding onto her ankle tightly before bringing its skull towards her leg as if it was going to bite through it.
With no hesitation whatsoever, Trisha’s ice sword shot downward and from its tip, an ice spike tore forward, crashing through the creature’s skull and breaking it in two.
Yet, it did nothing to help her situation so she just lifted her leg and crashed it into the hand holding her down and in the process, breaking free.
Unfortunately,
Bam!
A bone shield crashed into her face with the force of a battering ram, almost lifting her off her feet if it wasn’t for her quick thinking allowing for ice to spring from the ground, wrapping around her legs and stopping her from flying.
Twirling her hand clockwise, she managed to deflect a spear shooting towards her abdomen.
But she was unable to defend from another shield in time as it crashed into her chest, sending her reeling backward uncontrollably.
And just in place, four spear users were in place with their weapons shooting towards her back, waiting for her to impale herself in them.
....
Leaning backward, Ray snatched a bone hand then pulled it off with minimal effort before using the same hand to shatter the creature’s skull.
A hand reached out from below, ready to snatch his leg but he quickly vaulted into the air in time, dodging the trap.
In that brief moment that he hovered in the air, his gaze sharpened as he could see a horde of skeletons ensnaring their positions with many more to come.
’This is bad.’
