Lira dodged the kick with a left side step. She took the elbow with two fingers.

Side step always left for the low kick.

She’s not adapting her defense. She has it fixed.

Why?

Because she doesn’t need to adapt it. It’s enough.

Kai processed it.

But if it’s always the same response, then the arrival angle of her fingers is predictable.

And if the angle is predictable...

"And the other Streamers?"

"Some tried to destroy the vampire kingdom." Lira said it with the same tone she’d describe the weather.

"Others tried to conquer it." She crossed her arms.

"All failed miserably."

"What happened to them?"

"They became dinner." Pause. "After making them chat a bit. By force." Her red eyes didn’t blink. "They gave very interesting information."
