My Core is the Boss
Chapter 266.1: Another One From the Upper World
Jasmine’s gaze burned with passion, like a shimmering spring pool. She faintly blushed at Qi Yuan’s appearance. “If you want it, what does it matter if I give you the Mythic Secret Treasury?”
Once her master seized his body, the treasury would be as good as his.
“See? I told you she would give me the treasury!” Qi Yuan said smugly, glancing at Seven-Scar Elder. “You have no idea what kind of life handsome men live.”
Seven-Scar Elder’s face reddened slightly, and he said nothing more.
Qi Yuan knew very well that when men became flirtatious, women stood no chance. The opposite was true when women became proactive.
He shifted his tone. “So, how about I don’t go to Phoenix Palace? You can just confess here and give me the Mythic Secret Treasury.”
Qi Yuan’s thinking was simple. Since the result would be the same, it was better to skip the process. He also believed it was a gesture of high EQ. Given that he was going to reject her, wouldn’t doing so in front of so many people embarrass her? Hence, if he just took the Mythic Secret Treasury here, she could avoid losing face. A win-win.
Jasmine’s smile stiffened slightly. Naturally, she was oblivious to Qi Yuan’s thoughts.
She leaned toward him, saying in a beguiling tone, “I have specially prepared a great surprise. If you don’t go, all my painstaking effort will be wasted.”
Qi Yuan immediately dodged. He had no intention of letting Jasmine touch him. What if he caught some disease?
He finally relented. “It’s hard to refuse such hospitality. I’ll go take a look at Phoenix Palace.”
A tinge of regret flashed across Jasmine’s eyes. After today, she would win his body but not his heart, which disappointed her somewhat.
The two turned into streaks of light and flew toward Phoenix Palace. Soon, the two arrived. Though bright as day, the palace was eerily silent, carrying a gloomy atmosphere. This was not what Qi Yuan had in mind.
He asked in surprise, “They’re not going to rush out and start shouting ‘Kiss her!’ the moment I walk in, right?”
That would be very awkward.
Jasmine was momentarily stunned, unable to understand his logic.
She smiled softly, giving him a meaningful look. “Once you go inside, everything will become clear.”
“Hopefully you didn’t overdo the surprise.”
Following Jasmine, the two landed outside a hall.
Clang!
As the door was pushed open, light from the hall shone onto Qi Yuan, casting a long shadow. He glanced inside with anticipation, only for his eyes to widen. The acrid smell of blood hung in the air. Over twenty Yin Spirit corpses lay scattered everywhere.
Qi Yuan recognized them all. They had once appeared at the Yuan God Sharing Society opening ceremony. Now, they had died silently and miserably inside the Phoenix Palace.
On a large tree only ten meters from Qi Yuan hung another corpse. Its eyes were wide open, as if it had witnessed something terrifying. It was rare for powerful figures like Venerables to show such expressions. Moreover, something about the scene struck him as odd. Conflicts between Yin Spirits were usually dragged into the void world, yet they had inexplicably died inside the hall.
At that moment, a charming voice sounded beside Qi Yuan’s ear. “Do you like this surprise?”
Only then did Qi Yuan turn to look at Jasmine, his eyes full of grief and indignation. “I never expected you to be this kind of person!”
He was furious. How he had underestimated the wickedness of the human heart! The evil of human hearts had reached such a degree! The cultivation world’s moral climate had to be cleansed!
His reaction pleased Jasmine greatly. She loved seeing powerful figures show disbelief, anger, or shock.
Qi Yuan said angrily, “Are you afraid they’ll see your failed confession and embarrass you? Is that why you got angry and killed them all?! You are not worthy of liking me! We are done!”
Jasmine froze. “Huh?!”
She didn’t understand Qi Yuan’s accusation. Why is he angry? Shouldn’t he be terrified right now?
Qi Yuan snapped. “Being liked by someone so petty makes me sick!”
Jasmine was completely baffled.
At that moment, someone behind Qi Yuan said, “Fellow Daoist, you behave quite interestingly.”
Qi Yuan’s left eye twitched again. He turned around and saw the source of the voice, an ancient mirror. Its bronze frame was etched with strange patterns, its surface smeared with blood.
[Heavenly Kun Ancient Mirror. A treasured mirror from the Ninth Heaven. Bears ominous blood.]
Inside the mirror stood a man with his back facing Qi Yuan.
Qi Yuan paused. “Why are you facing away from me? Are you trying to turn your back on all living beings and dominate eternity?”
The figure froze slightly before declaring confidently, “I wish to offer you a great fortune. Will Fellow Daoist accept it?”
He asked calmly, “What fortune?”
“Despite being born in Canglan, you walked an untainted cultivation path. You must know some things about the Nine Heavens. So here’s my offer, I’ll take over your body and experience the magnificent waves of the Nine Heavens!” said the figure, full of pride and longing.
“Speak like a normal person!” Qi Yuan frowned. “This is why people with low EQ should stay silent. You can’t even talk properly.”
Jasmine gazed affectionately at Qi Yuan. “Master says he’ll borrow your body and take it to the Nine Heavens. There, we’ll experience a passion beyond anything you’ve known. This is the greatest opportunity of your life. You’ll escape this cage and behold the Nine Heavens.”
Qi Yuan quickly shot it down. “Stop fantasizing. I’m already nauseous.”
He was being sexually harassed by a disgusting woman in broad daylight! Was there not a shred of moral left?
“Your physique is actually quite ordinary. If you hadn’t been born in the Canglan World, I wouldn’t even glance at you. Being chosen by me is your honor,” the figure said confidently.
Suddenly, the environment around Qi Yuan changed. It was a ruined palace full of broken walls, shattered stone pillars, and fragments of bronze artifacts. Black bloodstains marked the corner, appearing to have withstood ten thousand years.
Qi Yuan narrowed his eyes. “Am I inside the mirror?”
The man stood with his back turned like a ghost in the night. Jasmine kneeled devoutly like a dog.
Qi Yuan glanced around. “This treasure is quite good.”
“You have good taste. My father gave this treasure to me.”
“Do you often throw parties here?” Qi Yuan sniffed the air and frowned. “You’ve defiled this treasure. With such a large space, you could empty a supermarket and store supplies here. If the apocalypse came, you wouldn’t need to worry. But instead you use it for this. You are truly short-sighted.”
The man paused. “Blood-Clothed Sword God, now that you’ve entered the Heavenly Kun Mirror, there’s no need to feign madness. It won’t change your fate.”
“You’re the one pretending!” Qi Yuan snapped back. “Your whole family must have mental illness certificates! I’m perfectly normal!”
“Hehe. You think you’re the strongest just because you killed the Four Generals of the Lei Clan? Unfortunately, your understanding limits you. Your confidence is laughable to me. You don’t even know what kind of existence you’re facing! You must always remember that there's a sky above the sky!”
Qi Yuan said, “Don’t tell me you’re also from the upper world? You sound exactly like those arrogant idiots!”
He sounds exactly like Li Qiuqian. Are they siblings?!
