My Infinite System.
Chapter 270: Cultivation World
Lucian sat on the stone slab, staring at the floating window in front of him. His fingers twitched slightly, as if unsure whether to touch it or close it.
He didn’t remember summoning it.
It appeared on its own the moment Cael finished speaking.
It was familiar... but not.
Similar to the system he had before, but cleaner. More silent. More final.
He swallowed, leaned forward, and read it.

The list kept going. He stopped reading halfway through.
Lucian sat on the stone slab for a long time, just staring at the floating window. It didn’t feel like a tool anymore. It felt like a report card from a school that taught godhood. Infinite this, absolute that. It was... boring.
He finally stood up, brushing non-existent dust off his simple, dark clothes. "Figures," he muttered to the empty chamber.
He looked at the terms he didn’t recognize. Cultivation? Daos? Laws? It was like reading a manual for a world he’d built but never visited.
"So," he said aloud. "There are new words. Care to explain them?"
Cael’s voice was calm and patient in his mind. "Of course. This is the foundational framework of the new reality. Consider it an orientation."
A new, clean window appeared next to his status. It was like a textbook page.
FUNDAMENTALS OF CULTIVATION
Cael began explaining, the text scrolling to match his words.
"Cultivation is the process of refining the self to ascend to higher states of being. It is the primary path to power in this era. It revolves around three core resources, or ’Pillars’:"
· Qi (Vital Energy): The energy of life and the world. Drawn from nature, spirit stones, beasts. Used for techniques, strengthening the body, and fueling advancement.
· Soul Force: The energy of consciousness and will. Gathered through meditation, tribulation, and comprehending profound truths. Used for spiritual pressure, soul attacks, and binding artifacts.
· Body Refinement (Physique): The literal strengthening of the flesh, bones, and blood. Achieved through brutal training, rare herbs, and tempering by elemental forces. Grants immense physical power, durability, and speed.
"Most cultivators focus on one Pillar," Cael continued. "Some talented individuals can manage two. It is exceedingly rare—considered the mark of a prodigy or a madman—to cultivate all three simultaneously."
CULTIVATION STAGES (PATH OF ASCENSION)
A list appeared. It was long. Very long.
"The stages are a never-ending ladder. The known ones in this current era are:"
· Mortal Realm: Qi Gathering, Foundation Establishment, Core Formation.
· Earthly Realm: Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Soul Projection.
· Sky Realm: Divinity Transformation, Heavenly Tribulation, Star Shattering.
· Beyond: Void Walker, Law Weilder, Dao Monarch... and many more theorized stages beyond.
"Each major realm has sub-stages—Early, Middle, Late, Peak—and bottlenecks that require comprehension, resources, or tribulation lightning to break through."
PHYSIQUES & SPIRITUAL ROOTS
"These are innate talents, determined at birth or awakened through great fortune or trauma."
· Physiques: Special bodily constitutions. Examples: Ironbone Physique (extreme durability), Swiftwind Body (immense speed), Heavenly Yang/Lotus Body (perfect Qi absorption). Rare ones like Chaos Genesis Physique or Primordial Dragon Body are considered mythic.
· Spiritual Roots: Affinity for absorbing and using Qi. Graded from Mortal, to Human, Earth, Heaven, and Saint. Elemental roots exist (Fire, Water, etc.). Those with no root cannot cultivate Qi.
PROFESSIONS (AUXILIARY PATHS)
"Not all power comes from direct combat. These professions are revered and feared:"
· Alchemist: Brews Pills—condensed medicinal energy that can heal, boost cultivation, cleanse impurities, or grant temporary powers. Pills are graded from Mortal to Divine.
· Artificer/Blacksmith: Creates and enchants weapons, armor, and tools. Weapon Ranks follow a similar tier: Mortal, Spirit, Earth, Heaven, Saint, Divine, with legendary ranks above.
· Formation Master: Sets spatial and elemental traps, creates defensive barriers, and alters environmental Qi.
· Beast Tamer: Forms contracts with spiritual beasts.
· Diviner: Reads fate and seeks fortune, though it carries a heavy price.
DAOS & LAWS
This part made Lucian lean in.
"These are the higher concepts that govern reality."
· Laws: Fundamental rules of existence. The Law of Fire, the Law of Space, the Law of Gravity. Understanding a Law allows one to manipulate that aspect of reality directly.
· Daos: Deeper than Laws. A Dao is a philosophical path that encompasses a concept. The Dao of the Sword, the Dao of Destruction, the Dao of Eternal Life. Comprehending a Dao grants not just power, but a form of enlightenment and authority over that concept. Mastery of a Dao is a prerequisite for the highest levels of power.
