My Scheming Little Devil
Chapter 1265: Getting What One Deserves
Feiyu’s eyes were red with rage, and he gnashed his teeth, angrily roaring at her.
"If it weren’t for you, this jinx, Third Young Master wouldn’t have fallen into the sea and contracted this strange illness. If it weren’t for you, he wouldn’t have been constantly getting hurt. The doctor had repeatedly warned him that if he wanted to increase his chances of survival, he absolutely must not get wounded.
"Yet knowing full well that the more he got hurt, the less time his body could hold up, he still got injured again and again for you - stabbed by his godfather, his bones fractured from blocking a kick for you, and even shot himself for your child, completely draining his physical reserves. The doctor said he wouldn’t have fallen ill so quickly, at least not for a few more months, if it weren’t for you. His miserable state is all because of you.
"You’ve made him so miserable, almost killing him, and yet you fled alone, abandoning him. How heartless can you be? Why wasn’t it you who died? I would rather have you die with him because you don’t deserve to sacrifice his life for your survival!"
After Feiyu finished roaring, he slammed the door and left.
Ye Lu sat on the hospital bed, rigid as a stone statue, her body trembling, not from the humiliation and fear of being scolded, but from immense grief and guilt.
Feiyu’s reminder brought back the memory of when he returned from abroad, his wound festering horrifically, bloodied from the stabbing by his godfather because of her.
At the black market auction, he protected her, his shoulder blade fractured, yet he forcibly flew to Ilid’s country. On the plane, he developed a high fever and was on the brink of death.
The third time, from the video playback, she saw him in danger from Gu Yan, exchanging a gunshot for the life of her child without hesitation.
She never knew the bitterness behind it, nor knew that his illness couldn’t withstand such injuries.
"Fool, knowing well you could fall ill and die, why did you keep getting hurt for her recklessly." And yet she never knew, the extent of what he did for her.
"Don’t take his words to heart; he went too far," Ling Kong said, seeing her grief and frowning in comfort.
He knew her personality; she definitely wouldn’t have left ThirdYoung Master Jun to escape alone; perhaps, it was ThirdYoung Master Jun who forced her to leave.
After all, realistically speaking, it’s better for one to live than for both to die together.
"I don’t blame him. He’s just too heartbroken, unable to control his emotions and couldn’t find an outlet but to vent on me," Ye Lu understood that Feiyu probably didn’t mean any real harm.
He was too young, facing such an event, it was hard for him to control his emotions, also proving his true loyalty to Jun Huang, at least not disappointing Jun Huang’s trust in him, unlike Lie Feng who was a letdown.
"Besides, he wasn’t entirely wrong, everything that has befallen Jun Huang is indeed because of me. Knowing this truth, even if I feel pain and guilt for a lifetime, I deserve it! But now is not the time for sadness."
Ye Lu didn’t cry, because she still had a lot to do.
His life or death was uncertain; there was his godfather’s plot; although she had escaped, since the godfather knew her identity, he wouldn’t let her go and would surely track her down in secret. She had too many things to handle.
Without him now, she must rely on herself, take on all responsibilities, and seek revenge for him.
"Ling Kong, however you can help, please have someone dispatch a helicopter to search for him."
It had been two and a half days since she left him. She didn’t know if he was still alive; she could only cling to a glimmer of hope.
