My Scheming Little Devil
Chapter 1286: Pick It Up and Take It Back
Ye Lu was also dumbfounded. Judging from yesterday’s tone, she thought he didn’t need help as young people can find jobs and support themselves easily.
But unexpectedly, he became homeless on the roadside like a natural fool.
Looking at his thin figure and vacant eyes sitting quietly by the bustling roadside, Ye Lu felt he seemed utterly out of place in this world.
Ye Lu sighed. This man might truly be a big baby, lacking common sense in life and unaware of how to take care of himself, and he had no family or friends around him either.
She felt a bit heartbroken.
Having experienced so much, Ye Lu’s compassion had grown very faint and she didn’t want to meddle in others’ affairs.
But still, there was a feeling inside her; if she ignored this man, he might be abandoned by society.
So in the end, she couldn’t help but get out of the car.
"Why are you here?"
Hearing her voice, Ling Kong raised his head and his confused eyes focused slightly upon seeing her.
He said slowly, "I heard that you had an accident with me here, I came back to see if I could remember anything?"
"So, did you remember anything?"
"No."
"Why didn’t you stay in the hospital for further treatment?"
"I hate hospitals."
How capricious, Ye Lu stared, "So you just ran off, where do you plan to stay? By the way, do you have any money on you?"
Ling Kong seemed to consider this issue for the first time and his expression went blank.
Ye Lu was speechless, this man really couldn’t take care of himself. She didn’t know how he had survived before, as although his instincts and reactions were sharp, he seemed clueless when it came to common sense about life.
If she just left him, she didn’t know what would become of him.
Moreover, he had amnesia because of her, and the only person he remembered was her. If even she abandoned him, it made her feel incredibly guilty.
Sighing, she thought of it as doing a good deed and decided to take him home. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Do you want to come with me?" she asked.
He looked up at her, his eyes like glass beads filled with puzzlement, "Why? I’m just a stranger to you, aren’t you afraid?"
"Would you hurt me?"
"No," he shook his head.
"Then let’s go, cough cough... since you called me mom once, I guess we are somewhat relatives, I can’t just let you fend for yourself. Looking after your meals isn’t that hard."
First, because he seemed pitiful, and secondly, Ye Lu had her own motives.
From their time together, she noticed that he was physically strong, had a highly responsive instinct, and was alert.
He was also extremely focused and single-minded in every task, a person who could immerse himself profoundly once committed.
His mind was pure, except he didn’t like interacting with others or being touched, other than being a bit slow in daily tasks, he had no other major flaws.
If she could train him to be her personal bodyguard, it would be great.
Now that she was back to where she belonged, she would have to face various risks and needed someone trustworthy and capable by her side. She couldn’t always depend on Ling Kong, the youngster, to protect her—it wouldn’t be right.
Hired bodyguards, not personally trained by her, lacked a personal connection and are hard to trust completely; it’s better to train one herself.
"Hey, would you like to come with me?" The more she thought about it, the more sensible it seemed. Her eyes sparkled, and she gazed at him expectantly.
Ling Kong also looked at her, a trace of surprise in his eyes, and he obediently nodded.
"Good."
As for Ye Lu’s decision to bring this big baby home, Ling Kong and Ye Yuan both disapproved, feeling wary and hostile towards him, indeed thinking he was of dubious origin.
