My Online Girlfriend Has a Twin Sister
Chapter 367 - 241: A Dangerous Romantic State (Part 3)
"Jiangg Yao, I dare you to say that again!"
"Why are you pointing at me? My young master... Master! She’s hitting me, look, she’s trying to hit me... She’s so vicious! I’m so scared."
She deftly dodged Jiangg Ning’s slap and scrambled behind Chen Yuan, her evasion skill at one hundred percent.
No matter how fiercely Ningning attacked, she could handle it with ease. If Chen Yuan weren’t there, she would’ve surely gotten a beating. But it was precisely because of Chen Yuan’s presence that Yaoyao could be so brazenly provocative. For one, Ningning had to be careful not to accidentally hurt him. For another, she couldn’t just lunge like a tigress.
That would completely ruin her image.
After a brief, fierce struggle, Jiangg Ning was left panting. Her younger sister, in contrast, looked increasingly smug. She even stuck out her tongue and kept winking playfully. The more Ningning saw that expression, the more she wanted to slap her. A vein throbbed uncontrollably on her forehead.
"You’re feeling smug now, aren’t you? Acting all cute right in front of him. Weren’t you the one who said you’d call later? Go on, stick to Chen like glue. Don’t give him a single moment of peace."
"What call?" Chen Yuan asked, immediately picking up on that crucial detail.
"Nothing!" Jiangg Yao said quickly.
An image suddenly flashed in Chen Yuan’s mind: just as he was walking out the door, he’d seen Jiangg Yao laughing uncontrollably while telling Jiangg Ning that they would tease him together later, that they were going to "ruthlessly mess with him" or something to that effect.
His face darkened instantly, and he shoved her away.
"I’m warning you, Jiangg Yao. If you really think this is fun, go find someone else who’s willing to play your games. I don’t have time for this nonsense. I’m not a toy for your amusement. Let me catch you doing this one more time, and don’t blame me for getting nasty and forgetting we ever dated."
"I... I..." She stammered, wanting to defend herself but at a complete loss for words.
Jiangg Ning tilted her head slightly. Since her back was to Chen Yuan, she wasn’t afraid to let a subtle, smug expression show. She mouthed silently, "Serves you right."
The moment Chen Yuan turned his head, she reverted to her gentle, elegant demeanor.
Even the way she crossed her legs was mature and womanly.
Jiangg Yao was so furious she felt her hair stand on end. To make matters worse, she then heard her sister’s deceptively caring question. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"Do you have a busy schedule tomorrow? Yaoyao can be rather noisy, so don’t let her keep you from getting your rest."
"It’s not too bad. I have a major-specific course and a large lecture in the afternoon. Since you left the philosophy class, I still don’t know who the new professor is."
"I heard from the vice chancellor that it’s another female professor. A bit older than me, but very capable."
"I hope the students don’t have any major objections. They still don’t know you’ve resigned. It wouldn’t look good if everyone started skipping because of the new professor."
"Now that you mention it, thinking about my old students makes me a little sad to be leaving the university."
The two of them went back and forth, chatting happily.
Jiangg Yao couldn’t take it anymore.
’What does she mean, "Yaoyao can be rather noisy"? What was that supposed to mean?!’
’And I suppose you’re the picture of a quiet maiden?’
Jiangg Yao was intensely jealous of the friendly atmosphere between her young master and her sister.
’How are you two not enemies?! Didn’t you break up, too?’
"I’m telling on you!" she suddenly declared.
"What is it now?" Chen Yuan snapped, turning his head.
"This afternoon, my sister set me up to lure you to the underground garage by any means necessary, and then tail you! She even told me that if you put up too much of a fight, I should use a honey trap! That I should seduce you! It was all her plan! My young master, don’t be fooled by her! Ningning is no innocent little flower!"
"What!?" Chen Yuan’s expression darkened.
"When did I tell you to seduce him? I just said... I just told you to be a little sweeter with your words, that’s all." Jiangg Ning hadn’t expected her sister’s jealousy to reach the point of flipping the whole table over. She argued, trying to defend herself.
"Sis, just admit it was your idea."
"I..."
Chen Yuan scrutinized Jiangg Ning’s flustered expression. Feeling guilty under his gaze, she wanted to defend herself but didn’t know where to begin. She just gave his leg a pleading nudge and shook her head vehemently.
"It’s not like that..."
"Professor Jiangg Ning, you’ve really disappointed me. Didn’t you do some serious soul-searching and decide to get your attitude about relationships straight? It looks to me like nothing has changed." He swatted her hand away.
"Exactly! No attitude at all!" Jiangg Yao added, fanning the flames.
"You shut up, too," Chen Yuan scolded. "Don’t act like you had no part in this. She may have come up with the idea, but you’re the one who carried it out, aren’t you? You have the gall to talk?"
"Uh... I..."
"Don’t even mention dating to me again. When you’re finally done playing around and stop treating this like a game, then you can think about what to do next. You’re eight years older than me, Jiangg Yao! What did you do with those eight years? Go to kindergarten for all of them? You’re so childish."
The two sisters didn’t make a peep as he scolded them, their faces flushing crimson.
The result of their battle was a loss for both sides. Neither of them came out ahead; instead, they only reinforced his impression of them as two people who treat love like a game.
This left Chen Yuan fuming. After giving them a piece of his mind, he stormed over to the fridge to grab a Coke. His throat was dry from all the yelling.
He left the two sisters on the sofa to reflect on their actions. For a long while, they sat in silence, staring at the floor as if in deep contemplation. But it seemed the reflection wasn’t very effective. Since Chen Yuan didn’t come back to check on them, they started squabbling again.
"This is all your fault."
"No, it’s clearly your fault!"
