My Scheming Little Devil
Chapter 1245: Will Not Let Her Live
"I’ve thought it through, the only way we can escape this region," Third Young Master Jun said with a grave yet resolute demeanor, "is to traverse a primitive forest. It’s deserted, and the Su Family’s defenses are very thin there."
"A primitive forest?" Ye Lu was stunned, her eyes widened in disbelief.
If it were just him alone, she thought it might be feasible, but with her included, the survival rate would drop significantly.
"Right," Third Young Master Jun remained calm, pulling out a map to show her.
Previously, he had been assigned by his foster father to investigate and was very clear about the entire scope of the Su Family’s influence — where defenses were strong, where they were weak, and the geographical layout, he knew it all clearly.
While he was recuperating at Mei’s house, he would occasionally pull out the map to strategize, not initially for escape, but thinking once he got out, he would definitely need to tell the United Army’s senior officers about his foster father’s secrets.
So, how to trap and eradicate his foster father’s power? The prior intel’s deployment was no longer feasible, so a surprise attack had to be launched. Thus, he considered advising the United Army to strike through the weak northwest side of the Su Family’s army via the primitive forest.
"This plan was initially considered for the United Army’s strike strategy, but now it seems we need to use it first. Don’t worry too much, I’ve had experience surviving in the primitive forests of South America before, and this forest here is relatively smaller. I’ve calculated that it should take about ten days to cross on foot and reach the northern border of N Nation."
Third Young Master Jun’s dark, profound eyes were a calming, confident light.
Seeing his confident tone, Ye Lu thought seriously. Given the widespread manhunt by the foster father, walking towards populated areas would be inescapable, this deserted place indeed presented the only chance of escape.
Either way, she would follow him. It was better than both of them falling into the foster father’s hands.
"Okay, we’ll leave from here, so let’s build up strength today and set off properly tomorrow."
Seeing her not opposing and not showing fear for the unknown journey ahead, Third Young Master Jun felt a pang in his heart. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
He knew she must be feeling insecure. After all, she was a girl who had never suffered the hardships of the wilderness, and now she was pregnant, but she still chose to follow him unconditionally, trusting him!
He held her tightly, determined to get her out of the region no matter what.
Because falling into the foster father’s hands, if the foster father just wanted the secrets held by her family, that would be one thing. But fearing the foster father’s cruel nature, he wouldn’t let anyone who knew his secrets live to pose a threat later.
Thus, they must take the risk and escape through this primitive forest.
...
The two set off the next day. Third Young Master Jun really had experience surviving in the jungle. Although their equipment wasn’t the best, they had all the basics, but even so, their gear wasn’t light, each carrying a large, long backpack.
He dressed Ye Lu in protective gear, covering nearly her whole head in protective clothing, though it made moving inconvenient, it ensured she would not be scratched by branches or bushes.
Then, leading with a sickle and a compass, he started clearing the way ahead.
Progress was slow, essentially stop-and-go, as Ye Lu couldn’t move quickly, climbing hills and crossing waters—it was exhausting.
