Merchant From Earth in the Magical World
Chapter 443 - 370 Demon God Kayron_2
"However, we have already found a Witch with an extremely pure bloodline. As long as You grant me power, I will be able to capture her."
Kayron said, "What I value most is the spirit of the contract; rules are rules. Sacrifice first, then receive power. Your ancestors all abided by the contract; do you still delude yourself into thinking I would break it for you?"
Baron Max pleaded, "Lord Kayron, the situation is different now. The enemy will soon breach our defenses, and if I die, there will be no one left to make sacrifices to You..." đđŁđ˛đđ¨đ˛đđťđźđŻđ˛đ.đ°đđŚ
"Hahaha..." Kayron burst into laughter. "To think that a puny creature like you dares to threaten me? What impact could your life or death possibly have on me? If the Witchesâ Aid Society were no more, what impact could that possibly have on me? Eventually, someone will find this place; someone will always make a pact with me to gain power."
"Lord Kayron..."
Max wanted to continue begging, but Kayron interrupted him. "Donât beg me any longer. Instead, ponder how you will receive your guest. Hey, boy...have you eavesdropped enough?"
Max immediately looked towards the basement passage. There was a flash of light, and Yan Xing appeared out of thin air before his eyes.
"How... how did you get in here?"
Yan Xing walked a slow, probing path around the edge of the altar and replied to Max, "Of course, I followed you in. Who wouldâve thought such a gem lay hidden beneath a decrepit old castle. Baron Max, wonât you make an introduction?"
Kayron remained silent where he sat.
Max moved closer to Kayronâs side and answered, "Yan Xing, donât be too smug. I know thereâs a vast gap between my power and yours, but this is the ancient Demon God Kayron. According to legend, he is..."
Yan Xing interrupted with a smile, "Hey, donât rush with the titles. Your Demon God Kayron is about to vanish."
"You dare slander Lord Kayron..."
Max seized on Yan Xingâs words, hoping to incriminate him. If I can enrage the Demon God, his death would be a mere flick of a finger away.
But Max discovered... Demon God Kayron was truly almost extinguished.
Demon God Kayronâs fiery form was sustained by the flames produced from Maxâs burning blood. The blood Max had just offered was almost consumed, and Demon God Kayronâs figure had grown much dimmer.
With the enemy at the gates, Max knew that offering his blood was consuming his own life force, yet he quickly slit his palm to continue the offering. Then, to conserve his blood, he dared not waste any more words and said to Kayron, "Lord Kayron... itâs him! He killed all the senior members of the Witchesâ Aid Society. He also kidnapped a Witch of pure bloodline. Please, Lord, mete out divine punishment upon him and avenge your faithful followers!"
Kayron looked at Yan Xing, who was standing outside the altar, and asked, "Who are you? The energy emanating from you feels familiar."
After Max had fled the manor, Yan Xing followed him to discover what secrets he was hiding. He hadnât expected to find someone quite so formidable beneath the heavily guarded, dilapidated old fortress. Yan Xing positioned himself close to the exit, ready to instantly use Arc Light Blink to escape if danger arose.
"Master... the opponentâs strength is very powerful, but he seems unable to leave the altar."
Yan Xing could also feel the surging power within the altar. He replied to Kayron, "The energy from you also feels very familiar to me. It appears we come from the same place."
Upon hearing Yan Xingâs response, Max was visibly shocked, hiding his entire body behind Kayron. His bulky figure, however, only made the attempt look comical.
"Lord Kayron, is he... is he also a deity?"
"A deity? I certainly am not," Yan Xing answered, gazing at Kayron. "Iâm quite curious as to your true identity as a âDemon Godâ."
Kayronâs tone remained relaxed. "I never claimed to be any âDemon Godâ; thatâs just a title theyâve bestowed upon me. However, I havenât met you before. You must be one of my descendants. What do they call you?"
"My name is Yan Xing," Yan Xing answered.
To which Kayron voiced his dissatisfaction, "Donât the younger generations know how to introduce themselves anymore? Race, the title bestowed by the deities, then your name. And... the race you protect."
Yan Xing, unsure of how to respond, silently observed Kayron.
Heâs a bit of a chatterbox.
He doesnât harbor much hostility toward me; on the contrary... it feels a bit like seeing someone from back home.
If his true self were in the Magic World, he wouldnât act as if he hadnât seen someone from home in ages.
Perhaps... his real body is trapped somewhere.
Just like the Nine-Headed Dragon.
"As a senior, shouldnât you introduce yourself first?"
This time, Kayron fell silent.
And at this moment, Max was the most anxious.
You two go back and forth, silent for ages after a single sentence! You have time to chat, but itâs my blood fueling this connection!
Seeing Kayronâs fiery form fading again, Max could only immediately let more blood to add fuel.
I want to urge them to talk faster, but I donât dare speak out of turn.
"Forget it..." After thinking for a moment, Kayron said, "If you donât want to talk, neither do I. Letâs just call each other by our current names. Without the weight of our backgrounds, you and I could be friends."
Yan Xing knew that for some reason, Kayron must regard him as an equal.
Keeping our identities hidden... Kayronâs origin is a mystery, but for me right now, this might be the best outcome.
Just as Kayron said, with no burdensome backgrounds, thereâs no conflict. Becoming friends seems like a good option.
Even superficial friends are better than another powerful enemy.
"I can do that; the thing I like to do most is make friends." Having been a ruler in the Magic World, Yan Xing had a very good grasp of the demeanor of a powerful person. He then asked, "As friends, is there anything I can do to help you?"
Kayron fell silent again.
Hiding behind him, the impatient Max was truly anxious.
If you two "gods" become friends, Iâll be safe... but canât we speed this up a bit? Thatâs my blood burning on the ground!
Max, with no other choice, added fuel to the ground again.
Kayron still had some reservations about this new âfriend.â After all, he didnât know what had transpired in the world during his long absence, nor the true nature of this âfellow countryman.â
But since he can move freely in this world, his strength must be immense.
After a long thought, Kayron decided to state his needs.
Anyway... I have nothing left to lose.
"I came to this world a very, very long time ago, but I need to use a certain medium to move freely here. This medium is the energy from our world. The so-called Witches are actually descendants of people from our world, living in this one. Therefore, the blood of a Witch is a medium for me. However, as their bloodline grew thinner with each passing generation, I was eventually trapped here and fell into slumber. Not long ago, members of the Witchesâ Aid Society awakened me with the blood of a pure-blooded Witch. But that small amount of blood was only enough to sustain my presence in this world, not enough for me to leave this place. You understand what I mean."
Yan Xing did understand.
As long as I donât give Kayron the medium, he can only stay in this altar and will eventually return to slumber as his energy depletes.
This medium...
Should I give it to him, or not?
Yan Xing pondered the pros and cons of both choices, considering the potential risks of letting Kayron leave this altar.
This entity could very well be on par with the Nine-Headed Dragon. Releasing it... could genuinely usher in a new mythological era.
"I can give you the medium, but I have conditions," Yan Xing said.
Kayron replied, "Of course. To receive something, one must give something in return. Once I agree, I will certainly abide by the contract between us. But... donât make your conditions too harsh."
Yan Xing smiled and said, "My familyâs creed is âto keep oneâs word,â and we are both people who respect contracts. Having a common code is a good start to a friendship."