"Cultivation Manuals are texts that provide methods for gathering energy, breaking through stages, and practicing techniques. They are fiercely guarded secrets of sects and clans."
Lucian took a deep breath, absorbing it all. It was a complex, structured system of magic and self-improvement. "Okay. So it’s a whole... ecosystem. And where do I fit in? With my... infinities?"
"You exist outside the system. You are the source from which these concepts are derived. Your ’Cultivation’ is not a level. It is the canvas upon which the levels are painted."
"Right." Lucian rubbed his temple. "So, what’s out there now? Who are the players?"
"Initiating broad-spectrum scan of the ’Profound Land’..."
A map, shimmering and three-dimensional, unfolded in the air. Continents, oceans, mountain ranges glowed.
"Scan complete. Primary factions detected:"
· The Ironwood Brotherhood: A western clan of body and Qi refiners. Practical, sturdy. Rule the Ironwood Forests and mountains. Value strength and endurance.
· The Sunhawk Talons: Aerial hunters and archers who cultivate wind and light Qi. Rule the Sky-Piercing Peaks. Proud, swift, and territorial.
· The Silent Sisters: An order of soul and Yin-energy cultivators. Mysterious, reclusive. Guard ancient knowledge and forgotten tombs.
· The Free-Lance Guild: A loose coalition of mercenaries, treasure hunters, and rogue cultivators. No unified doctrine. They exist anywhere there’s profit.
· The Church of the Seven Dawns: A religious order that worships the legends of the ’Seven Sleeping Progenitors’—unwittingly venerating Marc, Lucy, and the others. They seek to awaken the ’gods’ to usher in a golden age.
· Various Beast Clans: Ruled by powerful spirit beasts, descendants of Kael’s influence. They control vast wild territories.
· Countless minor sects, hidden clans, and nomadic tribes.
"Current Power Ceiling: The strongest detected individuals are at the Peak of the Nascent Soul stage (Earthly Realm). A handful of ancient beings may have touched the Divinity Transformation stage (Sky Realm), but they are in seclusion."
Lucian looked at the map, then at his own status screen with its endless ’Infinite’ labels. He was a nuclear reactor waking up in a world of steam engines.
"So," he said, a slow, dry smile touching his lips for the first time. "I’m the cheat code."
"A simplistic but accurate analogy," Cael replied.
Lucian waved his hand, dismissing all the windows. The golden light in the chamber brightened at his unspoken command. He looked at the solid stone wall of his resting place.
"Alright. Orientation’s over." He cracked his neck. "Let’s go see what my family’s been up to."
He took a step towards the wall. The stone didn’t part. It simply ceased to be an obstacle. He walked through it as if it were air, emerging into a grey, misty canyon—the same canyon the cultivators had fled from hours before.
He stood there, a man in simple clothes at the bottom of a divine realm, looking up at the floating islands and petrified forests. The absolute silence of the place pressed in on him. It was his silence.
He took a deep breath of the thin, dream-tainted air.
"First things first," he said to himself. "Need to look the part."
He focused. Not on a technique or a Dao. Just on a... thought.
His simple dark clothes shimmered and reformed. They became a form-fitting, high-collared black cultivator’s robe, trimmed with subtle silver glyphs that seemed to move when not looked at directly. A long, silver-lined black overcoat appeared, hanging open. Practical boots. He left the Infinity-Forged weapon as a simple, unadorned silver ring on his right hand.
He looked down at himself and nodded. He didn’t look like a god. He looked like a very, very serious wandering cultivator from a place nobody had heard of.
"Better."
He then looked inward, at the infinite potential. He placed a single, conscious limitation on himself. A seal, not of power, but of expression. He wouldn’t accidentally erase a mountain by sneezing. His power would respond to his will, not his instincts. For now.
"Prudent," Cael noted.
Lucian looked up towards the tear in reality high above, the exit. He could feel the lingering fear of the cultivators, the tension in the world outside.
He didn’t jump or fly. He simply took another step forward.
Space folded.
He was no longer in the canyon.
He stood on the silent, grey shore of the Sky-Tear Sea. The water was calm. The rift was gone. A few hundred yards down the beach, he could see the gathered cultivators and their elders in a state of frantic discussion and panic.
He stood watching them, hands in the pockets of his new coat, a faint, curious smile on his face.
The Sleeper was awake.
And he was ready for a walk.
