My Scheming Little Devil
Chapter 487: Have to Wait Until Midnight_1
Bai Sijia laughed, "Yeah, Ye Lu is definitely not as casual as we are. It’s a good thing to be serious and detailed. It seems that Ye Lu is determined to succeed in this experiment. It makes me feel so nervous that I have to work harder."
"Determined to succeed, I dare not say. In any case, I will do my best!" Ye Lu spoke calmly.
From beginning to end, Third Young Master Jun didn’t say a word, merely watching the group of people openly and secretly compete across the table with a cold eye.
After dinner.
"King, let’s go out and gather after finishing the experiment tonight. We haven’t had time to have a good chat." Bai Sijia grabbed Third Young Master Jun’s hand, a hopeful expression on her face.
Third Young Master Jun glanced at Ye Lu out from the corner of his eye, noticed her face with no expression at all, without any reaction.
"Okay." He agreed.
Bai Sijia couldn’t hide her excitement: "Then I’ll finish the experiment quickly, you wait for me!"
Ye Lu put down her spoon, and said indifferently to Director Li: "I’m full, I’ll go back and do the experiment first."
Having said that, she left.
She hadn’t eaten much at this meal. She didn’t know if she had lost her appetite due to long-term hunger or because there was someone at the table who made her unable to eat.
Returning to the lab, it was already dark. She turned on the light and continued the experiment.
Just after more than three hours, she felt very tired. Being fully focused, carefully operating each step, made her emotionally exhausted.
Fatigue is prone to distraction. As soon as she was distracted, she accidentally knocked over several dozen petri dishes on the experimental table, all of them fell to the ground.
Ye Lu stared blankly at the petri dishes scattered all over the floor in fragments, her face turned pale, and her heart almost stopped.
"Oh my God, how could I be so careless. I’m going crazy, I have to make the culture medium again." Ye Lu really wanted to cry. She was already tired enough and encountered such an unlucky thing, she was about to collapse.
To make some more culture medium, this step would waste her two hours.
She had only grafted less than half of the tissues, and she still had three hundred to go. She had to work until midnight.
Ye Lu squatted helplessly on the ground, looking at the mess of culture medium scattered all over the ground. Her head ached and she felt anxious, but she could only pick it up and clean it up.
She hurried to the outer laboratory to make the culture medium.
By ten o’clock, she was called out because the entire bidding team was going to leave the research institute and return to the city.
"Job well done, King, we can go now." Bai Sijia, full of energy and excitement, cheerfully stood next to Third Young Master Jun.
Third Young Master Jun nodded, then looked at the other participants: "Everyone has done well, haven’t they!"
Of the eight companies, five had completed and two were nearly done. Third Young Master Jun was satisfied and nodding.
"Xiao Ye, how is your progress?" Director Li asked anxiously.
Ye Lu, exhausted, smiled bitterly: "I have three hundred more to graft. I broke more than thirty petri dishes and need to make some culture medium."
The personnel from the other companies all had their eyes flicker, taking joy in her misfortune, because they all had been looking down upon this woman who used unspoken rules to directly enter the final bidding.
Even someone sneered in a low voice: "As expected, her professional level isn’t that high. She’s doing her experiment so slowly and carelessly. If she hadn’t been directly promoted to the final round, I doubt she would have made it past the second. Relying on unconventional tricks can’t hide one’s true nature."
Bai Sijia looked at her surprised: "Ye Lu, you’re really slow. It looks like you’re going to work until midnight. Everyone else will have left and you’ll be the only one here--that’s too pitiful."
"There are other overnight staff here, I’ll be fine." Ye Lu said expressionlessly.
