Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!
Chapter 890: Private Tutor
Hannah Sue, shocked, asked full of admiration, "Are you really that amazing? Were you admitted on the verge of the cutoff score?"
Evan Sutton replied casually, "The admission score was probably just top ten of the whole school."
Hannah Sue was so amazed her jaw nearly dropped to the floor, then she said, "Then I think I should consider a different school, I feel hopeless now."
Evan Sutton said, "How can you be hopeless without even trying? There are still three months, if you work hard, there’s hope."
"You said even our class’s top student barely made the cutoff score, I don’t have the confidence to surpass the top student in three months."
"But you have me as your private tutor, so even if you’re not confident in yourself, you should have some confidence in me, right? Give it a try." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Upon hearing Evan Sutton’s first half of the sentence, Hannah Sue couldn’t help but smile and then muttered, "You’re so busy with work, where do you find time to tutor me?"
Evan Sutton replied, "It’s the last few months, you push through, I’ll push through, everyone just endure a bit."
Upon hearing Evan say this, Hannah Sue suddenly felt extremely satisfied and immediately regained her confidence: "I will definitely catch up to your footsteps!"
Evan Sutton teased, "Catching up to my footsteps isn’t easy, just don’t let me leave you behind so you can’t even see my shadow."
Hannah Sue mumbled softly, "Don’t underestimate me."
Watching Evan Sutton’s steps heading towards the school gate, she gazed at Evan longingly and asked, "Are you heading back?"
Evan Sutton: "Does the school have any activities scheduled?"
Hannah Sue shook her head, hinting, "It’s school dismiss now, just need to be back by one thirty in the afternoon."
Evan Sutton watched as other students followed their parents out the school gate, realizing it was lunchtime, he naturally understood what was on Hannah Sue’s mind.
"What do you want to eat?"
Evan Sutton’s question hit Hannah Sue right in the heart, she smiled and asked, "Whose treat is it?"
Evan Sutton gave her a sidelong glance, retorting, "Do you have money?"
"Hehe, is your car parked far?"
Evan Sutton took out his car key and pressed it, seeing a car not far away light up.
Hannah Sue then said, "Let’s go to the Western restaurant at the East Gate of the school."
Evan Sutton pointed across the street, "Isn’t there a Western restaurant right there?"
Hannah Sue grabbed his arm and walked towards the car, saying, "It’s different, this one doesn’t taste good."
Evan Sutton assumed it must be a matter of taste and complied with Hannah Sue’s request to head to the East Gate.
Even though the distance wasn’t far, the road was congested, stop-and-go all the way, taking ten minutes rather than three or four.
When Evan Sutton saw the Western restaurant with a couple’s theme, he understood why Hannah Sue insisted on this one.
Evan Sutton led Hannah Sue to the second floor and picked a booth by the window.
The sound of a deep and soothing cello filled the air, the fragrance of roses lingered faintly, the warmth of candlelight added to the romantic atmosphere.
Hannah Sue, who had suggested coming here, appeared a bit nervous now, handing the menu to Evan, "You’re treating, you order."
The two had lived under the same roof for a period, so Evan Sutton was somewhat familiar with Hannah Sue’s eating habits.
He took the menu without asking Hannah Sue and ordered the dishes.
Hannah Sue didn’t find this behavior inappropriate; for her, managing to trick Evan Sutton into having a meal here was enough to secretly rejoice for a while.
When she first learned about the restaurant, she fantasized numerous times about dining here with Evan Sutton, now she’s fulfilling that dream.
"Hannah?"
Hearing her name, Hannah Sue’s spine stiffened, she turned and saw Bryce Sue.
"Big... brother." Hannah Sue felt uneasy, like being caught in early romance by her parents.
After all, two single people appearing in such a couple-themed restaurant, it’s hard not to be misunderstood.
Among the Sutton brothers, Evan Sutton was the most low-key, seldom seen in formal events, so even socially well-connected Bryce Sue didn’t recognize him.
"This is..."
Hannah Sue laughed awkwardly, looking at Evan Sutton anxiously before answering Bryce Sue, "...A friend of mine. Big brother, what brings you here?"
Bryce Sue was not the kind to meddle too much, and wouldn’t probe into personal matters, he replied with a gentle smile, "Came here to eat with your sister-in-law."
"Is sister-in-law coming too?"
"Hmm, she’ll be here soon, I came to order first."
After a brief awkward conversation, Hannah Sue didn’t know what else to say, so she just laughed awkwardly.
Fortunately, the waiter brought drinks over, Bryce noticed Hannah Sue’s unease and said, "Enjoy your meal, I won’t disturb you."
Watching Bryce walk away, Hannah Sue finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Evan Sutton gently pushed the drink brought by the waiter towards Hannah, and said, "Aren’t you worried about misunderstanding without explaining to your brother?"
Hannah Sue sipped the drink through a straw and said, "He doesn’t have the time to bother with these things."
"Didn’t you say earlier that your brother treats you well?"
Hannah Sue replied, "That’s only compared to the rest of the family. At least he doesn’t bully me, but he focuses mostly on work and rarely cares about family affairs. He’s married now and moved out; I haven’t seen him in a long while."
Evan Sutton asked, "So no one’s really looking after you at home?"
Hannah Sue pouted, saying, "I live at school most of the time, only go home when I need living expenses, take the allowance and leave. I don’t want them to bother with me, things are fine like this."
Evan Sutton was about to ask something when Hannah Sue suddenly changed the subject, "Do you know who my sister-in-law is?"
"Hmm?"
"You probably know her. Isn’t your sister married to the Third Young Master Warner? Then you must know the Warner’s Second Young Master? My sister-in-law was the Second Lady Warner before, Chloe Swift."
Evan Sutton raised an eyebrow in surprise; he had heard something about this but never delved into it.
Hannah Sue popped a little snack into her mouth, eating while saying, "I used to wonder why my brother, being quite capable and handsome, insisted on marrying a twice-married woman. But now I understand a bit, my sister-in-law is quite charming, gentle, wise, well-educated, the most important thing is she treats me well. Whenever she goes shopping, she buys me jewelry and clothes she thinks would suit me, so I really like her."
