"Ha, all you have left is to play with your tongue. How pitiful! If you insist on bringing shame upon yourself, that’s your business," Yiren laughed dismissively, then straightened her back, walking ahead of Ye Lu with her group, striding out of the hotel.

Ye Lu’s face fell, realizing her problems were not merely related to management—there were both internal issues and external threats to deal with!

She stood for a while before also heading out.

Yet, she hadn’t expected that just as she walked out of the hotel entrance, a swarm of finance reporters pounced to interview her, bombarding her with sharp, targeted questions that made her complexion even uglier.

"I heard you botched the cooperation with Sum Company, is that true?"

"Since you took office, there has been a stream of unfavorable rumors, and now you’ve ruined the first deal. Do you feel incompetent? Will you give up and resign from your claim to the Hua Clan’s corporate succession?"

Faced with their aggressive questioning, Ye Lu simply responded coldly, "No comment!"

The bodyguards protected her, trying to push the reporters away, but the journalists wouldn’t leave without her answer.

Enduring, and considering her own well-being, Ye Lu retreated back to the hotel, planning to leave only after these annoying reporters had gone.

Yiren, having stolen her business deal, naturally wouldn’t miss the opportunity to summon the media to heap praise on her and publicly humiliate Ye Lu’s capabilities in the papers.

A trifling move.

However, the day was not without gains; at least now Ye Lu was aware there was a mole in her company. She would have to be more cautious in the future and keep cooperation deals confidential.

Ye Lu sat on a sofa in the restaurant on the fifth floor.

Suddenly, the Vice President rushed in with a serious face, reporting to her that the lobby on the first floor was swarmed by a large number of heavily armed and vigilant police officers, shouting loudly, demanding that the hotel’s staff and guests cooperate with an investigation.

Ye Lu was surprised; she hadn’t expected a business meeting at a hotel would be disrupted by an unexpected incident.

"Are they looking for a criminal?"

"Don’t know, it seems they heard there might be a drug dealing happening here. They received a tip and are investigating, and have sealed off the hotel. Looks like no one can leave for an hour or two."

Ye Lu frowned in frustration.

"Help me book a room, I need to rest for a bit."

Sometime later, the room was prepared and the Vice President handed the key to Ye Lu, who took the elevator up to the sixteenth floor.

As she stepped out of the elevator, the hotel floor was sparsely populated and eerily quiet, which made her heart suddenly start pounding uncontrollably, an odd feeling washing over her.

She hadn’t expected that as she was walking around the corner, someone would suddenly appear, cover her mouth, and drag her into the shadows.

Ye Lu was stunned, not expecting to be abducted in such a high-end hotel.

She dared not struggle, remaining silent and compliant, not wanting to agitate her assailant and make things worse, but her mind was racing like a roller coaster, thinking of possible ways to escape.

Then, a rough and sensual low chuckle sounded in her ears.

"You’re really obedient, not resisting at all," the voice said as the hand covering her mouth was removed.

Ye Lu turned in shock, disbelief in her gaze.

Recent updates had been slow, partly because I’ve been busy, but mainly because this novel is in its final stages with a complex plot that requires careful integration. As DI Zi, I must clarify the entire narrative to craft an emotionally stirring climax that lives up to the continued following, so I can’t guarantee update speed, but there will definitely be updates every day.
