Those people hurriedly raised their guns towards their car, but Third Young Master Jun avoided it with his superb driving skills. He rushed out from the rural path like a mad bull, gradually leaving the mountain village behind.

But this was just the beginning of their escape.

They dared not enter any villages, and even more so, dared not enter the cities, because they didn’t know whether the arrest warrant by the godfather had been issued. They feared that the entire Su Family region might be turning upside down in search of them.

They hid the car among the trees in the forest. Third Young Master Jun looked around and after a long search, he found a small house nearby. This area was filled with crop fields and fish ponds; presumably, this hut was where the owner stored various tools, and a place to rest when they were tired from working.

Inside there was electricity, a kettle, some simple daily necessities, and a small bed.

"You’re tired after running all day, lie down and rest," Third Young Master Jun helped Ye Lu onto the bed. Seeing her faintly pale face, he felt a deep heartache.

Ye Lu did not refuse. After all, she wasn’t just an ordinary person. Such a run was indeed tiring for her.

She slept for a while, and when she woke up, there were some smoke and smell of food in the house.

There was no light except for the glow of a flashlight, which dimly revealed a slender and rigid figure, who, with hunched back, was clumsily busy in a tight corner of the small kitchen.

When Third Young Master Jun brought the food to the small table, Ye Lu was stunned.

"You can cook?"

"How hard can cooking be? It’s just a matter of how tasty it is. I’m not just a wastrel; when studying abroad, the elite education at the Rosmandanli family was very strict. During every winter and summer vacation, we, the juniors, had to go to underdeveloped countries, either to do international rescue charity work or to go on expeditions, to foster independence!" Third Young Master Jun’s voice was calm, untroubled.
