My Life In A Fantasy, Women-Dominated World
Chapter 195: Mutations
Hot. Cold. Pain. Pleasure. Anger. Peace. Destruction. Serenity...
Aaron experienced everything in the expanse of those 3 seconds of bloodline awakening.
He felt his mind opening up and the knowledge of the worlds smoothly integrating with his increasing brainpower.
Nothing felt too difficult for him currently as his body was overflowing with power.
It was as if he could destroy planets with a single punch, which was still just an imagination for him but he was slowly getting there... to the point where this won’t just be a figure of speech but the reality.
Karen had already moved aside after rewarding him with the bloodline as now she found her entertainment in watching him writhe on the floor.
While his inner self, soul, spiritual body, mental health, whatever you may call it was gaining enlightenment from understanding all sorts of emotions and knowledge, his physical body wasn’t as lucky...
It was said that the class trials takes place in consciousness and it was nigh impossible for the trials to actually affect the physical body that was hidden in some random world in a random country.
At worst, the soul or consciousness may die in the trials and the physical body turns into a husk without a soul, which might get inhabited by the souls from the spiritual realm if the body stays corrupted for too long.
However the authority of the beings like Primordials far surpassed such miniscule bindings of the norm.
They didn’t need the actual physical body to affect a person, since as long as there was a connection, they could affect it.
And that’s what was happening with Aaron.
His physical body which was supposed to be inside the motel room with Claire and Eva, also began to writhe around in pain without letting out a single peep out of his mouth.
Claire and Eva were surprised to say the least, before they quickly restrained Aaron and tied him up so he couldn’t hurt himself or cause too many expensive damages within the room.
They were surprised about the abnormal bump in his power, as Eva, while not actively a physical fighter, wasn’t that bad in her constitution since every level up still gave a point in every stat regardless of additional point allocation.
Despite that Aaron had easily shrugged off her restraining attempts.
Even Claire who was much higher leveled and a physical type raider to boot couldn’t easily hold him down.
Though with the joint attempts of two and some non lethal debuff magics from Eva, the pair managed to restrain him and tie him into sushi-roll.
"What just happened..." Eva asked while wiping her sweat off, her eyes wide and unblinking as she stared at the writhing Aaron on the floor.
"Aaron..." Claire blinked once, her eyes wettening slightly as she stared at the man she loved. He appeared in so much agony that she was entertaining the thought of freeing him from this pain.
There was only a single such scenario that could come to her mind.
While extremely rare and severely unlikely, there was nothing that could explain this turn of events.
That Aaron was killed in the class trials during these 1 hour he was gone for, and then the evil soul from the spiritual realm had taken over his body already.
The reason this theory was unlikely was because of the purities.
For evil souls, purities are the bane of their existence, capable of burning them into microscopic particles in an instant.
Every living being, be it human, plant, animal, beast, demon, anything... Everyone contains some purities that are essential for maintaining life.
Of course, the amount of purities differed greatly since a human saint that has never done an evil deed would be much more purer than a devil who had caused the annihilation of several nations.
But the crux of the matter was that an evil soul simply couldn’t survive in a body that still contains purities. That was impossible.
And just like everything else in the world, the purities weren’t infinite.
After death, there is no way left for them to regenerate or increase, which causes them to slowly die out and fade into nothingness.
This process could take a varying amount of time all dependent on the amount of purities the person possessed
Claire looked at Aaron with watery eyes, as if she was just seconds away from breaking out into tears.
Aaron was no saint or a ’good’ person, but he wasn’t evil either. He was just... normal.
How could his body get possessed by an evil spirit so soon?!
That was impossib... Well, nothing’s impossible.
There were some cases in history where recently died people woke up instantly, pretending to be the same person that died before slowly showing their true colours.
Those... were the greater evils. The twisted souls that has consumed so many other souls that they couldn’t even be stopped by the purities.
They didn’t care whether it had been a year since the death or barely a minute.
If they wanted the body, they would take it. As simple as that.
Of course, it had several different rules to it as well as conditions, but right now, Claire couldn’t care less about it.
What mattered was that a greater evil might’ve taken over Aaron’s body and was still struggling to take control or something.
Claire took a deep breath and looked at Eva.
The poor playful healer of the group looked back at the group leader, her eyes also teary and filled with grief as they turned to gaze at their lover on the floor.
He neither looked good at the moment, and neither sane.
To make matters worse, the primordial bloodline turned out to be a decent rarity which allowed Aaron to gain some mutations!
He first got something he always dreamt of... a pair of foldable, feathery wings expanded out of his back.
One side appeared to be pitch black like darkness itself, while the other was so bright that even Plontis’s room wouldn’t compare to it.
They appeared to be mystical, but unfortunately their integration was capable of throwing literally anyone into a whirlpool of confusion.
They grew out of his back, tearing through the jute ropes before he finally unfurled the gorgeous and slightly demonic looking wings out.
Even Claire and Eva were surprised. They hadn’t heard of a single greater evil that was capable of mutating their host.
That was a power exclusive to the dreadful beings that refuses to make public appearance ever.
However... those wings were just a start.
After the wings came the scales.
Draconic scales that were completely transparent in appearance when blended into the skin, and milky white when turned into the defensive mode, in which they would be capable of blocking several magic attacks with just their physical defence.
And just when Aaron thought it was finally over... severe pain shot out of his irises.
The normal, humane blue pupils stretched and thinned, forming a cat-like slit into the center. Their colour appeared to be golden.
While the white sclera bled into the shade of light crimson, showcasing a net of criss-crossing veins.
If it wasn’t for the dreadful cat-like irises, Aaron would’ve no doubt been teased about being high all the time... after all, his bloodshot eyes looked more stoned than those of a professional stoner!
Seeing all these gruesome mutations appearing on their lover’s ’corpse’ right in front of their eyes, Claire’s and Eva’s heart shattered.
The former’s eyes went cold, her grip on her sword tightening as she stared at the Aaron’s body like it was dead meat.
While for Eva, the tears she had held back came pouring out as she kneeled a little farther from the writhing Aaron.
He was feeling excruciating pain inside the trial, which was being transmitted to the Solaris and causing his physical body to act like how he was acting.
"Get up Eve. This ain’t the time to grieve." Claire said coldly as she looked down at Aaron, "I will not allow this evil bastard to possess the body of MY Aaron."
It was as if the possession in her tone had challenged her directly as Eva slowly turned to look at her best friend, "I agree..." she wiped her tears and stood up slowly:
"This monster needs to die first. I have never seen a transformation such as this. Hell, evil souls aren’t even supposed to transform the vessel, since they are glad enough to come into the world of living, forget about caring for their bodies!"
Claire nodded with a hardened expression, "I can’t care less about the logic right now, honestly. Just gather the proof about what’s happening, yes? I refuse to tarnish Aaron’s reputation by any misinformation."
"Well obviously." Eva hiccuped slightly and narrowed her gaze, the tears blurring her vision but her determination was unmatched.
***
"Aha~" Karen giggled as she jumped on her plush bed, "Your lovers are so interesting and caring, oh sweet young love~ How cute."
Then she looked at Aaron whose eyes were open but his focus was elsewhere.
"I would rather not have them kill your returning body like this... that would seriously be anticlimactic. Go deal with them, cutie~"
And saying that, Karen snapped her fingers and Aaron was gone.
