"I don't think he will," Gu Qiye shook his head, "the old man is already tired, but it's good if he comes, let him rest for a while. Actually, he should have rested long ago. If it weren't for Wenyu, neither my father nor I would have known the family had such a great general."

"I don't know how my elder brother does it, always having so many clever ideas."

"He's been smart since childhood, just not good at expressing himself."

Su Zimai was silent for a moment, "Speaking of which, are you and dad really okay dealing with the White Crow Travel Brigade this time?"

"It's not like we're going to fight them to the death. My father and I are more than enough to deal with a few ordinary Catastrophe Levels; normal Catastrophe Levels are no match for us." Gu Qiye paused, "Besides, if we can't win, we'll run away, nothing to worry about... Our mission is only to stall them until the battle between Lake Hunting and the Year Beast Monarch ends, then Lake Hunting will take care of it."

"Hey, Lake Hunting boasts so much, why can't they deal with both the Nian Beast and the Brigade at the same time, and have to drag you and dad in?" Su Zimai sighed.

"There's no way around it. The movements of the White Crow Travel Brigade are mysterious. Naturally, Lake Hunting is no match for them head-on. But if they get ambushed during battle, it's a different story; they could easily succeed."

Gu Qiye sat on the wooden chair with his arms crossed, speaking methodically, "So it's no surprise that Mr. Zhuge Hui would come to us for help. I expected this."

"Okay." Su Zimai nodded, "But you and dad must be very, very careful. They have twelve people. If you can't beat them, run quickly; don't be reckless. Worse comes to worst, we'll go live at the North Pole in the future and won't need Lake Hunting's protection anymore."

"Alright, alright, listen to our little Xiaomai." Gu Qiye smiled and reached out to pat her head.

"Forget it, why not invite grandpa over?" Su Zimai said softly, "I'll have my team leader act coy, or I'll do it myself. Surely either a foster daughter or a granddaughter can persuade him."

"I've already said, grandpa won't come. Don't count on the old man," Gu Qiye smiled helplessly.

"Who said I wouldn't come?"

Suddenly, a warm voice came from the entrance of the yard.

Su Zimai and Gu Qiye were taken aback and then turned their heads simultaneously to look toward the wooden corridor.

They saw a scholarly man standing there, who looked very young, wearing glasses and sporting slicked-back hair.

He stood with his hands behind his back, a smile on his face, looking at Su Zimai and Gu Qiye through his glasses, wearing a pair of brown leather shoes.

It was naturally Su Wei.

Gu Qiye stared at Su Wei in a daze.

After some days of rest, Su Wei's hair had returned to its original thick black color, nothing like an old man at all, and his complexion was no longer as aged as at the time of the funeral.

Just as Su Wei himself had said, it was the result of overusing his "foresight" ability, depleting his stamina, but resting for a while made it much better.

However, it could still be seen that Su Wei looked somewhat haggard, with more pronounced wrinkles and nasolabial folds around his eyes.

"Grandpa, why are you here?" Gu Qiye took the initiative to get up and walked over to him.

Su Zimai was also momentarily stunned, then a hint of delight appeared on her face.

She originally had a chance to chat with Su Wei during the funeral a week ago, but her mind was preoccupied with Gu Wenyu, and the entire funeral passed without them saying a word, and they parted as strangers.

But now, with grandpa's sudden arrival, she didn't quite know what to do; the glee and excitement on her face quickly faded, replaced by awkwardness.

Oh, if only I were as shameless as a big moth, I could immediately go up and get close to him now, Su Zimai couldn't help but sigh silently.

Fortunately, just then, another set of footsteps was heard, and as she lifted her eyes, she saw a familiar figure approaching from the corridor.

The person wore a brown trench coat, a Rustic Hat, held a pipe in their mouth, and their clear medium-length hair draped over their shoulders.

"Captain!" Su Zimai blurted out.

"Maimai, I brought your grandpa over, are you happy?" Ke Qirui asked as he walked.

"I was just thinking about asking you to bring grandpa over, it seems we're on the same wavelength," Su Zimai hummed.

"No need to invite, I heard you needed help, so I came over," Su Wei said with a smile.

Su Zimai looked at him, "Grandpa, I've barely talked to you before, don't leave too quickly this time."

"Okay, I have a lot to talk to you about too." Su Wei nodded.

Gu Qiye pondered: "Have you put away all your phones and any electronic devices that might be eavesdropped on?"

"Don't worry, we know there are hackers within the brigade, everything that should be put away has been, now we're in a primitive state." Ke Qirui took a puff of his pipe and smiled slightly.

"So, Captain, how's the brigade situation?" Su Zimai looked at her, "Did you and Lake Hunting track down their whereabouts? Where are they likely to appear?"

"We haven't found any trace of them yet, but Lake Hunting has mobilized their eyes across the city for a thorough search." Ke Qirui held the pipe in his mouth, "It'd be great if we find them, but it's no big deal if we don't..."

"Why not?" Gu Qiye asked curiously.

"Because when Lake Hunting and the Nian Beast start fighting, you don't need to get involved but simply guard near the battlefield." Ke Qirui said, "That way, if the White Crow Travel Brigade launches an attack, you can intercept them immediately, preventing them from interfering in Lake Hunting's battle with the Year Beast Monarch."
