My Scheming Little Devil
Chapter 525 - I Won’t Go to the Hospital_1
Shang Jingchen sarcastically turned and walked away.
Ye Lu gasped rapidly, sitting on the ground with residual fear, her face streaked with tears of terror. She hugged her knees as her hands and feet trembled.
Remembering the horrifying scene from just a moment ago, she nearly lost her child due to Shang Jingchen’s actions, this thought alone was enough to make her tremble uncontrollably. She had never felt such utter despair and helplessness.
Third Young Master Jun quietly watched her as she sobbed softly, his eyes dark and gloomy.
In the quiet staircase, only Ye Lu’s low sobs echoed.
Eventually regaining her composure, Ye Lu tried to stand up weakly. However, her previous struggle had drained her of all energy. Her legs gave way as she struggled to stay upright, her face turned pale with fear.
Luckily, a strong arm was there to firmly catch her.
Ye Lu’s heart trembled; she turned around to meet the deep, enchanting gaze of Third Young Master Jun.
"No need for your false sympathy, I can walk on my own," she angrily shoved his hand away. She would rather hold onto the railing herself. As her injured palm touched the railing, a wave of pain washed over her and she turned even more pallid.
Third Young Master Jun’s face darkened, "Look at you now, as soft as a noodle, about to fall any minute. What are you being stubborn for? To be blunt, if you encountered Shang Jingchen alone, what could you do?"
Ye Lu shivered, fearful of the mad frenzy of Shang Jingchen.
"Or do you wish to re-experience the horror of being pushed, but this time, no one will save you. Do you want to kill your own child?" He smirked mockingly.
Ye Lu bit her lip, unable to offer a valid rebuttal. She simply wasn’t capable of protecting herself at the moment.
Not to mention Shang Jingchen, just exiting this hotel would be a troublesome endeavor in her current weak state.
She obstinately turned her head to the side. Why was it always the same man who seemed to witness her in her worst moments? It was ironic. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Let’s go!"
The two left the staircase. Third Young Master Jun walked ahead with cold detachment.
Ye Lu followed behind with a pallid face, taking small steps. His stride was too quick and she had to quicken her pace to keep up. She was also afraid that she might encounter Shang Jingchen alone.
Weak and exhausted, she quickly found herself out of breath, her face even paler. She had to stop and lean against the hotel wall to rest.
Third Young Master Jun had reached the elevator, turned around, and looked at her with a slight frown.
She tensed, gritted her teeth and walked over, only to see him approaching with a slightly displeased look on his face.
She watched him warily, only to be swept up into his arms as he strode towards the elevator.
"You’re so slow. When will we get out of this damn hotel?" he snorted.
Ye Lu huddled in his arms, her gaze downcast, remaining silent.
Although she didn’t want to be held by him, she couldn’t deny her exhaustion and the desire not to walk rode high.
When they crossed the hotel lobby, many people looked their way, surprised. Ye Lu felt even more embarrassed.
A car was already waiting for them at the hotel entrance. They got in.
Ye Lu turned to the driver and whispered, "Please take me to XX Road, number XX!"
Yet, the driver looked at Third Young Master Jun for instructions.
His handsome yet frosty face managed to utter just one word.
"Hospital!"
Ye Lu immediately tensed, "I’m not going to the hospital."
"Not going to the hospital?" Third Young Master Jun coldly glared at her, full of mockery, "Your hand is all messed up. You’re not scared of dying from tetanus, or of something happening to the child because of you?"
Ye Lu went silent, speechless.
When they finally reached the hospital, she went through a series of examinations in the obstetrics and gynecology department and had her wound treated. A nurse escorted her to the patient room and helped her onto the bed.
As Ye Lu lay down, she noticed Third Young Master Jun standing by the window in the dim night.
