My Scheming Little Devil
Chapter 1236: Don’t Go In
Third Young Master Jun was secretly alert and quickly brought Mei back home.
He feared that he couldn’t stay in this village for much longer. The village chief had grown suspicious of him, although he did not know the root of the suspicion.
Once Ye Lu was gone, he would have to leave as soon as possible.
...
The next morning, Ye Lu and Ling Kong lined up to clear customs.
Ever since Ling Kong made that phone call, no one had covertly tracked them anymore.
It seemed that even Ivan and his daughter were suppressed by Su Feiman and did not dare to make a move.
When they reached the middle of the line, Ye Lu’s complexion grew increasingly worse.
Ling Kong looked at her with concern, observing her gradually paling face: "Don’t worry. Ivan and his daughter are constrained and wouldn’t dare openly catch us here. But once we cross the border, they will surely be lying in wait. However, my father has already sent people to meet us, so there’s no need to worry!"
"It’s not because of that." Ye Lu’s face turned even whiter, as she suddenly remembered something she had overlooked.
Thinking back, she felt terror-stricken; how could she have not thought about this issue before.
The more she thought, the more she felt her suspicions were likely true.
As they watched the line getting shorter,
Her heart pounded fiercely, her fists clenched, she gritted her teeth, lowered her voice, and leaned closer to Ling Kong’s ear: "Listen, Ling Kong, I can’t leave, you have to go by yourself. Take my luggage. I’ll pretend to go to the restroom. There are definitely people watching us here; you can’t show any signs."
"Are you insane?" Ling Kong said, his face unchanged, but his lowered voice betrayed his astonishment.
"I can’t explain it to you now, but you must trust me!"
...
On the other side, Third Young Master Jun was contemplating how to leave.
"You won’t be able to run. The village chief will definitely not help you," Mei, tied up on the bed, grinded her teeth and said.
Third Young Master Jun sneered coldly: "If he won’t help me, then I’ll have to ask for your help."
"What do you mean?" Mei asked, fearfully clueless.
"An acute illness requires urgent medical attention; I still believe this is the best method. But since the village chief’s mother can’t be taken advantage of, we’ll have to use you."
Third Young Master Jun’s gaze fell on her, coldly calculating.
"You are my wife in name, so if you fall seriously ill, it would be reasonable for them not to obstruct. Of course, we need a hospital certificate from Su City for this, so if faking it won’t work, then you’ll have to be truly seriously ill!"
Mei burst into tears, how could there be such a cruel and heartless man.
She really experienced what it meant to encounter a devil.
Seeing her trembling with fear, her reason completely shattered, Third Young Master Jun hummed with satisfaction: "Of course, if you are willing to cooperate with me, then you won’t have to be seriously hurt."
"I’ll cooperate, I’ll cooperate," Mei cried, completely resigning to the ruthlessness of this man.
"Then you better behave. Say what I tell you to say, do what I tell you to do."
Third Young Master Jun pulled her up from the bed; a small knife pressed against her waist in his palm.
"Let’s go to the village chief’s house."
The two left the house and passed by villagers who greeted them, not showing the slightest sign of anything unusual.
Until they reached the village chief’s doorstep.
"Do you remember what I just told you to say?" Third Young Master Jun whispered a warning—the success of their plan depended on this moment, and they had to take the risk.
Mei nodded fearfully.
"Good, let’s go in." Third Young Master Jun wrapped his arm around her, ready to enter the village chief’s home.
Suddenly, a small truck rushed into the village from the entrance; someone jumped off, urgently shouting, "Don’t go in."
