Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!
Chapter 912: A World for Two
The people in the elevator gradually filed out, and Seraphina Vaughn, lost in thought, never expected the last person to emerge would be her friend.
"Hey? Brother Seraphina, you’re back? We were just planning to go singing."
Seraphina Vaughn snapped back to reality, hurriedly taking a step to the side, putting some distance between herself and Julian Bishop, and began to speak somewhat incoherently: "I... I’ve been shopping all day, you guys go ahead. I’m going back to rest."
"What’s up, Brother Seraphina? You’ve gone all shy after just one day?"
Seraphina Vaughn’s back stiffened as she felt the temperature on her face uncontrollably rise. She glared at the other person and said, "Stop talking nonsense, go sing your song."
"Hehe, we understand." Saying that, the person glanced at Julian Bishop standing to the side and said, "Brother Seraphina is starting the two-person world."
Seraphina Vaughn raised her hand as if to hit, but the person dodged and ran outside the hotel, shouting, "Before long, Brother Seraphina will be inviting us to her wedding banquet!"
Seraphina Vaughn yelled back at them, "Shut your mouth and get lost!"
The person left with a cheeky grin, and Seraphina Vaughn, still annoyed, glared at Julian Bishop before rolling her eyes and walking into the elevator.
Julian Bishop, amused, followed her into the elevator, noticing Seraphina Vaughn’s embarrassment; he refrained from teasing further.
When the elevator reached the floor, Julian Bishop accompanied Seraphina Vaughn to her room door and said, "The things we bought are in my room, I’ll bring them to you."
Upon hearing that, Seraphina Vaughn paused her action of closing the door, leaving it slightly ajar, kicked off her shoes, and went into the room.
Not long after, Julian Bishop came from his room, carrying large shopping bags and pushed the door open.
"Should I leave them by the door?"
Half lying on the bed playing with her phone, Seraphina Vaughn lazily responded, "Anywhere is fine."
Julian Bishop put down the things, looked at her, and advised, "Rest early, we have to get up early tomorrow morning."
Seraphina Vaughn didn’t move or respond.
Julian Bishop didn’t say more, gently closing the door as he left.
Upon hearing the door close, Seraphina Vaughn’s gaze finally shifted from her phone. She sat up and glanced towards the door a few times.
Her mind was like a tangled ball of thread, impossible to unravel.
She sat dazed on the bedside for half a minute, looking at the pile of shopping bags by the door, sighed deeply to collect her thoughts, and took a robe to the bathroom.
Luckily, after a whole day of shopping, exhaustion left her with little energy to overthink, and she quickly fell asleep.
Though Julian Bishop reminded her they’d be getting up early, she hadn’t expected it to be this early.
Outside, the sky hadn’t even lightened when Julian Bishop called.
Seraphina Vaughn groggily answered the phone, then saw that it was not yet five o’clock on her phone.
She frowned, pulling the quilt higher to continue sleeping, but just as she was about to drift back off, a knock at the door sounded.
Suppressing her sleepiness, she crawled out of bed to answer the door and immediately scolded Julian Bishop standing outside, "Are you crazy? What time is it?"
"If we’re late, we won’t make it. Quickly change your clothes, and you can sleep in the car later."
Seraphina Vaughn, unable to wake naturally, was full of irritation: "I’m not going, you want to go, go by yourself. I’m going to sleep."
Julian Bishop listened and then reached to push open the door, slipping inside and closing the door behind him, saying, "Fine, I’ll watch you sleep."
Seraphina Vaughn furrowed her brow deeply, noting Julian Bishop was already dressed neatly as if waiting for her, and after an internal struggle, she reluctantly agreed: "Get out, I’ll change clothes."
Julian Bishop, however, stood still and said, "I’m afraid you’ll fall asleep again; I’ll wait here, you can change in the bathroom."
