Chapter 1131: Skill Books
Irene and the rest simply stared at Anthony, who was lost in his own thoughts. Anthony, noticing their gaze upon him, coughed lightly before continuing, "So, there are a few things I do know about the Ascension, so I will simply explain them now."
Collins and everyone else listened attentively, as they knew absolutely nothing about the Upper Galaxies and what truly awaited beyond their current realm of existence.
"Although you all might be able to meet whatever being or force is behind the Calling together, you will not end up in the same Upper Galaxy," Anthony stated as he met their gazes, his tone steady and matter-of-fact.
At Anthony’s words, Irene, Collins, Mitchelle, and Michael immediately frowned, their expressions tightening as the implication settled deeply within them.
"It seems I will not be ascending then," Collins spoke without a shred of hesitation. He was not about to run off to some random Upper Galaxy and leave his wife stranded in another.
"Same here, there is nothing wrong with remaining here," Mitchelle followed up immediately, her voice calm yet resolute, as her love for her partner transcended even the allure of the Upper Galaxies.
"What is the reason for this, Anthony?" Irene asked in a calm tone, completely unconcerned and unbothered. After all, she had never been particularly invested in the concept of Ascension to begin with.
"The answer is simple: there are countless Upper Galaxies and Lower Galaxies in existence, meaning each ascendant will be sent into a random Upper Galaxy. As a result, everyone will inevitably be separated," Anthony explained.
Michael shook his head as he spoke, "What is the point of answering the Calling together if we are just going to end up separated?" His tone was logical, but his earlier enthusiasm toward Ascension had already begun to fade noticeably.
"So you can survive if there is a trial awaiting," Anthony replied with a slight shake of his head, but he received no response from any of them, as they had already begun to abandon the idea of Ascension altogether.
Anthony sighed softly before continuing, "You all are quite quick to jump to conclusions, you know," a faint smile touching his lips. "I would not suggest upgrading your talents and pursuing Ascension if I had not already found a way around this problem," his voice calm and confident.
Everyone arched an eyebrow as they waited for this so-called solution, their attention sharpening once more with renewed interest.
"This is the Mirror Dimension. It can contain life and everything within it, meaning that during Ascension, Grandpa can simply place Grandma inside the Mirror Dimension and ascend while keeping her hidden away," Anthony explained, presenting the exact solution the system had suggested.
"And before any of you say you do not have the Mirror Dimension ability, I will convert it into a Skill Book and give one to each of you," Anthony continued. "You can even place the Null Estate within the Mirror Dimension if you wish to take it along with you."
Anthony did not waste time with unnecessary elaboration. He snapped his fingers, activating Quantum Manipulation, and instantly created four Skill Books, which he passed to his parents and grandparents through precise telekinesis.
Everyone stared at the Skill Books for a brief moment. The explanation had been so clear and straightforward that no questions needed to be asked. With a single thought, they willed themselves to use the Skill Books. In the next moment, the books dissolved into flickering motes of light, phasing directly through their foreheads as the knowledge and ability fused seamlessly with them.
They remained still and silent for a short while, as though processing and comprehending the mechanics and deeper principles behind the ability. After a moment, they gradually returned to their senses.
"Good stuff," Michael stated with clear approval. Although they each possessed various realms and planes they had created over time, those constructs were fixed within specific coordinates of space and time, making them impossible to carry along freely.
"I just got some inspiration from this particular ability," Mitchelle said, her mind already racing with ideas. With her newly enhanced capabilities, her thoughts surged rapidly as she considered countless possibilities she intended to experiment with and refine further.
Collins and Irene did not speak; they simply nodded in agreement, silently acknowledging the usefulness and practicality of the ability.
Anthony shook his head slightly before snapping his fingers once more. Another set of four Skill Books materialized instantly. He distributed them as he spoke, "The ability within this Skill Book is called Position Marker. You can mark anyone, anything, or any place, and with a single thought, you can teleport to your marked location without any Mana cost or any form of expenditure whatsoever," he explained calmly.
Everyone stared speechlessly at the Skill Books in their hands as they quickly grasped just how overwhelmingly powerful the ability truly was.
"Does this mean..." Collins began, his voice trailing slightly as realization dawned upon him.
"Yes, it means you will be able to teleport across Galaxies, across Universes even," Anthony confirmed with a calm, indifferent tone.
He had given them the Position Marker Skill Book for a single reason, not to suppress their adventurous spirit, but rather to ensure that distance would never become an insurmountable barrier between them.
Since they loved each other too deeply to be separated for long, why not give them a method to reunite whenever they desired? Even if they were separated by entire Galaxies, they could still find their way back to one another. After all, Michael might wish to explore another Galaxy, but he would never do so if it meant risking never seeing Mitchelle or his parents again.
They could not even teleport between Lower Galaxies before; expecting such movement across Upper Galaxies, where the Laws of Reality would be far stricter and far more resistant, would have been nearly impossible under normal circumstances.
Even teleporting between planets and solar systems alone was already immensely taxing in terms of Mana, even for beings of their caliber and level of mastery.
Irene, Collins, Michael, and Mitchelle smiled as they immediately willed the use of the Skill Books. With this, even if they later chose to venture into different Galaxies, each of them could freely abandon their respective Upper Galaxies at any given time. Irene, for example, could simply decide to leave her own Upper Galaxy and return to Collins if she ever reconsidered her solo journey.
Collins shifted his gaze toward Irene. Just because the Skill Book had been given did not mean he wished to be separated from his wife. However, that was not a discussion to be had now. They would return to it later. If Irene desired a journey of her own, he would respect her decision, but he would still check on her from time to time, regardless of distance or circumstance.
Irene turned to meet Collins’ gaze. She smiled softly and shook her head, as she could already tell exactly what was going through her husband’s mind. She had been married to the man for over a thousand years now; it would have been strange if she could not understand him, at least to some meaningful degree.
