Miles Sterling lightly said "hmm" and answered, "Just out for a walk."

Gwen Grant said worriedly, "Your leg hasn’t healed yet. It’s inconvenient for you to be out alone. If you want to go for a walk, you can ask me to go with you. I’m always worried when I can’t find you."

Miles Sterling, holding his patience, replied, "I just want to be alone in silence."

Gwen hesitated for a moment and tentatively asked, "Did you remember something?"

Miles Sterling: "It’s precisely because I can’t remember anything."

Gwen thought for a few seconds and said, "How about this, I’ll take you to places we’ve been to before. Maybe it will help you remember something. Where are you now? I’ll drive over to pick you up."

Miles Sterling didn’t want Gwen to know he was near the amusement park, afraid Gwen might connect it to the girl from that day.

Even though he doesn’t remember Gwen, she is indeed listed as his spouse, so he doesn’t want her to misunderstand. Hence, he reported a location a bit away from the amusement park and walked over by himself.

As he passed a children’s restaurant on the street, his mind flashed with a strange scene as if a movie was playing.

Suddenly, countless fragmented images flickered in his mind.

A thinly-clad, dirty little girl curled up in the corner outside the restaurant’s door...

Those bright black eyes filled with fear...

An intense headache hit, and Miles Sterling immediately leaned on the lamppost by the roadside, shaking his head.

Trying to delve deeper into those images again, he found he couldn’t recall anything.

These images that suddenly appeared in his mind, were they fantasies or events that truly happened to him in the past?

"Beep—" A car horn sounded in his ears.

Miles Sterling looked up to see Gwen’s car parked in front of him.

Gwen got out of the car and asked him, "Didn’t you say you were at the restaurant where we last ate?"

Miles Sterling didn’t say anything, and his face didn’t look well.

Gwen didn’t ask further questions, walked over, helped Miles Sterling into the car, placed the crutch in the trunk, and returned to the driver’s seat.

"Did you walk here alone? The doctor said your leg’s recovery is crucial right now. You need to do your rehab exercises on time every day, and don’t walk excessively. If you want to go for a walk next time, let me know. If you don’t want to be in a wheelchair, I’ll drive you around instead."

Miles Sterling seemed not to heed Gwen’s advice and inexplicably asked, "Do we have a child?"

Gwen paused as she was starting the car, turned her head, looked at Miles Sterling with confusion, and asked, "A child? Why are you suddenly asking this?"

Miles Sterling hesitated but then told Gwen about the scenes he had just thought of, saying, "I remember a little girl, about three or four years old."

"A little girl?" Gwen knew Vanessa Sterling was taken in by Miles, and realizing something, she smiled and denied it, saying, "What little girl? We just got married and haven’t even thought about having children. Maybe it’s because you’ve been watching TV recently, and your memories are mixed up?"

Miles Sterling sat there in puzzled silence. He knew the images in his mind were not from TV dramas.

But he couldn’t figure out how that little girl was connected to him.

Gwen drove the car to a place in the suburbs that Miles Sterling had never been to.

She made up stories about how they used to date there.

Miles Sterling just listened silently. No matter how real or detailed Gwen’s descriptions were, he couldn’t find matching images in his memory.
